About the property


The location of our houses in this tranquil seaside Spanish village makes it ideal for those who want to have a quiet holiday, and yet be within easy reach of the bustle and night life of a larger town such as Torrevieja.

- Main supermarket and three restaurants within 500 mts from "Mi casita" and 150 mts from "Casa Marina".

- Plenty of bars and restaurants, promenades and blue flag beaches within half a mile.

- Communal pool/garden area just steps away from the back patio door.

- Villa Marina has two large patios at the front and the back, and two sizable sun terraces on the top floor. One of the terraces has views to the Mediterranean and is perfect for soaking up the Spanish sun out of everyone's sight! The other one overlooks the communal swimming pool. The master bedroom also has a balcony. The TV receives all the main British TV channels and Sky.

Mi casita, a five-minute walk from Villa Marina, has a south-facing terrace and patio with beautiful views to a typical Mediterranean park with palm trees, and a smaller patio with a utility room at the back.

About The Owner


Before we bought our holiday home in sunny Spain we used to rent other people's properties for our family holidays. Having had mixed experiences in terms of our own expectations, we are determined to make the booking of your holiday the smooth, risk-free experience that you most certainly want.

We are a very reliable couple, able to provide excellent references from previous guests (some of whom have been back up to 4 times) and from the place where one of us has been working for 22 years.

Why The Owner chose Pilar de la Horadada

Area description

Our house is located in the beautiful sea side village of Torre de la Horadada (or “Torre” for short), at the southernmost end of Costa Blanca, bordering with the province of Murcia. The area is very flat, which makes it very easy to get to the promenades and the local amenities. The nearest bars, supermarket and restaurants are within a five-minute walk. One thing my wife and I particularly like about the area is that there are specific building regulations that restrict building height to 3 floors, so you will enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean gardens and architecture, without the tall buildings so typical of other over-developed areas. This has made Torre very popular among Spaniards and Northern Europeans, especially for retirement or part retirement purposes.

Three of the local blue flag beaches and Torre's marina can be reach in less than 10 minutes on foot. There are at least 8 other beaches, including some in the Mar Menor (Europe's largest sea lagoon) within less than 15 miles north and south of the village. San Pedro's salt lakes, where flamingos can be seen at certain times of the year, are 10 minutes away by car.


The proximity to Murcia airport (less than 10 miles) makes the use of a car unnecessary if you just want to chill out on the beach or by the pool side and enjoy the local restaurants. Alicante airport is appox. 45 minutes by car.


The historic cities of Cartagena, Murcia and Alicante are 30, 40 and 45 minutes away respectively. Torrevieja is 15 to 20 minutes away by car.

Further Details:

Our houses are less than a five-minute walk away from the two local supermarkets and excellent bars and restaurants. The nearest supermarket is just 100 yds away.

Booking Notes:
The cleaning charge of £50 is not included in the price.A £150 deposit is required upon booking, with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to departure. A further returnable £100 security deposit is required to cover any damage. This will be refunded upon satisfactory inspection of the house. All rates quoted include water, electricity, bed linen, hand towels and bath towels.

Notes on accommodation: Both houses are very suitable for couples and families with young children, as they have plenty of outdoor space and in-house entertainment. The swimming pool area, just steps away, can be accessed directly from the houses, through the back doors, or from outside, via the communal gates. The houses have quiet and efficient fans throughout to keep you cool during the summer months. Outside: Sizeable terraces and front and rear patios with and utility rooms. Enjoy the sunshine during the day or just watch the world go by while eating al fresco or enjoying your favourite drink.

Arrived at the villa, Lynn was waiting for us, explained about all the amenities,found the villa clean.

We found the villa small,while adequate for two, anymore than that it was a bit claustrophobic.

Great area, lots of bars and restaurants.

Plenty of walks to fine coves and beaches.

Owner's Response: Many thanks, Brenda, for submiting this review. Before we bought this property we viewed many in the area, as most of them are very small and come with only one bathroom. We were lucky enough to have found "Mi Casita"' with two bathrooms (one even with a bath)and two good size bedrooms, both with built-in wardrobes. The two patios, overlooking the park to the front and the pool area to the back, hardly give the "claustrophobic" feel that you describe. In fact, we get many repeat bookings from couples and families alike. we do appreciate, however, that different people have different requirements. With hindsight, our three-vedroom villa may have been more suited to your needs.
