Apartment in Salou-Cambrils Vilafortuny, Costa Dorada - Peaceful Location

High standing apartment, very bright inside and out, with a capacity of 6 people. Three double bedrooms complete with wardrobes. The apartment has two bathrooms, one of which is suite-style with a shower and separate bathtub. Fully equipped kitchen with exit to the gallery.

Spacious living room with SATELITE TV and iPAD. We also offer a SKY card adapter so you can bring your own card and enjoy your personal subscriptions.

From the living room you can access the large terrace where you can survey the exclusive community complex formed by a wide area of gardens, palm trees, footpaths, 1 Jacuzzi pool (set schedule), 2 pools for all ages, and 1 specifically for babies. There is also a children’s play area with swings for the little ones of the home to enjoy.

YOU HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT!

In the apartment you will find beach towels and hammocks for use at the beach (cradle availability, if needed).

The complex also includes an underground parking lot with storage. There you will find 4 adults bicycles and 2 kids bicycles ready to be used by our guests.

Near the apartment you will find the towns of Cambrils, Salou, and La Pineda. All of these towns can be easily accessed via bicycle.

If our guests require any kind of information during their stay, we will be more than happy to help. We have children and can offer many tips for family activities.

We recommend renting a car, especially if you are travelling with small children, as the apartment is located in a Residential Zone.

Nice apartment, but not posh!

What sold this apartment to me was the bikes, having two teenage children. This proved to be a good idea, as our son in particular loved being able to be more independent if he wanted to be. When we first used the bikes, they were not in very good condition but I emailed Enrique one morning and he came the same day to try to fix them, even bringing us one bike from his home. Great service. We really enjoyed using the cycle paths between the apartment, Salou & Cambrils although it was a shame it was "uphill" going home!

From previous reviews, I was looking forward to a home-made cake upon arrival but there was nothing in the apartment for us so it's a good job we went shopping on the way!

From the photos, I thought the apartment was going to be quite posh but it wasn't, although it was quite homely. It had pretty much everything we needed, although we found the kitchen very small. There was wi-fi which would have been perfectly adequate for me and my husband, but the teenagers were unhappy with it! It was lovely to sit on the balcony each morning to eat breakfast.

Our half-term was late this year so we arrived at the end of October. We were really lucky with the weather - every day was warm and every day was sunny except the last day, which was just overcast. Everywhere was quite quiet which suited us fine. There were still plenty of places to eat and of course the supermarkets were open. We didn't use the local one at all but the big Esclat supermarket, next to the smaller Lidl, was great and less than a 5 minute drive (cheap petrol too) but we preferred the Aldi near Cambrils - it was always quiet & did lovely fresh bread. The kids used the pool on the first day but unsurprisingly, it was a bit cold at this time of year - I was impressed they went in at all!

Personally,I think you need a car if you stay at this apartment although I can see from the reviews that many people haven't had one. Perhaps because we were in the off-season, I hardly saw any buses and if you have younger children, you couldn't use the bikes. The beach would be a good 20 minute walk & Salou and Cambrils about 45-50 minutes each way.

We paid about £380 for a week which would be more now the exchange rate has worsened. That's fine but I personally do not think this apartment is worth over £1000 in high season.

A note to anyone coming at the same time of year - avoid Port Aventura on Halloween - it was madness and the queues were ridiculous!

Owner's Response: Dear Sarah, Thanks a lot for your review and for your four starts. I appreciate your comments- About the bikes, you are right at the end of the season the status was not perfect. Every end of the season I check all the bikes and fix it if something doesn't works. This year following your tips we plan to add two new ones for children, and add two baby seats on our bikes. I am sorry about the cake, normally I prepare a basket for late arrival checking, but I understand this is important and we will improve it for future guests. This winter we are working on our property to make it more posh and comfortable, I hope I will publish the new pictures during next month, and hope you like it snd you can repeat with us. High season is much better to enjoy the beach, terraces, aquatic parks and local events around the apartment. Is good you test all the supermarkets, in this point, every family choose a different one. In high season there are a good bus service to move to Salou and Cambrils, and also many bars and pubs around, but in November most of the shops and bars are close. You choose a bad day to visit Port Aventura, Halloween nigh is the worst day of the year. Thanks again for your comments, this helps a lot to improve our family holiday property.

