A detached, fully air conditioned (hot / cold), 4 bedroom villa in a small complex of 7 villas around a shared pool. Small private lawned area and terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. The villa is on two levels with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and garage on the ground floor and large lounge, dining area, kitchen, master bedroom, bathroom, separate WC and terrace to the lower floor. The bedrooms sleep 8 persons and we have a single and twin casual put up beds to sleep 3 more people which can be placed in the bedrooms. We also have two baby cots available.

I am a Chartered Accountant and I am now semi retired after working in the Construction Industry for 25 years. My wife Karen also works part time and is a keen horse woman and gardener with much of her time these days spent driving our eldest daughter to 3 day eventing competitions.

We live in Rural Leicestershire and my main interests include bee keeping cycling and light aviation.

We visit Playa de Pals as often as we can during the Spring and Summer months.

We found the villa to be of a great standard even for three mums with children under the age of four stuck indoors for a couple of days! The house manager, Peter was of great help and was very friendly, prompt and had a wonderful knowledge base of the area which proved to be invaluable. You were easy to deal with and very flexible and accommodating - we had odd hours and winter dates etc. The house was really well presented, clean, tidy and had all the amenities one could need etc.. We would def recommend you to friends and family in the future. J.M.



The villa complex of 6 or so well maintained houses was beautiful, the villa clean and spotless with all mod cons. The pool area was lovely and well kept by gardeners. Midweek in July was ideal as all other villas are owned by weekenders Barcelona, so we had the whole pool area to ourselves midweek. Lovely area, very picturesque, rugged coastline with pretty coves. Completely unspoillt and no sign of tourist invasion.

Lovely Villa in Playa de Plas

This is a lovely villa which our family really enjoyed for 2 weeks in July 2016 – a great location for the beach, golf course & tennis but also for day trips to the various towns in the area. The villa is in very good condition and is very comfortable - the aircon is a fantastic bonus.

The internet was down when we arrived (through no fault of the owner) but Kurt, the property manager, was very helpful and arranged for this to be fixed within a couple of days.

Highly recommended.

This is the sixth time we have stayed in this villa and we continue to be more than happy with our choice.

Pool and gardens are well cared for and the villa has all you need. Clean and well maintained. Close to the beach and local shops, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

The owners and local manager are very helpful.

Nice to be back!

Returned to this property this year having been to a couple of others in Pals due to changes in the size of our party. It was as good as we'd remembered from our previous visits.

The property is well maintained, clean and well stocked. Both owners and local manager are extremely helpful, with the local manager being on hand to help with any issues/problems that may arise.

We holiday early in the year and generally have shared pool to ourselves. Villa is convenient for beach (about 15mins walk) and also for supermarket, tennis club, golf club etc. Favourite restaurant, Solimar, on beach, we would recommend, and golf at Emporda Golf Resort. A car isn't necessary unless you want to go further afield.

Looking forward to our next visit in 2014.

My wife and family have been visiting Playa de Pals for more than 30 years and bought this villa in 2006. We also own another apartment in the same area. The villa at 33 Calle Mora is very new and was only 3 years old when we purchased it. Playa de Pals is a wonderful place and if you have not visited we think you are in for a treat. Uncommercialised and quietly special. It is the weekend and vacation play ground for many of the wealthy families of Girona and Barcelona and many of the restaurants and other businesses are just first rate to service that market. The other 6 villas that comprise our development are all owned by Barcelonan families. As a result, outside of August, our guests often have the place to themselves during the working week. PLEASE NOTE: We do not use the Owners Direct online booking and payment service and as such no surcharge will be imposed by Owners Direct on your booking. We are unfortunately penalised for doing this by Owners Direct making it harder to find our property when you conduct a search however having offered our property on Owners Direct for 10 years we are of the opinion that our clients should have a direct relationship with the owner and so should not have to pay 6% to an intermediary for that privilege."

Special interest holidays:

There is an English run PADI approved scuba diving school in Playa de Pals who run the full range of diving courses from beginners half days to open water and dive-master rating training. The tennis club is 300 meters away with court and racquet hire available. Wind surfing, sailing and kite boarding are all available on the beach at Playa de Pals. Cycles can be hired locally and there is extensive coastal and inland hill walking available.

