We are in our late 60s and were extremely lucky that we could take early retirement in 2000/2001 as this gives us the opportunity to enjoy our grand-children and to spend time at Casa Inshallah each winter. Summers are spent at home in the UK and filled with walking, gardening, DIY, keelboat racing, seeing our family and helping them with their children and their homes.
Paul & Margaret Fisher purchased this villa in 2001
In November 1996 we took our first holiday in the Algarve. We loved it, especially when we chanced upon Luz during a day out on the one damp & cloudy day of our holiday. In those days you could drive down what is now a pedestrian promenade and we were greeted with spectacular views of Black Rock, the adjacent cliffs and wonderful beach. We continued to holiday in or visit Luz and Lagos. In April 2000 we began our search for a holiday home. In October we walked into Casa Inshallah and were greeted by the stunning views from the lounge and terrace. It had to be ours. Since "moving in" in March 2001, we have progressively enhanced the villa during our winter month stays and are now having our 16th very successful letting season. We invite you to share our villa.
Casa Inshallah is located high up in Luz with wonderful views, yet is only a short walk down into Luz or a few minutes drive into Lagos for more shops and larger supermarkets plus the marina and spectacular Meia Praia beach which is some 3 miles long. We are also only some 20 minutes drive from Sagres and the western coast beaches which run for miles and are great for long walks. The A22 motorway is just 5 minutes away. The urbanization in which Casa Inshallah is located is a mix of designs with permanent residences and holiday homes. It was started some 30 years ago & only 2 plots remain on the entire estate neither of which is close to our villa. This is quite unlike several estates in Luz where although started more than 15 years ago, many plots remain undeveloped, leaving them as long-term building sites.
"We all had a wonderful holiday and villa was brilliant - wish we could move in!
"Thanks for a great holiday at your lovely villa! The pics didn't do it justice and we made great use of your facilities and amazing sea view. We definitely book up with you next year as it was so good!"
"Inshallah is a stunning villa with the most amazing views'.
'The villa is fantastic. Pool lovely and warm, kids loved it, we loved it!'
"The villas was absolutely perfect, so clean, well equipped, spacious and ideally situated, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay"
A lovely holiday at your beautiful villa and our only disappointment is that we did not book it for longer. The weather was perfect and the villa was spacious, cool and spotlessly clean.
'Once again we had a superb week's holiday here and are already planning our next trip back'.
'All our stress melted away on opening doors to terrace and the fantastic view'.
'beautifully decorated and equipped, we loved staying there'

Beautiful villa ... tasteful decor, spotlessly clean and very spacious, We really enjoyed our stay here . The communication with Margaret the owner was first class. We would highly recommend. We will definitely book again next time in luz.
We were a party of 6. Mum & Dad , three 17yr olds & 8 yr old. We stayed for 1 week...but would have loved to stay longer. This is a beautiful villa and the description & pictures do not show how homely and stunning it actually is. It is located in a very quiet residential area with beautiful views of the sea & mountains. It is meticulously clean & given that the property is 10 yrs old it is beautifully maintained. I wanted to take that maid home with me.... Gardens are vast and the amount of terracing is extraordinary. We had no car and the walk up the hill from Luz while manageable was not what we wanted on our holiday so we hired bikes and cut the time in half. Unlike the previous reviewer we did not find the local supermarkets expensive in fact they were cheaper than Ireland. We ate breakdast & lunch at the villa & and dined out in the evenings. Our favourite restaurant in Luz was Look Steakhouse & in Lagos "No Patio". You will need to book if travelling in high season. All the information is provided by Paul & Margaret at the villa. They are very accommodating to requests and super quick with their communications. Luz beach has plenty of activities on offer & we did Grotto tour, kayaking & jet skiing all were great fun and very safe. We think this may be the last time our teenagers come away with us and if it is then we can definitely say we went out with a blast. Thank you Paul & Margaret.
The villa is lovely and everything is catered for for small children to adults. Games, toys, books, tv, DVDs, CDs all provided to entertain all during the evenings or a break from the sun. The tv has all English channels. All bedrooms are of a good size and comfortable. The lounge area is large and the kitchen has everything you need. The bbq is a lovely little touch. There is enough room in the villa and the gardens to find peace and quiet and the views from every corner are truly wonderful. The swimming pool is a good size and deep at the far end. The safety fence for both the pool and the roof terrace was re assuring. The villa was immaculate and the information stall in the lounge with maps and attractions again shows how much thought Margaret and Paul have put into this villa and their guests. The communication with Margaret and Paul from the moment we booked til our departure has been exceptional. Especially as we had two of the party under the age of two. The walk into the centre is around a ten minute stroll and is not particularly arduous however, the route back can be difficult in the heat.
Although there are two mini markets in luz which stock your everyday needs, these are expensive. We went to Lagos for the day, which is about a ten minute drive/we got the bus from the main bus stop just outside the church in the centre. After the day spent in Lagos we walked to lidl, which is around a five minute walk from the bus depot. We then got a taxi back to the villa which the lidl staff will happily book for you. This will cost around €11. We done this shop twice during our two week stay and we found that this method was considerably cheaper. A full shop for 8 of us for a week was around €150 /200.
We visited a few restaurants on our stay. We strongly recommend the fort restaurant and paradiso on the beach. Kelly's bar and the bull are also nice bars worth visiting if you want to watch the football. The ice cream factory opposite the church is a must. It has too many flavours to choose from, however, we tried our best to try most. Haha.
Overall, I would strongly recommend this villa to anybody wanting a relaxing well catered break in the sun. We will be certainly returning.
The villa is set in a very nice residential area high over Luz. The villa itself was spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and a homely feel. Kitchen was very well equipped. The toys and books for children were a great idea for anyone with little ones.
The pool area was lovely and well maintained by the visiting pool man. The gardens are extensive and well maintained with plenty of outside space shade or sun. All with lovely ocean or garden views.
The villa does not have aircon but did have a couple of fans i would of preferred a few more particularly in the lounge as it was hot in the evenings when you may just want to watch a bit of TV, but this would not stop me booking.
One thing I would of liked was some water to have been there on arrival as we had a baby with us and immediately needed to find a shop.
Luz is a lovely small town with plenty of nice places to eat and a beautiful beach. We particularly enjoyed YOLO restaurant.
We got a transfer from Faro as we did not think we would need a car but when we tried to get a taxi to pick us up from the villa none of the companies would come! There is a rank in Luz but the taxis are infrequent and on the first day we were stranded with many shopping bags to get back up the hill from the supermarket so we ended up hiring a car. We were glad as we loved the nearby town of Lagos and the little village of Burgau.
The villa was lovely, the garden was beautiful, and the swimming pool was very well maintained. What a lovely spot too!
It really made a difference that there were so many useful items left in the house, such as children's toys etc..., as it made us feel like we were visiting a holiday home rather than a self-catering rental.
The whole rental process was straightforward, and Paul & Margaret were very helpful.
We certainly won't hesitate to go again.
This is a wonderful Villa with all the necessary equipment provided to enjoy a great family holiday. We found everything spotless and clean. The Cleaner, Poolman and Groundsmen were very respectful and kept disruption to a minimum. Getting around the area with a car is very easy as there are lots of facilities close by. The Villa is a credit to Margaret and Paul who gave great communication throughout the rental. I would definitely recommend this Villa to anyone and look forward to returning again in the future. Thanks again Margaret and Paul for a great holiday.. Steve and Karen.
