About the Owner
We are a family of 4 from the North East of England with our children fast growing up wanted to have a second home in Portugal, where we first visited on our honeymoon.
Balaia has proved the ideal place for family holidays. The fact that our children are now young adults themselves they still enjoy going every year speaks for itself.

“We first visited Balaia as a family in August 2004 after finding the resort on Owners Direct whilst arranging our own holiday instead of usual 'package' holidays. From this very first visit we all fell in love with the place, its location, friendliness, safety and facilities. After returning in 2005 we then went on to purchase our own apartment and completed this in February 2006. The apartment you see is our 2nd home in Portugal. We hope you will also treat as your 2nd home.”
Activity and Interests
Maria Luisa and Santa Eulalia beaches are close by within 5 mins walking distance. Balaia is ideally positioned for short explorations to the fishing beach at Olho's de Agua and into old Albufeira town.
Faro airport is less than 30km away approx 20 mins by car or taxi. Car hire is not essential the local bus service runs past the complex. Travel to Lagos, Loule, Portimao, or Vilamoura with its attractive marina and surrounding golf courses. Also within easy reach are water-parks and a Zoo marine-park, both popular with children. To round off your visit, the Algarve Shopping Mall on the N125 provides a selection of fine shops in a very Portuguese style.
Albufeira is a 5 min car ride or a 20 min walk away and is full of things to do, with plenty of restaurants, bars entertainment and shops. There are several local restaurants, very reasonably priced, within a few mins walking distance of Balaia, offering a variety of menus, in particular, traditional Portuguese fish dishes. There are several small supermarkets nearby for day-to-day needs.
There is on site management and security along with an excellent 24 hour reception, where you can change money, book taxis, book airport transfers, arrange baby sitting, hire cots etc. You will find them always most helpful. Reception also has an internet facility and wireless network access for guests (local charges apply for internet and wireless access).

Contact the owner for availability. A deposit of 20% of the total cost is required upon booking or the full balance of the account if less than 8 weeks to departure. Any balance is due no later than 8 weeks before the apartment rental period or the booking may be lost. Prices quoted include water, electricity, linen and maid service once per full week. Additional services can be arranged such as cot, high chair hire, and airport transfers. Payment accepted in UK pounds or Euros by BACS.
Changeover days are flexible. Check in not normally before 2pm. Checkout by 10am to allow for apartment preparation for incoming guests however this can be flexible with prior arrangement with the owner and subject to apartment availability.

Crossover of dates will be calculated pro rata. Contact owner for discounts on long term lets out of main season.
