My name is Mara, I live in Tuscany with my husband and my family. We are always respectful of your privacy and we want all our guests of all ages to feel free, happy and relaxed. My husband and I both work in the country, we produce biological fruits and vegetables and have really fallen in love with the country. My daughter Susanna follows the booking of the apartments.
Mara Turini purchased this apartment in 2005
We love Morrona because it's a really peaceful place to stay providing fantastic facilities of the area. It gives access to the most important cities such as Pisa, Florence, Siena, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano and, furthermore, it is at only 40 km from the seacoast. The area is easily accessible since Pisa airport is very close and it can be reached in half hours by car.
Now, in our 9th successful year, we are really satisfied and our guests enthusiast! Our guests appreciate and enjoy the outside dining relaxing in their private terrace. During the week we are pleased to offer you biological fruits and vegetables of our production (strawberries, cherries, apricots, peaches, figs, prune and grapes). At the guests arrival we are happy to offer you some typical tuscan dishes. We provide towels and linen so you can travel light.
'I would strongly recommend this apartment. A friend and I stayed for a week and were made to feel really welcome, from a surprise meal prepared for us on the 1st night to the bread and strawberries that arrived at regular intervals we felt really special. The apartment was even better than expected from the advert and was spotlessly clean. The apartment is ideally situated to visit all the hill towns in Northern Tuscany. We are still already planning next year's visit. Thank you Mara and your family for a wonderful holiday' Elaine and Julie from Cambridgeshire, England.
'We had a fantastic week. The apartment was lovely. It had everything we needed and more. Your hospitality was also fantastic. The oil and strawberries and eggs and cake and food all brilliant, we will not forget your kindness. You made us very welcome. We have told many people about the lovely week we had with you. Hopefully we will return next year.' Jessica and Alan from London

We had a great week with Franco and Mara and their family ,all of whom helped us in any way they could . They recommended great restaurants, and the apartment was spotless with all conveniences. The pool was clean with lots of comfortable loungers around it. The natural beauty of the area was stunning ,beautiful weather , great holiday.
Superb property in a magnificent location with amazing pool and views. Wonderful welcome followed by wine and peaches delivered to our door, A magnificent Tuscan meal was prepared for us one night with wine and liqueurs.
The reception by the owners was warm. We found some local dishes in the fridge and a bottle of wine. The appartment was spacy and the necessary equipment was available. The only machine missing was a coffee-machine or a Senseo. The Tramonto appartment has a nice veranda, where you can enjoy your drinks or meals. We were not so lucky with the weather, it was a bit too cold for the season.
The property was clean and well maintained. The master bed was a bit short for tall guy like me (1,94m). If you search for a quite place in the middle of Tuscany, this is a nice place to stay. Equipped with a nice (not heated) swimming pool, and beds to lie on. Thank you Mara, Franco and Francesco for your great welcome. We enjoyed our stay with you, you are lovely people, take care :-)
We had a lovely stay at Podere Costantino. The apartment was even nicer than it looked in the photos and very clean. We were welcomed straight away by Mari and Franco who are very lovely and generous and provided a lovely Tuscan meal for us which was a lovely touch for our first night along with a bottle of their own wine and fresh figs and tomatoes.
I was a little disappointed the cupboards did not have any condiments but the kitchen was fairly well equipped for a family of 4. Mari and Franco were very accommodating and had we asked would probably have provided us with some.
There is a washing machine there for 3 euros per wash which is very useful.
The farmhouse is split into apartments so not recommended if you want total privacy. The pool was the highlight of my childrens' stay and there is also Italian Bowling (so much fun!) and swings.
It was lovely to be able to walk in the vineyard and olive groves.
The worse thing about our stay was the mosquito bites we all endured (there were also a few wasps about too). Next time we will be better prepared and buy in the citronella candles etc.
The location is very good for touring the area, we went to Lucca, Volterra, San Gimininano, Florence, Siena and Pisa and the beach at Donoratico (all within 30-90mins by car). There is also a Conad supermarket about 8-10mins away.
We would highly recommend staying at Podere Costantino and will be back if we get the chance.
Mara and Franco are wonderful hosts and really make you feel as if you are visiting them in their home - not just another holiday rental. They make a huge effort to make everything special and relaxed - the meal they provide on a Sunday evening (at no extra cost) is superb and Franco's regular gifts of fruit and veg from his farm is such a lovely touch. The apartments are not huge although our bedroom in Aurora was very generous as was the bathroom. The living space is fairly compact but to be honest why would you spend a lot of time indoors! The pool is spotless and the covered areas are most welcome as it got pretty hot there in August. There's a lovely wood fired barbecue with plenty of wood available and replenished as it's used. The apartments have a communal washing machine and individual clothes drying areas. If I had to find a (minor) negative it would be that there's no dishwasher which we knew about in advance but if you like to cook a lot as we did then it means washing up becomes a bit of a chore. The only other downside is that the balcony area with outdoor seating which the two first floor apartments have is very confined. The apartment next to ours had to squeeze past us if we were sitting outside so that was a bit off putting and meant we didn't utilize our outdoor space as much as we could have.
However...would we return? Absolutely definitely yes!!! The location is great - only half an hour from Pisa airport and close to Volterra, San Gimignano, Pontedera...a really great base not too far off the beaten track but equally comfortable if you just want to spend your time lounging by the pool. The people in the other apartments had all visited numerous times before so that's a great indicator of what a great place this is. We truly had a superb holiday
