This continually updated apartment is beautifully finished and comprehensively equipped to a tasteful, contemporary standard. The living space comprises open plan main lounge area and kitchen, dining table, double bedroom, bathroom and toilet, and substantial storage. There is a large terrace equipped with furniture. The lounge area features a large corner settee that converts to a double bed. The entrance also features ski / bike storage with tools. The apartment has television with bluetooth enabled audio sound bar, and full wifi capability.

The lighting has been designed with calm ambience in mind.

About Catherine

Hi we are an active group of friends (we all ski and snowboard) so we bought a place in the Alps. We can only get there a few times a year so we dont mind renting to like minded people (families or couples!) who will find pleasure in enjoying what we have created.

Why Catherine chose Portes du Soleil area

After we purchased the apartment, we totally renovated and still keep adding and changing to continually improve it.

This has to be one of the best locations in Avoriaz. It is private (no-one can pass the property), but with great access and perfect views.

We love it and go there winter and summer.

What makes this apartment unique

As described above, this is a great little cosy hideaway, only feet from the snow and very close to the telepherique so you can get to your car then to Morzine very easily. It is also close to the town, but without the noise and bustle. Get it booked!

Special interest holidays:

Mountain Biking: The Portes du Soleil is widely regarded as being a mecca for mountain biking. The linked lift system allow mountain bikers to cover lots of different terrain across all levels of riding whilst having the stunning backdrop of the French Alps. 26 cable cars and chairlifts give unrestricted access to over 1000kms of tracks and paths. There are 9 permanent downhill courses, bike cross and slalom courses as well as numerous 'bike playgrounds'. In the Portes du Soleil, there is riding to suit everyone, regardless of ability - from easy trails to fast technical descents. The lifts open from the end of June through to the beginning of September allowing riders to access the massive network of tracks with minimal uphill effort.

Travel:

We assume that you will probably arrive in Geneva, which is the closest airport and is around 2 hours away from Avoriaz. There are numerous ways to get to Avoriaz include bus, transfers and car hire.

The best access is from the Telepherique. Please check before you travel, we will advise...

Distances:

Short distance from Morzine. Very close to Avoriaz centre.

Further Details:

Bars: There are loads of options really, but we have particularly enjoyed the ambience in Globetrotters.

Restaurants: You can’t go wrong with Boule de Neige for standard Italian fare, plus it’s not too far away from home when its –20 degrees… Other than that, take your pick of the multitude of places up the main drag.

Out and About: If you head out during the day to Switzerland, you just have to go to Chez Denis which is in Plaine Dranse (next valley over from Lindarettes; tel. 00334 50 73 36 29). Actually that’s not a suggestion, it’s an order! Just make sure you get there early, and expect to stay for a bit - and don’t think about skiing hard afterwards, because you won’t be able to!

Booking Notes:
Please email for further booking information. A deposit of 20% is required within 10 days of making the booking and the balance of the payment is required at least 10 days prior to departure. For further information about availability and booking - please contact for details.

Changeover Day:
Any changeover day is permitted however there is a minimum of 4 nights stay required.

Notes on prices:
Prices outside a specified period is at £175/night. Every booking will incur an additional £95 service charge for key management, linen and change over service. It is expected that the property will be left in a clean condition, with all bedding and towels removed and left in the entrance area. A surcharge may be made for any remedial work required or breakages incurred.
