Coast/Beach:

Manta Rota beach is a 10 min walk (at kids pace) passing a number of cafes and bars on the way. Manta Rota beach is part of the 14km stretch of beach that runs from Vila Real to the east to Cabanas to the west. The beach is guarded in the summer months.

Alternatively drive up to 15 mins to either Cabanas or Tavira and catch a water taxi to participate in activities such as kite surfing, jet ski-ing and pedaloes (summer months only).

Travel:

Faro 37 miles (45km) - drive time 40 mins

Seville 94 miles (150km) - drive time 1hr 45 mins

Jerez 150 miles (245km) - drive time 2 hrs 30 mins

Lisbon 200 miles (325km) - drive time 3hrs 20 mins

Although there is a taxi and bus service in Manta Rota

car hire is strongly recommended in order to get the best out of the region.

Distances:

Vila Real de Santo Antonio - 8km. A picturesque town with marina overlooking Spain.

Tavira - 12km. A charming town dating back to 2000BC. Cafes and restaurants abound.

Seville - 150km. Traditional Spain with siestas, bullfights, tapas and flamenco.

Waterparks - 60km. Both Slide & Splash and Aqualand are within a 1 hr drive.

A number of local festivals take place in the region eg. the medieval festival in Castro Marim, tapas festival in Vila Real, all advertised locally.

Further Details:

The nearest supermarket is in Altura 5km away. However Manta Rota does have a butchers (Portuguese and French spoken) and grocers. In the summer months there is a daily market. There are a number of restaurants, bars and cafes.

Manta Rota also has an internet cafe and cash machine.

A monthly market takes place in nearby Villa Nova de Cacela.

The keyholder will meet you upon arrival and show you around the house.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is preferred changeover day but other arrangements may be available upon request. Arrival time is 4:00pm and departure time 10:00am

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.

  • Notes on accommodation: The house benefits from a small gated private courtyard and a larger communal gated courtyard which is ideal for small children to play in. The house has air conditioning in all habitabal rooms. Outside: There is a pool shared with the other 5 houses on the condominium. Externally the house has a barbeque, external shower and outdoor furniture - all within a private gated courtyard. The condominium has a large communal courtyard with electronic gates which is ideal for smaller children to play in. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided. These are changed weekly. There is a mid stay clean if stay is for two weeks. Price includes end of stay clean. Please bring own beach towels.
