Apartment located in Meia Praia, Lagos, Western Algarve - Peaceful Location, 15 Minutes Walk To The Beach And 20 Minutes To Lagos Marina

This Moorish style very spacious 3 bedroom apartment is well located on the complex, with a south westerly facing main covered balcony that offers hours of sunshine throughout the day and early evening with comfortable seating even if it should rain. The location is ideal as either a base to explore the Algarve, walk to the beach/Lagos, play golf locally or simply relax in the picturesque surroundings nestling in adjacent open countryside with views to the Monchique mountains. Completed in 2005 the fully insured apartment is elegantly furnished throughout and complete with full air conditioning, ventilation fans, Wifi, UK tv channels and a security safe. Each bedroom, lounge and kitchen have balconies for seating or enjoying the views. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern state of the art appliances. In addition to the main heated pool is a safe toddlers/baby pool and a shaded child play area and tennis court. There is an excellent restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with the option of al fresco dining. The poolside bar is a favourite to cool off during the day and the warm evenings.

About Doug & Sue Hawkins

We live in Cambridgeshire, England, married with two sons and four grandchildren. We are both enjoying our retirement and visiting our apartment in Portugal. I play golf, enjoy gardening and horse racing, My wife loves looking after the grandchildren, walking, reading and volunteer work. We have always enjoyed holidays in Portugal particularly the Algarve's west coast region around Lagos.

Why Doug & Sue Hawkins chose Lagos

During 2011 we holidayed at Jardim da Meia Praia and stayed in an apartment with our son and his family.

We found the location was ideal, within easy reach of Lagos, the beaches and golf courses, at the same time being secluded in the quiet countryside. We were so impressed with the apartments, landscaped gardens and general ambiance of this friendly complex that we decided to purchase a property to provide us and our family with many years of relaxing holidays.

What makes this apartment unique

Prior to purchasing our property we looked at many properties on the complex, we chose our apartment for its location on the first floor and for the quite surroundings. With a west facing main balcony looking out onto gardens and trees and the second bedroom balcony looking out to the pool area. 0ur apartment location offers a bright and airy interior and a relaxing environment with hours of sunshine throughout the day and into the early evening hours.

Fabulous holiday!

Have just returned from a fabulous trip to this beautiful part of the world. This was our second stay at this resort which ticks all the boxes for our family of 5. The apartment was lovely - extremely well equipped, very spacious, good decor and comfortable. Perfect! The owner, Doug, was helpful and responded very quickly to any questions that I had.

The resort itself is very well maintained and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Had some nice meals at the Destino bar and restaurant which was reasonable in price. Our teenagers enjoyed the games room and made use of the tennis court whilst our 6 year old had fun in the small playground.

I would advise hiring a car as the centre of Lagos is a fair walk (especially if you have children) and there are some beautiful beaches that are worth discovering. Would definitely recommend this apartment and this area!

Great apartment, definitely recommend

We loved staying at apartment 205 and had a fantastic holiday. The apartment was very spacious with three large bedrooms, plenty of storage space and ample living space too.

The whole apartment is very well equipped, especially the kitchen – we wanted for nothing except perhaps a couple more sharp knives – and the addition of a box of beach toys was particularly appreciated. The décor is really well done and very nicely kept and there is with plenty of space to eat outdoors (which we did for every meal) or indoors should you prefer. The light airy lounge was also well equipped, with games, DVDs and music available for rainy days.

The two bathrooms are nicely finished and big enough for our needs and there were plenty of towels for all four of us.

Air conditioning was available but we didn’t need to use it, finding the fans in each bedroom adequate at night.

The view from the main balcony is over the main gates to the resort, which is less picturesque than other outlooks but actually more private.

The location of the apartment on the resort is great, very close to the pool and garden area and an easy trip in the lift to the underground carpark, very welcome with tired and hot children coming back from the beach.

The resort itself is lovely; the pool is great, prices at the bar / restaurant reasonable, and everywhere are immaculately kept. The sports court (tennis, basketball or football)is good for active teens and the play area kept our under-fives amused too. The manmade stream and ponds are a nice addition, lots of fun frog spotting. The resort is in a good location, only a five minute drive from gorgeous beaches, the marina and Lagos town centre.

A wonderful holiday, we’d certainly book again and recommend to anyone looking for a great apartment, on a lovely and well located resort.

Another perfect holiday

This was our third holiday in the apartment and yet again we had a fantastic time. Would definitely recommend this modern spacious apartment which is so well equipped....just like home from home. The complex is perfect for families, safe, secure and immaculate. The on site bar and restaurant offers top quality food which is good value and caters for children. Again we spent lots of time by the pool and enjoyed the happy hours! We would thoroughly recommend a holiday here and hope to return next year. Jane,Craig and boys.

The apartment was excellent very spacious and comfortable excellent facilities. The complex had everything needed for a very relaxing holiday and the people were very friendly and helpful. The location was very good with lots of lovely restaurants at very reasonable prices.

Wonderful family holiday

This was our third holiday in this lovely apartment and one again we have a great holiday. The Combination of the comfort of the accomodation, the facilities of the resort and the great location so close to Meia Praia beach make this a perfect family base. There are 5 of us and finding somewhere which ticks everyone's boxes is a challenge, we find it is met here. We will definitely be back.

Outstanding facilities

We knew the general area but not the complex itself. Exceedingly impressed with the property, fixtures & fittings, the gardens, pool & play courts. Ideal for us, Grandma, Grandad, Grandchildren (ages then 6 years & 16 months) & Mum & Dad.

Notes on accommodation: This large appointed apartment is a blend of modern and traditional architecture, bright and airy with large patio doors and balconies to all rooms. Total floor area 130m2. All bedrooms and the lounge have air conditioning (temperature controlled cooling or heating) and room ventilation fans. Throughout the apartment including the balconies are non smoking zones. A fire extinguisher, fire blanket and first aid box are located within the kitchen area with a security safe in the master bedroom. Cot and highchair hire is available. 24 hour security, night time patrol and cctv. Free Wifi internet access throughout the apartment. The apartment (including balconies) and resort are child friendly and safe. Bookings for golf, sight-seeing trips, leisure etc. available at reception. If there are specific or special requirements, please contact reception or our apartment manager. Outside: The main balcony has relaxing chairs, drinks table, six seater rectangular dining table, chairs and childrens activity box. Allocated car parking space. Extensive communal gardens. Reception facilities. Large solar powered heated outdoor pool and children's pool. Tennis court and racket hire. 'Destinos' family resort restaurant is extremely popular and provides high quality breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner, service is second to none at reasonable prices. There is happy hour between 4.30 - 6.30 pm every day (two drinks for the price of one). A takeaway service is also available if you cannot tear yourself away from the balcony whilst watching the sun go down. Themed evenings, entertainment and barbecues are a regular feature in the summer weeks. The large gardens are a real feature and include a small stream with fish-pools. There is also a designated shaded children's play area within sight of and adjacent to the pool area. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Fresh towels and linen are provided, towels changed mid week, linen once a week. Apartment clean upon arrival.
