About the Owner

We are an Italian-Canadian couple who runs two vacation rentals, one near Siena and one in Pisa, where we work. When we travel, we love staying at self-catering accommodation and we do our best to make our guests' experience as enjoyable as we expect ours to be when we are on holiday.

A well-maintained flat with welcoming hosts

  • 5 of 5

We were very delighted with our stay. The apartment is clean, spacious and stylish. We visited in December, and it took quite a while to heat it up, but once warm, it maintained a comfortable temperature. The kitchen has all utensils and even basic foodstuffs. A big supermarket is within a 2 minute-walk. The train station and bus stops are literally on the doorstep, so it was very convenient for short trips (we went to Lucca and Florence). Pisa is a small and cozy city, with fantastic riverside views at night and nice coffee shops.

Marcel was very helpful and gave us lots of useful travel tips. Would definitely recommend this apartment for a short city break!

Très bel appartement

  • 4 of 5

From the Owner

It was our first home together, and then when the family grew, we decided we didn't want to sell it. So we transformed it into a vacation rental.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Pisa airport at 6 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Plenty in the area at 100 Metres Nearest Ferry : Livorno at 25 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Tirrenia at 16 Kilometres Nearest Train : Pisa San Rossore at 500 Metres Nearest Motorway : E80 at 5 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Plenty in the area at 100 Metres Nearest Ski : Abetone at 90 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Tirrenia at 16 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Special interest holidays:

We do not directly offer special courses or activities, but we would be happy to help our guests find language lessons, wine tours, cooking classes and other interesting activities upon request and free of charge.

Pisa used to be on the coast, then over time the river Arno has built 6km of coastline and now the closest beach is in Marina di Pisa. Tirrenia, the Versilia, the Etruscan coast, the Elba Isle, Cinque Terre are all easy daytrips. Marina di Pisa is at 10km, Tirrenia is 13km away. There are buses and trains to Viareggio as well.

Pisa airport Galileo Galilei is practically in town. The best thing is that, besides many national airlines, most low-cost airlines such as Ryan Air and Easy Jet fly to Pisa. This makes the trip really affordable. If you wish to rent a car, the best pick up location is the airport. We offer pick up service free of charge, oth from the airport and from the train station of Pisa. Pisa has two train stations: Centrale and San Rossore, right behind the apartment.

Besides the city itself - where there is much more to do than to see the Leaning Tower and rush away - Pisa is an excellent base to visit northern Tuscany. A car is not necessary if you wish to visit the major cities and town, all easily reachable by train or bus. Florence, Siena, Lucca, Cinque Terre and the Versilia, with Viareggio, Massa Carrara, or Montecatini and other famous destinations are easy train rides. If you decide to rent a car, we recommend a daytrip to the Garfagnana.

Further Details:

A nice activity is to take the boat tour of the city. Carriage tours are also interesting but expensive. The best time of the year in Pisa is June, when the city organises several festivals the best of which is La Luminara, on June 16th, and on the 17th there is the Regatta. On the last weekend of June there is the Gioco del Ponte.

Supermarket and restaurants and bars literally around the corner.

From the Owner

The apartment is very convenient to visit the city, but also to visit surrounding popular destinations by public transportation, such as Lucca and Florence. Everything is at your doorstep: the Leaning Tower, restaurants and bars, a large supermarket, city bus stop on the major city bus line in the city connecting the Leaning Tower to the Central train station and the airport, and train station to Lucca. It is a great location to use as a base if you are a tourist, but also if you need to visit the University for work.
