Bonanza Square is a family entertainment complex with bars, snack bars and restaurants. There is a large shared pool for residents only, no lifeguard. It is 5 mins from Paloma park and 10 mins from the beach. The award winning harbour is a short distance away. Malaga airport is only about 30 euros by taxi. A car is not necessary, there are plenty of buses, taxis and trains available but you can walk to most places

About the Owner

My wife and I were in our fifties when we brought the apartment. We brought it as a retirement home, when we finally get to retire and, as we are both still working, we let it out during the summer. It is principally our second home in a mainly residential block in a family oriented area. It is better furnished than your typical holiday let and there is usually tea, coffee etc in the cupboards and all we ask is that you replace what you use and respect our neighbours.

Looking forward to a return visit

Just arrived back from 10 days holiday in Jon & Carol's apartment on Bonanza square. This apartment is clean and tidy, and is extremely spacious, bedrooms are larger than a lot of ones I have previously stayed in, one having an en suite with another bathroom to service the other two bedrooms. The apartment is on a square where all the local amenities are within 5 minute walking distance, supermarkets, pharmacy, paper shop, dentist, ice cream parlor, restaurants, and bars, with local transport stopping outside. We did a shop at the newly opened Lidl to get some basics, and then went over to the local supermarket which was just across the road for our early morning bread rolls. We hired a car for a week, and traveled on the Saturday down to Gibraltar, only took about 1hr 15 minutes from the apartment. The apartment had everything you could think of, even walking sticks for those less mobile, Shopping trolley, board games and plenty of books to read it you had time. We used the Irish bar called Dec's which is just outside and had very good food there some evenings. My grandson who is a keen scooter player went over to Paloma Park on a few occasions, this is in walking distance of the apartment, there are also many animal attractions to see in the park such as goats, rabbits, and chickens which roam freely. There is a car boot sale there on Sundays and Wednesdays, this is one of the largest car boot's I have ever seen. The apartment is within 10 minutes walking distance of the beach which is downhill, takes a little longer to walk back. I will be looking forward to returning to this apartment later in the year. The customer service was excellent from booking to handing back the keys, lots of information given about contacts whist out in Spain.

Would definitely recommend this apartment

Myself and four friends stayed in this Apartment. And have to say it was a GREAT stay. Had everything you could possibly need, Very spacious, Great layout, Very comfortable and clean. Great location as well. You have a bus service outside(Not that you need it everything is local) that takes you most places and its less than a ten minute walk to the local Train that takes you everywhere.(And is a very cheap way to travel) The beach is literally 5 minutes down the road.. Local Amenities are great with a supermarket right at your door.. Cant fault it. I have stayed in lots of apartments in this region for the past 8 years and will defiantly stay at this one again. Thanks for a great trip....

Will go back again

We had a lovely time in the apartment ,it was everything that we hoped for. We had very good service from the manager. We would definitely recommend it to friends and relatives. Having visited Benalmadena for a number of years this is the first time we have been in Jon's apartment but it wont be the last I'm sure. thank you again for your lovely apartment

Looking forward to going back ...

A most enjoyable stay in an apartment that’s suitable for families or couples looking to enjoy the Spanish sunshine. Ideally located for the beach, bars, restaurants, snacks, shops etc and is pleasantly spacious for everyone staying so you can enjoy your own space.

This is the third time I’ve stayed in Jon’s apartment, the location is perfect as you are within walking distance of many restaurants and bars, a further 15 minute walk brings you to a beautiful sandy beach where there are even more. You can follow the promenade to Benalmadena Marina too – well worth a visit.

The apartment has everything you can think of, a true home from home so you don’t have to go out every night, we spent a few lovely evenings sitting on the balcony eating home-made tapas with a bottle of sangria – gorgeous.

Looking forward to going next year with my in-laws, thank you!

Bonanza Square Apartment with great pool

From the initial booking to the actual weeks stay it was a pleasure, Jon the owner was a delight to deal with.

The apartment was spacious and well equipped, ideal for all parties.

The secluded pool was a great size, lots of space to sunbath and never very busy.

Everything you require to have a great holiday and would highly recommend.

Bonanza Square Apartment

A very spacious 3 bed apartment. Spotlessly clean and tidy with two bathrooms. Very well equipped. The combined living room and dining room is big enough for all the family. The table on the balcony was an ideal place to eat. It is surrounded by bars and restaurants/snack bars. There is a large Spanish supermarket and a little Kwicksave. I found it an ideal family holiday apartment with everything on hand in the area. The pool area is fenced off and gets the sun nearly all day. It is not busy even at peak times. I would recommend this apartment and we will return.

From the Owner

We love the area, there are so many bars and restaurants within walking distance, principally run by Brits, so no language problems. The local Spanish are friendly and love the kids. We don't use a car, the airport is close and a friend collects us. Everything you want is close by and we walk or get a taxi.

The beach is 10 mins walk away. The award winning harbour is 20 mins walk along the promenade. Tivoli World is a small amusement park and there is a cable car to the top of the mountain overlooking the coast. Paloma park is 5 mins walk away and it has a small zoo and also a separate dolphinarium where you can swim with the dolphins.


Malaga airport is about 10km away, 20 mins by car or taxi. A car is not needed as all amenities are within easy walking distance. The local train to Fuengirola or Torremolinos is 10 mins walk.


The apartment is in the centre of the entertainment complex. All of the local bars do not stay open late so there are no all night bars or discos within hearing. However, there are plenty within either a short walk or taxi ride.

Further Details:

Benalmadena harbour is an award winning complex of bars restaurants and night clubs. By the harbour is 24 hour square where you can dance the night away.

  • Notes on accommodation: The pool is behind locked gates and is for the exclusive use of the occupiers of the apartment block. As most of the occupiers are residents, it usually does not get crowded. There is not a lifeguard. There is now an identification system to ensure that only residents and their guests can use the pool. It is only officially open mid June to mid September, but can be used at other times The apartment is close to the Church of England church. Outside: Large shared pool. Sunbathing area with shades, but loungers are not provided. Utility Room: Washing machine, iron and ironing board and drying rack. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen and towels, except beach towels, are provided and are changed every week. The property is cleaned after every occupant. The client is responsible for cleaning during their stay. Other: Large balcony with table and chairs for 4 and 2 seater sofa.
