This 18th century grange has been recently renovated to a high standard. The cottage is in a courtyard with 100m² garden. Bikes are available for your use. The village has plenty of shops, several restaurants and a Train Station with trains to Paris every 20 minutes, free parking at the station. The area is surrounded by forests and has 7 golf courses within 7km of the cottage. Its 3 hours drive from Calais
My wife and I are English and we have been living in France for 20 years. St.Nom La Bretèche is very close to Paris and is an international community with many nationalities represented. We play a lot of golf (there are 7 great courses within 15 minutes of the house). We both sing in an international 40 singer choir and perform classical concerts regularly in Paris and the region.

Fantastic jogging and cycling trails through the forest of Marly only 100m from the house, the golf courses of Western Paris region within 5 kms, the fact that its 30 minutes by car to the centre of Paris in the evening and weekends. We have a great town of St Germain on our doorstep and the historic Versailles 10 minutes away

After a slight mix up with a double booking,which was sorted very quickly, we were given a smaller studio to stay in. This was a tidy little place with everything you need. Good fast Internet which kept the teenager happy. The studio is set in a beautiful courtyard with a great garden to relax in.
The village itself is a great location to use as a base to explore the local area. A couple of good restaurants within walking distance and great access to the main roads.
Will be looking to go back in the near future.
This is very well presented accommodation on a quiet street (no through traffic) in a village west of Paris. It has everything you need, and was clean and tidy. It has the best collection of books I've ever seen in a holiday let (for once justifying the term 'library'), plus a large number of CDs and DVDs. A really excellent feature. Plenty of cooking equipment if you're not eating out, decent cooker and half-size dishwasher. Great over-bath shower. It's all been furnished with high quality fittings and fixtures. There's a pleasant garden if the weather permits.
Bob & Claire were welcoming, obliging, generous and discreet hosts. If they were not there, then Cecile, who looks after the property in their absence, was very friendly and helpful (though you'll need some French to communicate).
The village is well situated for anyone wanting to visit sites outside Paris such as Versailles and Giverny, while being reasonably well-placed for Paris itself. Rail connections to Paris are nearby- about an hour from door to city centre if you use the RER from St Germaine. There's also a SNCF station just outside the village. There's a very nice boulangerie about 100 yards away, which beats anything in the supermarket, and a mini Carrefour at 1 kilometre.
Overall, absolutely ideal for a couple, and will accommodate more as stated in the listing. Highly recommended.

This is a well situated venue, firstly because of its quiet location in the village and secondly because of the ease to travel from it to the heart of Paris. The cottage is fine with effective heating and all the facilities you need. It is a quiet converted small barn adjacent to the owner's house situated in a pretty courtyard. Although there is only road parking outside the property, during the four days we only had one occasion where we needed to park in the main road - only some 50m, so not a problem. Our British hosts Bob and Claire were friendly and attentive, using their considerable experience to give great 'tourist' advise.
We love this beautiful cottage, so much so, we've been twice this year! It is a great base for a family holiday. The train to Paris Saint Lazare is very straightforward from St Nom la Breteche station which is only a 5 minute drive away. St Nom la Breteche itself is a lovely village and the patisserie at the end of the street sells fresh baguettes, amazing cakes and the best pain au chocolat in France!
We visited and would recommend Versailles, St Germain and Asterix Parc too (great for older children). Although, one of our favourite days was spent sunbathing in the garden :) Thank you to Bob and Claire for making us feel so welcome, we hope to return again soon when the little one's old enough for Euro Disney! Any excuse!!!

Booking is by email to owners and deposit payment can be by UK bank transfer and final payment can be by UK Bank transfer or cash in or Euros. A 25% non-refundable deposit at time of booking is required and the remainder when you arrive.
We are flexible concerning arrival and departure times and there is no fixed changeover day at present.