Coast/Beach:

The beach at Playa de Pals is more than 6 miles in length and is the second longest sandy beach on the Costa Brava. A quiet spot therefore can always be had. It is just 1 km away and an easy walk, but there are many access points with adequate parking for those carrying extensive beach equipment. Quieter sections of this beach and a number of the coves to the south are given over to naturism. The coves of Aigua Freda, Sa Tuna and Aigua Blava are not to be missed.

Travel:

Girona airport is 50 minutes away. Barcelona and Perpignan airports are 1.5hrs - 90km away. The vilage of Flaca (30 mins - 20km) for RENFE mainline railway services including direct trains to Barcelona. Car hire is essential in Pals - recommended hire companies available on request.

Distances:

The closest supermarket, bar, hot food and take away pizza etc is 300 meters away. The beachside hamlet of Playa de Pals is 1 km away with restaurants and bars running down to the beach. Pals is a delightful medieval village just 5 km inland which has been carefully restored to reflect it's position as one of the prominent fortified villages of the Baix Emporda and has many restaurants. There is good shopping in the nearby town of Palafrugell with a vibrant Sunday and daily food markets.

Further Details:

The hilltop village of Begur is not to be missed with it's beautiful square and many restaurants. The beautiful Gothic city of Girona is only a 40 minute drive and with the famous Salvador Dali museum of Figueres also only 40km away. A day trip to Barcelona can also easily be planned using the excellent railway service from nearby Flaca which delivers you directly to the Placa de Catalunya in the center of Barcelona.

Changeover Day:
Change over day is customarily Saturday with the villa to be vacated by 10.00am and available to new arrivals by 17.00 pm. Out of season lets may be accepted on a mid week arrival / departure basis to take advantage of lower cost midweek flights.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property in Euros per week.
Discounts available for low season lets of a week or longer for the periods before July and after the end of August. Also mid week flexible arrival and departure dates are available for these periods to offer the advantage of lower mid week flight costs.

Due to the age and location of our property we believe this represents one of the better quality rental properties available in Playa de Pals. It is modern and well appointed with a full air pump air conditioning and heating system. We have high speed broadband access through a wireless router and provide really good quality fluffy towels and fine cotton bed linen within the booking price. We also have an English and Spanish speaking Pals resident who acts for us and will welcome you to the villa and look after you during your stay. He only looks after this one property for us. We like to offer a really personal family service as distinct to trying to deal with a disinterested agency often miles from the rented property. We have further details of the local area available on request.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The villa is fully air conditioned with a modern heat pump system giving central heating for early / late holidays and air conditioning for the Summer. The villa also has an ADSL Broadband Internet connection through a wireless router for guests who need connectivity while away through a smart phone, tablet PC or laptop with wireless connectivity. Access to the villa is from a private drive, enclosed by a substantial gate, leading to the integral garage and the upper floor with stairs to the lower floor living area. We have a local agent who will welcome you to the villa and assist with any problems and is happy to offer advice regarding the local area. He can also provide an initial grocery basket on request - payable locally. In the interests of all guests 'No Smoking' is the policy in the villa. Outside: There is a shared pool (10m x 5m) set in meticulously maintained lawned gardens. The villa has a private lawned garden enclosed by a hedge and a raised covered patio off the dining area with two patio tables and sufficient chairs. Sun loungers and a barbecue are provided. Utility Room: Utility area in the large integral garage with washing machine, utility sink, iron and ironing board, hoover and cleaning equipment. Numerous beach inflatables and sun loungers are provided for use in the garden. There is a large number of children's toys Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: High quality bed linen, bathroom and beach towels are provided in the rental price. End of stay cleaning included in the weekly rate, mid stay cleaning and linen is provided for holidays of 2 weeks or more, or by arrangement (at additional cost). Other: There is a selection of books and games and a detailed guide to the local area detailing beaches, favoured restaurants, shopping etc. available.
