My husband and I both work in the country, we produce biological fruits and vegetables and have really fallen in love with the country. My daughter Susanna follows the booking of the apartments.
Mara Turini purchased this apartment in 2005
We love Morrona because it's a really peaceful place to stay providing fantastic facilities of the area. It gives access to the most important cities such as Pisa, Florence, Siena, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano and, furthermore, it is at only 40 km from the seacoast. The area is easily accessible since Pisa airport is very close and it can be reached in half hours by car.

We stayed in Meriggio for one week at the end of September. The apartment is spacious and well-equipped. What makes this apartment so special, though, are the owners, Mara and Franco. Mara cooked us a delicious meal of pasta followed by breaded veal on our first night: Franco delivered it to us, along with a lovely bottle of wine and enough grapes to last us the whole week! Franco gave us lots of useful information on the local region, including places to eat, all of which were superb. We would particularly recommend the Caffe' Ginori in Castiglioncello (a lovely coastal town), the I Brindellone restaurant in Florence and, possibly the best, Il Morso in Terricciola (just a few minutes' drive from the apartment-it's much bigger than you think, with lovely views at the rear!) It was fairly easy to get to the train station in Pontedera, from which one could travel to Florence and Pisa. The trains are frequent and punctual and, compared to English train fares, fairly cheap! All in all, it was a fantastic week and we would certainly return if we visited that area again.
We arrived on Sunday night and were welcomed as part of the family by Franco & Mara. All guests are treated to a beautiful meal every Sunday night with beautiful home cooked Tuscan food made by Mara. Truly the best meals we had during our 2 week stay and we ate out a lot.
The pool is great and with only 4 apartments in the farm house it is never crowded. On a few occasions we had the pool to ourselves but as we all got to know each other at the welcome meal it felt like we were all part of a bigger family when at the pool. Many people there had come back year after year and I can see why. Its lovely, clean and very relaxing basically out in the middle of nowhere. Our 2 boys had a great time by the pool.
The apartment is 30 mins from Pisa and about an hour from Florence both of which we visited several times along with quite a few others.
I would have no hesitation in returning here as it is a great place for a family holiday. It really is a good place to relax and have a nice holiday. Franco and his family can't do enough for you they are great hosts.
Many thanks go to them for making us feel so welcome.
We had a lovely stay for a week with our 2 boys aged 8 and 5. The apartment was well equipped and the rooms were very large and clean. We enjoyed the delicious meal that was given to us upon our arrival and also the fresh fruit from the orchard. We all loved the large swimming pool, perfect to cool off after a very hot day!
The location was perfect to visit local towns of Volterra, San Gimignano and Pisa. We really liked the free Vespa museum and the food everywhere was amazing and relatively cheap.
If we ever come back to the area, we would definitely like to stay here again! Thank you.
We arrived late in the evening after getting lost (We didn't have a map or a satnav!), to a very warm welcome from Franco and Mara who showed us up to our accommodation (Merrigio). It was such a relief to be provided with a bottle of wine and a tasty meal as we were all hungry.
The next morning we found that our accommodation and surroundings were every bit a beautiful as they looked in the photographs. Our family (2 children) found the apartment perfectly sized, very clean with all the facilities you require for a comfortable holiday. We found the situation perfect-45 mins from Pisa and close enough to Florence to travel there by train. It also has a remote quietness that help you relax by the pool and enjoy the peace. The kids loved the pool and were in there every day. Franco and Mara were the perfect hosts, and loved getting the fresh fruit from Franco every couple of days. The meal they provided for everyone on our final night, (at no extra cost) was beautiful.
There is a large supermarket within a 10 minute drive away but there is also a small shop 5 minutes walk away in Morrona. There is also plenty of lovely places to eat around, Il Cigliere in Terricciola was our favourite.
Overall, this was a superb holiday and could not not find any fault at all. We would highly recommend Podere Costantino.
We will definitely be back
Rarely are the descriptions of a holiday property/location totally accurate but in this case you actually get what you expected. Stunning views from all angles. Opportunities to be active or lazy. Lovely accomodation clean, well equipped and comfortable. The whole family are great, friendly and helpful. The fabulous meal we enjoyed on our arrival was fantastic and introduced us to the delights of Tuscan food.
The location for us was a good base for visiting many of the sites -Volterra with its amazing ruins, San Gimignano, Lucca with its superb walls, Piza , just driving around the area through the villages was delightful if somewhat scary at times- the driving certainly keeps you on your toes.
We are already trying to make a date to revisit.
Podere Constantino is in a great location for exploring Tuscany. Situated just a few km's from the pretty village of Terricola and only 1/2 hour drive from Pisa Station it's easy to use it as a base for visiting Volterra, San Gimignano and Florence - which you can, if you wish get to by train from Pontedera station which is about a 20 minute drive away. (Don't forget to pay for your parking and get your train ticket stamped in the green machines on the platform!) The Merrigio apartment is very spacious, large airy living room with kitchen stocked with everything you need; huge bathroom and two really good bedroom s with lovely views. It was absolutely spotless. There is a small area for eating outside on the balcony. The pool and play areas are beautiful. What really makes this place special and why I have given it 5 stars is however Franco and Mari. "I am Franco, like Frank Sinatra" was out introduction, quickly followed by a fabulous pasta meal on our first night cooked by Mari; beautiful fresh produce appears on a daily basis, tomatoes - fantastico and parma ham. They stike the perfect balance between being friendly, helpful and attentive whilst not being invasive. This location is ideal for familiies and couples alike and was really good value. Absolutely faultless we all loved it, and the reliable wi-fi was much appreciated by our daughters. There is an excellent modern supermarket about 10 minutes drive away and some lovely pretty villages for gelato and good local restaurants - just ask Franco, he is a mine of information. I would highly recommend considering Podere Constantino, it is wonderful and very good value.
