This sunny, south/east facing apartment overlooks the sea front and yacht marina of Antibes. It has superb views from the two terraces. A secure, private entry leads to a short staircase or lift and there is also direct access from the underground garage via the lift, with wheelchair access. Easy walking distance of shops, beaches, Old Town with its colourful market, restaurants, theatre and museums. Two shuttle buses if required to town and beaches, with stop outside the apartment.

About Nick Leader

My wife and I built our house in a small village in the Var 28 years ago and spend six months there every year. We have good friends in Antibes and decided to buy an apartment there which we could enjoy and let from time to time. We aim to meet renters at the apartment to welcome them and see them in. We are now retired, enjoy Canterbury in the winter and France in the summer. We are true Europeans and travel a lot through the continent and further afield.

We are retired modern language teachers,both speak French, love the French way of life and enjoy living in a quiet village as well as being able to reach Antibes in 1 1/4 hours. Total contrast between the two locations. Antibes is superb, a mixture of new and old. Great harbour and old town with wonderful weather and constantly upgraded facilities. Free sandy beaches for swimming, sunbathing and great programme of events in summer and throughout the year, museums, theatres, cinema and street entertainment. Great atmosphere in the evening with families and people of all ages enjoying themselves in the open air. This year 2015 over 80% of our business has been through returning guests.

Atmospheric and relaxing

We have been staying in this delightful apartment for four years now, such that it has become a home from home for a few weeks each summer. The style is Provencal and away from the sleek and predictable lines of most apartments and more spacious than Vielles Antibes cubby holes. Having two floors, family or visitors can have their privacy and so can you. Views from the balcony and the terrace above take in the old town walls and the towers of the Cathedrale Notre Dame and the Grimaldi Palace as well as the nearer sweep of the marina of Port Vauban.

The walk to town is just ten minutes, or local mini buses will carry you to the beaches on a lazy day. The balcony on the lower floor is roomy and airy and a great place to pass the evening as the lights emerge and the purple colours of the evening descend.

If you are looking for a USP and are English then all cares are defeated by Nick and Jill, the owners, who are instantly responsive to any problems and know the area well. For French speakers they are fluent having lived part time in Provence for so long.

This is a relaxed place to stay, away from "busy" in the evening and close enough during the day. With the railway station close and so much within walking distance, including a good restaurant downstairs, as photo, this is your choice. But not our weeks thank you!

Excellent location with wonderful views

A most comfortable apartment, close to the port, the town and to the rail and bus stations, so it is easy to get to other places without the need for a car. We would definitely recommend this apartment and are going again ourselves next year.

Coast/Beach:

10 min walk to 2 beaches, sand and shingle, 10 mins by shuttle bus or car to two further sandy beaches in Antibes. The whole of the Cote d'Azur, beaches in Juan les Pins, Cannes, Nice, Beaulieu, Villefranche, etc, all with free bathing facilities are readily accessible by a short train, bus or car journey.

Travel:

BA, Air France, Easy Jet, Air Lingus and Jet2 depart from nearly all major airports in the UK to Nice airport, 25 mins by car or train, 35 mins by bus. Antibes railway station is ideally placed for arrival by TGV or for trips along the coast. 12 hours driving time from Channel ports via autoroute. A comprehensive network of cheap local buses and trains means that a car is not necessary unless longer trips inland are to be included.

Distances:

Nice 15 mins by train, 25 by car. Cannes similar. Monaco/ Monte Carlo 40 mins by train or car. Menton 50 mins by train or car. Ventimiglia 1 hour. Ideal for anyone wanting to attend festivals along the coast as station is one minute away. Cannes Film Festival,MIPTV, MIPIM,CANNES LIONS,MIDEM,MIPCOM,Nice côté d'Azur boat show,Nice International Trade Fair, InternationalJazz Festival Antibes/Juan les Pins,Monaco Grand Prix, Nice Carnival, Menton Lemon Festival easily accessible from appt.

Further Details:

Local supermarkets, boulangeries, Provencal covered market, wide range of restaurants, banks and shops close by. Picasso Museum in Old Town. Local theatre with some English language productions, cinema with some original version films. Helpful Tourist Office on Rue Robert Soleau near appt. for advice and information.

This apartment is ideally situated for anyone wishing to attend festivals along the coast, thereby avoiding rental prices in Cannes , Nice or Menton which will be two to three times higher.
