About the Owner

Hello, Currently living in Bushey North London but hoping to one day move to Turkey. I first discovered kalkan purely by chance,in 2005 when

I was browsing through the classified ads in a classic car magazine when I saw a beautiful villa advertised in the town of Kalkan, unknown to my wife I booked a two week holiday. On arrival in Kalkan we were taken back how truly beautiful Kalkan was.

We were fortunate to find that the villa in front of the one we were staying in was still up for sale.

By the end of the holiday the first steps in buying the villa were in place. We returned to Kalkan later in October 2005 and this was the first time we stayed in our very own slice of paradise.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had such a fantastic holiday, it was our first time to Turkey, we found the villa provided everything to help make this a holiday to remember, we will defiantly be booking the villa for next season, many thanks to Kevin for arranging hassle free airport transfers too. D Turner and family, Reading, Berks

I was told to take a relaxing holiday and time out from work due to health problems. After floating on the sunbed in the stunning pool for the best part of a week I feel totally refreshed. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone, it's as good as it looks in the pics and some. Pete Blake, Watford, Hertfordshire

Beautiful, stunning, gorgeous. That's my teenage daughters words describing your villa Kevin. She's hard to please at the best of times but she and the rest of the family loved the way the villa was presented. Mehmet the property manager was a great help. You try and stop us booking again. Fantastic Family Holiday

Just to say a massive thank you to Kevin for letting us stay in his villa for 12 nights at the end of October. It was our first time to Kalkan and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, which was a well earned break away from our busy lives.

The villa is very well equipped, including washing machine, microwave, juicer, hairdryer and even helpful little things like adaptor plugs, lightbulbs, games, DVDs and books. Everything has been thought of! Inside, the villa was clean and spacious. The two main bedrooms are large with en-suite bathrooms with shower cubicles. The attic room has a steep sloping ceiling (most adults would struggle to stand up) but our 11 yr old daughter was fine and her balcony certainly had the best views. Although there is access to TV we preferred being able to Bluetooth music through various speakers. Outside, the villa commands wonderful views of the bay with a lovely mountain backdrop. The swimming pool and patio area was cleaned daily by Mehmet, who was a complete star and nothing was ever too much trouble, from arranging car hire (which turned up almost instantly!) to replacing light bulbs. The pool was fairly cold (it was October after all) but it didn't stop us getting in almost daily! The evenings got dark fairly early but the sunsets from the villa were wonderful.

The town of Kalkan is beautiful and the scenery around amazing. The people are very welcoming & friendly. There are plenty of shops which are open until late and so many wonderful restaurants. We ate somewhere different every time we went out and the meals were always excellent. We walked into the town & harbour but it is very steep. Although possible to walk back up the hill, after the first attempt we took a taxi, which was easy and cheap. There are supermarkets within about a 10 minute walk of the villa. We had organised airport transfers through Kevin and then we hired a car for part of the holiday. It was lovely to visit other places, including the nearby town of Kas - the drive there along the coast had amazing views. We also visited Lycian ruins at Tlos, Xanthos and Patara. Although there is a small beach in Kalkan, the huge beach at Patara is amazing - the sand is beautiful and the sea is warm, shallow and amazingly clear. We also took a boat trip out of Kalkan harbour and spent a very relaxing day on the water.

Kalkan certainly delivered a relaxing & friendly holiday and Kevin's villa was like home away from home. Hopefully we will be back again one day.

fantanstic holiday

We had a very enjoyable 10 days in this lovely villa. The villa is very well appointed with beautiful views of Kalkan, home from home. Getting down to the harbour is about 15mins walk, but it does seem more than double that walking back up! we tried it once then got a taxi back the rest of the time, which is very cheap. The property manager is more than helpful which we discovered on our second day when we locked ourselves out and within 10mins Memmhet was outside with another key. The resort is very beautiful, spoilt for choice with all the fab roof top restaurants, and lots of shops selling everything are all open late. The excursions on offer are very extensive and good value, the scuba diving was a highlight for us. Kevin was also very accommodating to us, our flight home was late in the day and we stayed till quite late in the afternoon in the villa, thanks Kevin. All in all a great holiday in a wonderful setting. We will most definitely be back to Kalkan sometime in the future, no hesitation.

We are a family of 5, all pretty much adults and have literally just got home from two fantastic weeks in Kevin's villa and in what could be our new favourite place.

The villa is a good size and easily accommodated us all with space to spare. All terraces overlook the bay, missing the view already, and all of the bedrooms are of a good size, although the bedroom on the top floor with the two single beds has a lower ceiling but was fine for our 19 and 14 year olds, just mind your head.

The villa is very well equipped and will cater for just about everyone, however there are steps up to the villa. The villa is looked after by Mehmet, absolutely great guy, who kept the villa's gardens and pool spotless and was always willing to help.

Kalkan is an absolutely brilliant place. We ate out most times at many of the roof top restaurants looking out across the bay and they all provided fantastic service, great food and all have a great atmosphere.

Kalkan is conveniently located for visiting many other places, Patara Beach being one. Apart from swimming in the warm water on a safe beach, which can get some reasonable waves from time to time and the sand is so, so hot, so take flip flops so you don't burn your feet while you watch the sun go down.

Would we go back..........you bet.

Many thanks Kevin and Mehmet, for a very, very enjoyable stay.

This was our first time to kalkan we have been to other places in Turkey before however kalkan was amazing !! The resteraunts the people the scenery all absolutely brilliant.

The food in all of the resteraunts was so reasonably priced and so good ! Even my fussy partner really enjoyed it !

Now on to the villa Only really needs one word to describe it PERFECT the views over kalkan were brilliant and the pool was in the perfect spot we spent from 8 in the morning to 5 6 in the afternoon outside and regularly walked down in to kalkan for bites to eat at lunch time. The hill is steep however we were aged between 16 & 50 and we all managed to get up and down it fine however after a few to many beers at night always ended up in a taxi back to the villa it only cost a few quid.

We would deffonatly go back to KalKan and also Kevin's villa as it was perfect

Thanks a lot kevin

From the Owner

The villa has such a beautiful position with mountains to the rear stunning views of Kalkan harbour to the front . Being a gadget fan myself I have shipped out high end entertainment equipment to the villa. After listening to various guest comments and enquiry emails I have had wifi installed to make staying in contact with emails and the internet easier. Being a keen cook my wife has taken care to make sure everything is in place in the kitchen that guests may require to replicate the fine Turkish cuisine. Having a 5 year old son ourselves who has been coming out to the villa since he was 6 months old there are plenty of toys etc for all ages of children.
