About this property

This charming studio-style gite is situated next to a 16th century cottage in a secluded, rural location yet only 5 minutes from the nearest village of Sainte-Mere-Eglise. There is a good-sized living/dining area with open-plan kitchen overlooking the garden, itself overlooking an apple orchard regularly occupied by our neighbour's livestock. Beautiful sandy beaches within 8 miles including D-Day landing beaches. The National Parks offer bird-watching, fishing and other rural pursuits. This is an ideal spot from which to explore the delights of Normandy: Bayeux, Coutances, St-Lo, Sainte-Marie-du-Mont and Barfleur are just some of the places within easy reach. There are thriving local markets on most days of the week.

Lovely quite location

Basic gite in great location for historical D- day sites in Normandy. Local town is nearby with all amenities.

A lovely gite in a quiet spot, great location for exploring the D-Day beaches.

We had a lovely holiday and we're made to feel very welcome by Sharon. We would recommend the Gite to friends and family.

Good appartment with a very nice owner

We had a wonderful time in Sharon's appartment in Normandy, nearby saint-mère-eglise. The appartment was clean, everything you needed was there and it has a beautiful garden. The owner Sharon is very kind and helpful. We can recommend this appartment if you are looking for a good appartment in Normandy! :)

Lovely Relaxing Holiday

Had a really relaxing holiday. Gite was lovely and well equipped with everything you could think of,including a BBQ which we used several times. Centrally located for all the Normandy beaches and museums. Sharon was a warm and friendly host. We are looking to go back in 2015-can't wait!!

Why they chose this property

It was love at first sight even though the cottage was crumbling and the garden a jumble of weeds and rubble. The garden's starting to take shape as trees and shrubs begin to mature and every year brings a new plan together. I'm hoping for a wildlife pond this year - if only I can decide where to place it!
