Apartment in Nice, Cote d'Azur - Right in the Centre of Old Nice but Quiet and Secure with Lift Access

The apartment is light, spacious and sunny and has been completely refurbished with a beautiful beech floor. The bedroom and living room open out onto a private and secluded south-facing balcony. During April to July 2018 the outside of the building is being re-painted and the balcony is inaccessible, so we are offering a generous discount on the rental during this period. A minute's walk from the apartment presents you with a boulangerie and all around are numerous little shops and cafes. The main fruit and flower market, the Cours Saleya, sells spices, cheeses, patisseries etc and is not to be missed, it is 3 minutes walk away. The area is full of restaurants to suit every purse. In about 3 minutes you can be on the beach or strolling on the famous Promenade des Anglais. There is easy bus and train access to the rest of the Cote d'Azur. Adjacent is the Chateau Hill with wonderful views of Nice and beyond; on the other side of the hill is the Port with its fishing and pleasure boats. The apartment is located in the centre of the Old Town of Nice and is surrounded by shops, cafes, restaurants with easy access to art galleries and museums.

Notes on accommodation: Heating in the living room and bedroom for winter. Well insulated for all year round use and very secure as the building has a main door in from the street, then another locked door into the lift hall. Suitable for children. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included, changed weekly during thorough clean. Other: South facing balcony accessible from living room and bedroom.

The comfortably homey apartment in a perfect location in old town Nice was the best.

In old town where you can walk anywhere...or easily catch buses or trams to go to the museums, this was a great apartment. It was delightful to walk the narrow streets and enjoy many cafes nearby. The apartment felt like a place you could live! The art on the walls was lovely and all the construction was high quality. We would have loved to have stayed longer and may some day.

Cosy apartement in Old Town

The apartement is in very good position in Old Town: very safe and quiet street, location in 5th floor with balcony. Apartement is good equipped, cosy and clean. Enough for 4 people for short stay. Chateau and park only for little walk. Same to the sea. Owner is very helpful. Thank you, Richard.

Excellent flat in Nice old town

This is a holiday home, well-appointed in every respect but not prissy like some of the professional rental agencies. Very quiet, light, and sunny southerly aspect, and nice balcony, which always helps in what can otherwise be a claustrophobic area if you crave open spaces! The lift (there aren't many in Nice old town) is indeed helpful if you can't do many stairs. The location is up a 'stepped street' (easier slopes from the north). Good access arrangements and excellent briefing notes from owners who know their Nice! (The restaurant suggestions are spot on).

This was our second visit to this apartment in the Old Town and it lived up to expectation once more

The apartment is ideally situated in the Old Town, so a few minutes from the beach, and on the street to the Castle.

We swam every morning at 8 o'clock , followed by breakfast on the terrace each morning before setting of to explore the Town.

Fish and mussels bought at the fish market which closes at Midday at the sound of the cannon fire, and fruit and veg from the lovely market in the square.

Walks to the port to see its fine Yachts and watch the ferry unload and load its passengers to Corsica.

An early morning bus ride,( No. 100 to Menton,) along the beautiful coastline passing the little bays and through Monaco and Monte Carlo.

Having just read Giles Waterfield's novel, The Long Afternoon, about an English family who lived in Menton this visit was a must.

Visit to various Museum...Chagall, Beau Artes, and Matisse, all very good and in such beautiful buildings..

Nice has a lot to offer its visitors, and the French were very helpful to us too.

This property is highly recommended and provides all you need for a homely stay. Thank you Richard for letting us stay once more.

Very nice unit close to everything you want to do

Very nice apartment and it's close to dozens of great restaurants. If you want to cook in the farmers market with great vegetables, seafood, cheeses and sausages etc. It's only a short walk away. Also it's a very private unit. Thanks for letting us stay there

Charming studio

It was our 4th stay in the old town of Nice but the first time in this apartment.We enjoyed this well equipped studio (the fridge is a little small). But we did'nt miss anything. Two weeks stay have been too short. I hope we could come back next year to live in this lovely studio.

Three minutes on foot to the beach. It is a shingle beach with numerous facilities for sunshades, loungers, refreshments and watersports in the summer and stretches the full length of the Promenade des Anglais. Other smaller and sandy beaches at Villefranche, Bealieu and Cap Ferrat are easily accessible by bus (bus station ten minutes walk).


Nice Cote d'Azur 5km with shuttle bus to within ten minutes walk from the apartment. A car is not necessary.


The apartment is located in the centre of the Old Town of Nice and is surrounded by shops, cafes, restaurants with easy access to art galleries and museums. Transport by bus or train to Antibes, Cannes, Monaco, Menton and Italy is excellent.

Further Details:

There are convenience stores all around the Old Town with a Monoprix supermarket about ten minutes walk away, but most things can be bought locally in the small shops, the fruit/vegetable in the Cours Saleya (three minutes walk), the fish market in Place St Francois (three minutes walk) or local butchers, wine merchants etc. Restaurants are innumerable.
