Apartment in Lagos, Algarve - With Balconies, Sea Views and Roof Terrace

Extremely spacious, 2 bedroom, 2nd floor apartment. Very large and well presented with 3 balconies with sea views to front and rear. There is a roof terrace immediately above which is great for barbecues and has wonderful views all round. 10 minutes walk to town centre, 10 minutes walk to beach and 3 minutes drive to Boavista golf course. The apartment is situated in a pleasant tree lined square with ample free parking. There are several nice cafes, shops and restaurants in the square, including O Brasao, which is literally opposite the front door of the apartments.

We live and work in England, Mike in the PVCu window and door industry, Thelma as a children's entertainer and balloon modelling artist. We have two grown up daughters and like to spend as much time as possible in Portugal.

Why Mike Levett chose Ameijeira

We wanted to buy a property as an investment opportunity and a possible future retirement home. As soon as we arrived in Lagos we knew it would be the perfect place for us. It has managed to achieve the right balance of new, such as the marina, and old, such as the city walls and many quaint buildings in the centre of town. There is no shortage of restaurants or bars and there is easy access to many beaches. Within ten minutes drive of our apartment, we can be out in fantastic open countryside, with olive groves and orange, lemon, fig and cork trees.

What makes this apartment unique

Our apartment is situated in a square that is quiet but has a real community feel with cafes, newsagents, a small supermarket and even an ATM machine and public telephones. Unlike most apartments, we have balconies to both the front and rear, meaning not only that the property is extremely light, but we can sunbathe at any time of the day.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment benefits from eco heating system to the lounge and both bedrooms. We encourage our guests to treat the apartment as their home for the duration of their stay. Outside: The balconies and the roof terrace all provide magnificent views. The square consists of a central grassed area with mature trees, surrounded by ample free parking. The square is very quiet, yet has various friendly shops and several nice cafes and restaurants. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen (except beach towels) are provided. The bedding and towels are changed and the apartment is cleaned once a week. Apartment is prepared before each letting. Other: All rooms are accessed from a large pleasant hall.

A Home From Home

A well equipped, nicely appointed and spacious apartment. Within a 15 min walk to Lagos Old Town hosting a variety of good restaurants and cafes. Nearby beaches with the best a 30 minute walk away. Mike and Thelma really provide a holiday home from home and we will most definitely return

clean, comfortable, fantastic views.

We had a great time. Lots of space for two independent introverts to be comfortable! Loved our two meals at O'Braso at the bottom of the apartment block, the local patisserie was a god-send too. Friendly, safe square. Easy drives to beautiful spots in the Algarve and mountains as well.

very large apartment but needs a little upgrading

The 6 flights of stairs proved to be a problem. Okay if you are fit and healthy but not suitable for older guests. Impressed with the space in the apartment and there are 2 new sofas and new curtains, but the cutlery, mugs and saucepans could do with being replaced and maybe ask the caretaker to check that guests have washed them properly before new guests arrive. We had to wash everything before we could use them. Vanda was cheerful and helpful and helped us carry 3 heavy suitcases up all the stairs.

Owner's Response: We do point out in the facilities section of the website that the apartment is not suitable for people with mobility issues. There are approximately 50 steps up to the apartment. We do rely on the honesty of the guests to help to keep cutlery and crockery clean. It is not possible for our agent to make sure every item is spotless between every visit. We are visiting the apartment shortly and will be replacing anything that needs updating. We hope these issues did not spoil your stay in Lagos and you had a good holiday.

Lovely Lagos

We enjoyed this comfortable apartment, our weather was very mixed so we spent more time in than we normally do. It is in an area we had stayed before with lots of lovely cafes and restaurants nearby. It is about a 10 to 15 minutes walk into town which suited us well but there is also a bus which passes by which goes to Porto Mos beach or into town.

Nice apartment, plenty of space, but a little tired

The apartment is well laid out and spacious, but the curtains in the main bedroom were dirty and falling off the hooks. Lights in the bathroom work intermittently and the toilet flush is faulty. The building is a little noisy and the smell of other apartments cooking pervaded our space.

The only decent restaurant in the locality closed for six weeks the day we arrived, so eating out meant a fairly long walk or a drive.

The kitchen has plenty of equipment, but again, blunt knives and worn out pans could be easily fixed.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay but there are some simple improvements that could be made.

This apartment really is ideally situated for access to all the best beaches and coastline in the area, including Meia Praia, Praia Dona Ana, Ponto do Piedade and Porto De Mos to name but a few.


Less than one hours drive from Faro Airport. There is a regular train service between Faro and Lagos.

Lagos is the ideal choice for almost all types of holiday. Whether you like to laze on the beach, play golf or engage in watersports. You can walk in literally breathtaking scenery or explore historic buildings.
