Holiday Apartment in Latchi, Nr. Polis, Cyprus - Set in a Small Complex

Two bedroom, ground floor modern apartment, light and airy, with large balcony, sleeps 4 people. Situated in a small complex in the coastal village of Latchi, in the North west corner of the Greek part of Cyprus. Latchi is a pretty fishing village with a spectacular backdrop of hills and mountains, close to the Akamis National Park. An ideal location for leisurely strolls or all day rambling, boating, or relaxing on unspoilt beaches.There is a good choice of restaurants and tavernas by the harbour or alternatively a few minutes walk in either direction from the village centre. Our favourites are Nicandros, who do the most amazing pork chops, and Faros. They both have varied menus, really friendly service and are good value for money. There is an excellent fish and chip restaurant in Polis called Fry-Day, located where the road from Polis comes to a give way to the Paphos/Arkaga road. Our favourite daytime walk is along the coastal path to Polis, which takes about 45 minutes, an iced coffee (in a pint glass with ice cream, amazing) at Savvas cafe, a lovely friendly place, and walk off the calories on the way back.

About The Owner

We are a married couple, recently retired. We like walking, tennis, swimming, keeping fit, reading and having lazy holidays.

We, and one of our 2 grown up children, bought the apartment in 2007 as an investment, to use for holidays and to rent out. Our decision to buy in Latchi followed a detailed search, and was heavily influenced by the unbelievable views from the apartment, from Latchi and the surrounding coastline, and the nearby Akamas peninsula.

Why The Owner chose Paphos region

The scenery, both in the immediate area and for miles around, is spectacular. The village is quiet but has enough shops and a good choice of tavernas to give the option of not having a car.

It is close to the Akamas national park, an unspoilt peninsula with endless walks and total peace and quiet.

What makes this apartment unique

All facilities are within easy walking distance.

A bus service to Paphos, via nearby Polis, runs from the village.

Use of a large communal pool, only used by people staying, or living, on the complex.

A large balcony with views to the sea and surrounding hills.

It is a short stroll to the beach and shops including a small supermarket stocked with fresh fruit and vegetables. The harbour offers boat hire and trips, and water sports, and a choice of restaurants and tavernas.


Paphos airport is 45 mins by car or taxi. Once in Latchi, a car is a luxury for visiting the more distant places. There is a bus service to The Baths of Aphrodite, and to Polis, from where there is a service to Paphos.


The apartment is in Latchi village. Polis is approx 3km. Paphos is approx 40km (24 miles).

Further Details:

To the east of Latchi is Polis, a traditional Greek town built around its small square. As well as the option of bus or car, there is a lovely coastal walk. The old part of Polis has a narrow cobbled street with a good choice of restaurants; the evening atmosphere is well worth experiencing. For walkers, ramblers and anyone who loves the outdoors, Latchi is on the edge of the Akamis, a 250 square kilometre area of outstanding natural beauty, with its deep gorges, wild landscapes, unique flowers, rare birds, wide sandy beaches and breathtaking views. Of all the articles we have read, the one which we found to best describe it was very simple ‘an unspoilt wild place of sheer natural beauty’. There are 2 local access points, one 4km along the coast at the Baths of Aphrodite and one 3km into the hills behind Latchi in the quaint village of Neo Chorin.

Notes on accommodation: A large, 21 sq.m., sea facing balcony with retractable awning is accessed through the patio doors of the lounge. It has panoramic views of the sea and surrounding mountains, an ideal spot for eating in. Outside: There is a good sized and well maintained pool, for residents only, situated some 50m from the property. The ground rises to the rear of the complex. As a result, access to the apartment is on the ground floor, but the front balcony is raised, enhancing the views. There is ample car parking space close to the apartment entrance. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included, the property is cleaned and also checked just before your arrival. Teresa who look after the cleaning of the property leaves her phone number in the apartment for if there are any queries or problems during your stay.

The apartments are in need of referbishment, which is now underway. The pool is nice, and quiet.

Barking dogs in the early hours was unwelcome, and our bed was very hard, and made for restless sleep.

Great apartment in great location

Great apartment with all the required facilities and very well maintained, excellent location for shops, restaurant and beach. Quiet and peaceful. Use of shared pool. Overall a great place to stay.

Only one tiny criticism in that double bed mattress is getting a bit past it's best.

Excellent location, just off of Latchi main street. Great air conditioners and 3 suitable mattresses. An issue with the plumbing and subsequent cockroaches was delt with in the first few days. Ended as a great overall experience.

Owner's Response: Good concise feedback from these guests. Just to put the plumbing issue into perspective, I had someone from the management company which maintains the site attend our property, and a subsequent email to say there was not a problem. This was not the case; previous guest(s) had obviously ignored the clear sign not to put toilet paper down the loo, and caused the pump to jam. I called in the management company again, and the problem was dealt with properly. Very frustrating for our guests and ourselves.

Great Location

Cracking little Apartment which, much like the Ronseal Advert, does exactly what it says on the tin. Everything you could want from a holiday accommodation. Plenty of room to relax, Air Con for those hot hot nights and for those needing to cook a perfectly adequate kitchen area in which to prepare and cook and to wash the dishes.

The location is but a two minute walk to the Harbour/Marina where there are plenty of Eateries and Souvenir shops as well as Boat trips, water sports and private boat hire facilities. Taxis and Car Hire are available and there is a lovely coastal walk into Poils some 45 minutes or so. The Beach is also right on your doorstep with Sunbeds available and there are also Beach Bars serving ice cold drinks and food to those who need the extra minutes of sun to top up the tan.

Great place to base yourself if you fancy exploring the coastline and many villages......the Views are quite spectacular!!!

We spent a very pleasant 10 days in Latchi in this apartment. It's close proximity to the sea and the marina make this a great place to stay. The restaurants a stroll away are good and varied. There is a long boardwalk in the Polis direction, ideal for strolling and running. The mountains nearby are an absolute pleasure to walk in. We also enjoyed Polis, a typical Cypriot town. Pafos is easy to reach for antiquities and we enjoyed the beaches at Coral Bay and Kourin.

The apartment is well equipped and the balcony offers good views.