Fantastic apartment in a quiet residential area

We had a fantastic 2 week holiday at this apartment in Vilafortuny. The area is quiet, which was good for us, but with easy access to Salou and Cambrils.The bikes came in very handy and we used them most evenings to try out the many restaurants. The property had everything that we needed and so we settled in very quickly. It was also spotlessly clean and the air con worked a treat. The owners, Enrique and Maria, went out of their way to be helpful, answering questions beforehand and giving us a lift from the bus stop to the apartment as well as explaining the apartment, area and other places of interest further afield. They also left us a welcome treat of cakes and drinks, which was much appreciated (especially by our two children!). All in all we had a fantastic time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment to others.

perfect property in a lovely quiet location.

I would highly recommend this lovely, spotless clean apartment. It had everything we needed for our stay and the air conditioning made it very comfortable on hot days and nights. The apartment is in a lovely quiet location with Salou and Cambrills a short walk and bus/taxi ride away. The owner was extremely helpful and easy to get on touch with at any time. He even picked us up at 1.30 am from our bus drop off point to take us to the apartment.

A fantastic property which was extremely comfortable & relaxing in a beautiful area.

My husband, 3 children & I have just arrived back fron a week spent in this apartment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was enhanced by meeting Maria, the owner. She was friendly & helpful & put us at our ease. The apartment is like a home away from home. It is clean & spacious & the kitchen is suitable for colking full meals if one so wishes. There is a Sky box & we were able to use our own Sky card which was nice for ourselves & the children. We didnt hire a car as we enjoy plenty walking on holidays but perhaps car rental would be an advantage. Enrique & Marias accommodation comes with the use of biles for all the family. This is certainly helpful for getting around. The nearest supermarket is a 5 minute walk from the apartment. The nearest restaurant/bar is about the same. But there are many other bars& restaurants in Vilafortuny which is about a 15min walk from the apartment. I recommend this apartment highly to anyone looking for relaxation & tranquility in a beautiful location.

Perfect Holiday Home

Have just spent two weeks here with my son and two grandsons aged 9 and 10 and I could not have picked a better holiday for us all for our first holiday in this area. The apartment is so comfortable with plenty of room for six and it was perfect for us. It was lovely to have the sunny balcony in the morning while I waited for everyone to surface.

The kitchen was well equipped and we did breakfasts, some lunches and two evening meals there – it was great to find seasonings, sugar, oils and basics including cling film and foil in the cupboard.

Everyone loved the pools and we also used the bikes in the garage below. The area is great for cycle lanes and I was pleased to find that the ‘hills’ mentioned in a previous report were either very short (a bridge) or were just slight inclines of not too far. That is the journey to the sea front – if you go over to Cap Salou there are hills everywhere you turn and I was so pleased we were not based there.

There are two supermarkets, one just five minutes away had all the basics; the other one is under a mile (easy on a bike) and mega big.

Down to the beach was, for me, a 10 to 15 minute walk and if we were not taking the bikes we tended to get the bus using the prepaid tickets (€1.20 each) for wherever we wanted to go.

It was lovely to return to the gardens and our apartment at the end of the day – the beds were really comfortable and using the blinds would stop you being woken by the sunshine too early in the morning. I had the en suite room (small shower was really good), the main bathroom had more room of course and we never ran out of hot water - everyone happy.

I have stayed in many apartments in different countries and this one is one of the best ever. I stopped going anywhere more than once many years ago but am thinking of returning to this apartment for a holiday with daughter and family next year.

If you are looking for somewhere super clean, extremely comfortable with lovely pools that you can use (unlike some of the hotels we heard about), and a little way from the non-stop hullabaloo – book here with confidence, relax and have a fantastic time.

The apartment is located in the Vilafortuny neighborhood and belongs to Cambrils, a small fishing village.

Salou, the capital of Costa Daurada, is located only 2 kilometers from the apartment.

One of the main attractions in the area is the theme park called “PORT AVENTURA WORLD” as well as the recently inaugurated “FERRARI LAND”.

You can also choose from two water parks near the area. AQUOPOLIS in La Pineda and COSTA CARIBE in Port Aventura.

If you are looking to relax, there are two spas located in La Pineda: “AQUUM” and “SPAPALAS”

Costa Daurada has an number of interesting cultural and natural parks”

-Parc Natural del delta del Ebro

-Parc Natural del Ports

-Anfiteatro Románico de Tarragona

Some of the main attractions of Costa Daurada are its extensive beaches in the towns of Cambrils, Salou, and La Pineda, as well as its peaceful coves. We recommend “Cala Llobeta” and “Cala Calafató”. You can kayak, catamaran, snorkel, windsurf, take a boating trip, fish, etc. at the main beaches in the area.

For golf lovers, we recommend the Lumine Club Complex which is composed of 3 golf courses.

Barcelona is only any hour away. The city is worth visiting.
