About the property

Villa in Mesquita, Sao Bras de Alportel, Eastern Algarve - Peaceful Location With Country And Sea Views

This beautiful villa with living space of over 2250 square feet was built in 1992 and 2015 to high modern standards. It is located on a south-facing hillside in a peaceful and private location overlooking the beautiful countryside. It is a safe area, and, in the same time, quite private. It is the last house at the end of a small road, no cars around. The next neighbours are 200-300 meters away, all around ecological area with olive, almond and carob trees.The area is great for short or longer trips. Because of its elevated position the ocean can be seen from the villa. The closest beach at Fuzeta is only about 20 minutes away by car. The villa has all modern comfort and is very well equiped with all needed devices (air conditioning, Hi Fi, dish washer, washing mashine, oven, microwave, etc.). For winter time a modern heating system for all the house is available. It uses solar enery (hot water), wood and/or electricity. By using the chemney in the living area (wood), also hot water for heating and washing is produced. The photovoltaic system produce electricity, but, of course, we are connected to the normal electricity supplier. The living area is very large, including the american kitchen, dinner place, sitting group, studio in 1.st floor, partly very high room, which is very pleasent especially im sommer. There are 3 bedrooms - 2 in the ground floor, 1 in the first floor. The windows are equiped with profesional musquitos nets, which, of course, keep also the flies out. All the bedrooms have beds with high quality mattresses, which can be turned around - so that you can have rather hard or memeory effect i.e.rather softer. The bathroom is quite large and has a bathtube, shower place, WC, bidet, washbasin. The second bathroom has a washbasin, WC and bidet. Another shower place with hot and cold water is near the pool. A nice barbeque on the ground floor terrace, tables for minimum 6 persons in and outside, a large well maintained garden and, of course, the pool very suitable also for small children, since it has stairs and is heaten with solar energy even in sommer to reach 28-29 °C. In winter the solar energy is normally used to support the heating system in house, and not for the pool. Once a week clean service is included in price (also bed lines and towels change).

About Michelle Kohler

We are a German family, 64 and 58 years old, our daughter is 21. We are both physicists, our daughter studies medicine. We like nature, good food, have hopefully some sense for humor and do smile and laugh. Our daughter loves horses and rides them (quite successfully!). We also love all kind of animals; in the moment 3 cats belong to our family. In the photo you can see me and our daughter in Tavira.

Why Michelle Kohler chose São Brás de Alportel

During a holiday 1990 we just fell in love with the landscape in the east of Algarve and bought a piece of land. The house was built 1992; a lot of improvments followed. The teracce upstairs was renewed and got a roof 2015. Since 1992, we still enjoy to be in Portugal. We did invest a lot in the house in order to keep it in a good condition and to improve the comfort. The pool was completely renewed inside 4 years ago. Last year we installed new solar panels for hot water and electricity. Even in the colder months the house can be heated with the hot water from the sun. In autumn this year we did replace the open fireplace with a modern, high efficient closed "thermojolly", which provides also hot water for the heating system. In this way the house can be heated completely with wood, if there are rainy days. Heating pumps for cooling or heating are also installed.

What makes this house unique

Since we love nature, we enjoy the area here. From our house we have a gorgeous view up to the ocean. Since a small road ends at our house, no cars are driving nearby. Here you can still find the genuine portuguese landscape, and have wonderful trips starting just from our house.

If you look for a place full of tourists, do not book our house! If you look for a quite place, but nevertheless not far away from all facilities, you have the right choice with our villa. Last but not least, the area here is still very safe.

Great trip. We enjoyed our stay.

We spend 3 months in Casa da Saudade. We were very pleased with our choice. The house is in excellent location, very private with nice garden.Close drive to everything.The house was well managed by helpful and pleasant people.

We loved the open concept of the living space, it is practical and elegant. The ceramic tiled kitchen counter was our favorite .Such a good idea to make kitchen attractive and yet useful. The dining room area had plenty of china and glass ware.The sitting area was comfortable and the sound system was excellent. We enjoyed the big terrace on the upper level It has splendid views The sunsets were often spectacular.

We have already decided to return the next winter. Such a find, great house!!! Thanks to Michelle for constant interest in our well being.

Fantastic experience

Having read the description of the Villa in advance and seen all the pictures, the Villa exceeded all of our expectations.

Although the pictures of the villa are spectacular it doesn’t prepare you for the Wow -factor when you walk through the front door.

The descriptions, layout and all facilities were perfectly described, the property was in excellent condition and extremely clean.

When we walked in we were impressed by the light, spacious and stylish interior. The villa is amazing, plenty of room.

The accommodation is furnished to a very high standard and is very comfortable, The decor is very tasteful and fitting to the house, whose architecture gives a beautiful feeling of space.

The kitchen is very well equipped for eating in, cable TV and wireless internet are available, the house is fully airconditioned.

The outside space was spectacular.

The swimming pool was excellent and is quite large for a holiday villa.

The pool is suitable for all abilities with steps down and as well as a superb outdoor BBQ.

We were also very impressed with the garden, which is large, well maintained, quiet and secluded.

The owners have gone to great lengths to make it more like home from home.

We enjoyed a lot to be in the house, on the terraces in the garden or in the pool! The view up to the ocean is gorgeous!T

A wonderfull, modern house with all commodities in a quiet neighbourhood, very well maintained and cared for.

The owner provided first class customer service, answering all my questions, returning phone calls promptly.

The housekeeper was very nice and helpfull.

The garderner and the maid are excellent and keep everything very good maintained.

The driving distance to town centre is about 5 min. and the beach in aprox. 20 min.

Faro is a wonderful town with fab shopping, wonderful seafood restaurants and bars.

Close to the villa inn 5 min driving distance are 2 mercados for your provisions.

If you're looking for a stunning Villa in a quiet location then this is it.

If you are thinking of booking - don't hesitate you will not be disappointed.

We can highly recommend this villa throughout the entire year.

We had a great holliday (we were 6 persons) and we will definitely be re-booking and we have no hesitation in recommending this villa to potential guests!

We’ll come again as we had such a fantastic experience.

Excellente adresse !

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette maison bien équipée et spacieuse. L'environnement est très calme, le jardin très agréable. Les enfants ont particulièrement apprécié la piscine ! La maison convient parfaitement pour l'occupation de 2 familles. Nous recommandons chaleureusement cette location.

Casa de Saudade c'est une location chique et modern aux milieux d'une nature typique avec beaucoup de silence et d'espace. On fait des vacances aussi en été et les années passés et toujours il y eu d'améliorations et la même propreté. L'automne prochain on va revenir avec plaisir.
