You can’t go wrong with this special seafront villa at Patara Prince Resort, air-conditioned throughout, with our own WI-FI network, TV, DVD and CD players.. The garden setting near the end of the shore line of villas is idyllic, with the adults’ pool just below the villa and unimpeded views out to sea across the garden. The main pool and sea bathing (the water is blue-flagged for quality) as well as water sports are also only a few steps away through the garden as are a choice of sunbathing platforms.
Grania’s House is suitable for all age groups, from romantic honeymooners to couples to families with young children and/or teenagers to parents and children with grandparents. Patara Prince Resort is unparalleled for its excellent architecture, large pools and beautiful gardens, a rare verdant oasis. There are several restaurants and bars and a free shuttle minibus takes you up to the top of the resort and an infinity pool, tennis courts and small supermarket.
The ground floor villa entrance opens to a spacious sitting room delightfully furnished with local pieces. Next to it the kitchen provides all you need: full size cooker and extractor, toaster, kettle, coffee-maker, fridge/freezer, and is well-equipped with crockery, cutlery and pots and pans.
From the terrace with cane furniture, dining table and cool, shady corner with cane sofa, take the outside steps down to the garden suite of sitting room, double bed and bathroom with bath and patio with sunloungers.
Upstairs in the villa the master bedroom with double four-poster bed and en-suite shower room has a Juliet balcony to further enhance the view, while the twin bedroom – that view again – has its separate shower room on the landing.
A magical villa for a truly magical holiday!
We feel incredibly lucky to have landed this superbly positioned villa in its ideal setting at Club Patara. Our adult children and families love going there as much as we do when time permits – a perfect contrast both to our own semi-retired lives in a pretty village in England and theirs in more urban surroundings. We bought the villa in 2004 and enjoy letting it out so that others can enjoy the experience.
Grania Brock purchased this villa in 2004
Kalkan and the area have so much to offer. As well as enjoying the beautiful Patara Prince Resort, its large pools and azure sea, we also love walking along parts of the Lycian way to explore the countryside and relish all the classical ruins, not to mention spotting all the wild-flowers in both spring and autumn. In the evenings there is an amazing selection of restaurants to choose from, many on rooftops with stunning views, and we vary our meals from the simple to more glamorous. Both are available, and Kalkan has a very special welcoming atmosphere .
Kalkan – and of course my villa at Club Patara on the prestigious Patara Prince Resort – are really special places for a memorable holiday. Once guests have discovered my villa they tend to return often – many every year. It is ideal both for enjoying the sun and swimming in a glorious location as well as more energetic expeditions to walk inland when the temperature is cooler in spring and autumn. Archaeological buffs will relish the huge variety of classical sites to explore as well. End the day with a meal under the stars or on our terrace gazing straight out over the dark waters of the Mediterranean, and you have the recipe for perfect holiday memories.

I have stayed at Grania's House on many occasions now both with family and friends and it never fails to excite. The House has the most breathtaking view of The Med, the edge of which is only yards away and this amazing view is shared from every room. The house is simply and stylishly furnished to suit the climate but has every facility including modern bathrooms, a utility room, comfortable beds, air con and mosquito nets should they be needed. The Hotel's excellent facilities are close at hand and include sea and fresh water pools and a shuttle boat for the 5/10 minute trip to Kalkan where, if you ever tire of dining on Grania's terrace, you will discover many excellent restaurants, try one of the Korsan Restaurants or The Olive Terrace for starters where the food is beyond delicious and incredibly inexpensive. For those who like to shop the weekly market is a joy as are the many local shops, do travel light in preparation. Define Tours are very helpful and efficient with the airport transfers and other trips you may wish to take. Grania's House is such a special holiday destination and I am almost fearful that a good review will make it impossible for me to get a booking next year.
Once again we have had a lovely holiday in Kalkan. This time staying at 'Grania's House', the villa was very comfy (great nights sleep - good bed and pillows), spacious and facilities were great. When at the Villa we seemed to spend most of our time on the verandah - good chairs, excellent views, spacious and refreshing - we enjoyed 4 relaxing evenings there and had our own BBQ's (great Butcher and Greengrocer in Kalkan near the middle roundabout). Kalkan has some wonderful restaurants to eat out in - in the town we loved Gourmet, Salt n Pepper and Kalamaki - but over in Kisla (5 mins from PP) is Bob's - best Sunset view and Chicken Kavurma plus proper homemade chips. There is no getting away from the fact that PP resort has loads of steps, but that should not affect your enjoyment there is a shuttle bus that will take you from the top of the resort down to the sea running approx every 15 mins and a boat that takes you across Kalkan bay 7.5 tl. PP staff are not great but who needs them. We had a hire car and went to Gocek (on way from airport), Saklikent Gorge, Kas and also used it to take us to Patara Beach an absolute must if you are a beach lover and staying in this area. Also a visit to a local hamam on our first day spruced us all up and got rid of the travel grime - a truly turkish experience. See you soon Kalkan - can't wait...............
We have returned from a fantastic 2 weeks in Kalkan staying in this wonderful villa . It is equipped very well and we had everything we needed . The service we received from Define tours who picked us up from the airport (all arranged by Grania) was exceptional. They were always very friendly, punctual and helpful. The resort was first class and we can not fault any aspect of our stay. We enjoyed the tranquil adult only pool area and in the evening we took the boat from Patara Prince over to the town of Kalkan to enjoy a roof top restaurant . Grania arranged all our transfers which made our holiday trouble free. A great service all round . We would highly recommend this villa . Mike &Claire O'Brien
We have just returned from our fourth trip to Patara Prince Resort and had a lovely time!
Our second stay at Grania’s was just perfect. Everything at the villa was great. No problems. Our friends loved it and said it was just like we told them it would be! Garden down below looks so much nicer now than last time we were there.
Grania's was simply lovely, however we offer here a few comments about the resort in general:
We did notice a little difference with the staff at the hotel and restaurants. They were a little sarcastic to those using the lobby while not guests of the hotel. The front desk manager was often in arguments with guests about something they were not happy about, very emotional, but we attributed that to the style of communication of some of the Turkish people.
The restaurant staff were often overwhelmed when there were quite a few people around, and were completely focussed on the buffet meals served at the hotel lobby restaurant. If we wanted service in the pub or the Italian Restaurant, it seemed very inconvenient, few of the staff spoke English, and it took a very long time. The restaurant manager was clearly overwhelmed and often told us how tired he was (very friendly when he had time:)
We have stayed at PPR 4 times now, and it seemed this time that the staff have come to the conclusion that the villa people are of little or no concern to them. Although we may have eaten at the resort more if we had been made to feel more welcome, it is a lovely place. We still love to wander around the property and enjoy the many lovely spots to linger.
The villa is so large and all-inclusive, you really only need to go up to the hotel for internet access.
We have travelled the world and somehow keep being drawn back to this wonderful place. There is no place more lovely than gazing at the sea from the patio of Grania’s House.
