Our house is a stunning villa with only the coastal path between its gardens and the sea, and there are remarkable panoramic views over Mahon Harbour. It is in the urbanisation of Sol del Este - the most easterly point in Spain - and a minute's walk takes you onto farmland paths to the very end of the island. Incredibly peaceful, the house has a large private garden and pool. A small bar and supermarket are within metres of the gates, and just 10 minutes walk takes you into the heart of the lively village of Es Castell. Some of the island's many great beaches can be reached within 10-20 minutes by car. Please note that we are often there ourselves and have very few dates available - please check the availability calendar.

About the Owner

Over twenty five years ago we discovered Menorca with our then two small daughters. It was love at first sight and we bought our first house on the island a few months later. Since then, we always get pangs of regret if we're away from the island for too long. The pace and the lifestyle provide the perfect antidote to living and working in London.

Happily, our now-no-longer-small daughters feel the same way about the place as we do. One had her hen party at the house (Henorca!) in 2012, whilst the other was married at Monte Toro and had her after-party at the house in 2014, when we broke the record for the number of people in the pool at the same time (more than 20!)...

Very Special Location

We spent a wonderful week at Vista del Puerto in a very comfortable, beautifully equipped house in an amazing location, right on the water overlooking the harbour mouth of Mahon. It was so relaxing to sit and watch the activity on the water and as soon as you walked out on the path in front of the lovely villa gardens you were in beautiful countryside. We particularly enjoyed the double aspect to the house with garden and sitting areas looking out to sea, then the more sheltered and private garden on the opposite side overlooking the pool. We were also able to walk to all the restaurants in Es Castell in the evening and the local cafe and shop at the bottom of the road were very convenient. It was a huge plus having the heated pool to enable swimming in October. We were delighted with our choice of villa.

Location

Great views: the harbour is like a continuous movie, always active and changing constantly. Also easy access to Es Castell, which is a 'proper' town - one which exists all year round, even after the tourists go home. And it's a short, inexpensive cab ride away from some of the best farmhouse restaurants on the island; the kind of places that made the FT select Menorca in January last year as one of its top destinations for 2015!

Coast/Beach:

Beaches 5 min walk or 10 to 30 min drive. Buses 10 min walk.

Travel:

The airport is only 15 mins drive and the ferry terminal only 10 mins.

Distances:

Small supermarket 2 mins walk. Large 'out-of-town' supermarkets 10 mins drive. Bars 2 - 10 mins walk. Restaurants 2 - 10 mins walk. Airport 15 mins drive. Mahon 5 mins drive. Ciudadella 45 mins drive.

Further Details:

Sol del Este is an urbanisation less than 10 mins walk from the small town of Es Castell. There is a restaurant/bar and shop within 100 metres of the property. In Es Castell, apart from supermarkets, lively square and shops is the delightful cove of Calas Fons with its picturesque views that can be enjoyed from its many bars and restaurants.

In the next bay, Cala Corb, you can enjoy the 'Es Cau' Guitar Bar long into the night. There is a bus every 30 mins for the 10 minute ride to the capital of Menorca, Mahon. Buses can be caught here to many areas of the Island.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: NO SMOKING inside the property please! Remote controlled air conditioning and heating units are in every room. There's a good internet connection: wi-fi password will be given prior to your visit. Outside: The house sits in a pretty garden of approx. a quarter of an acre. On the harbour side of the house is a covered terrace - where there is a protected table & chairs, allowing outdoor dining in the welcome shade - and that leads to a large open area and gardens overlooking the sea. A gate takes you straight out to the coastal path, along which you can access the farmland beyond and the sea. On the pool side, a large patio area with a retractable awning opens onto a barbecue area, with another dining table & chairs, and then steps up to a large pool (10mx5m) with a poolside shower. (The pool can heated for your stay for a small additional charge). The garden continues beyond the pool with 2 mature palms - ideal for stringing a hammock between! There are many tables, chairs, umbrellas and sunbeds on both sides of the house. Utility Room: The laundry room is located immediately behind the garage. In it you'll find a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a ceiling airer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included (though not beach towels). The property will be fully cleaned both before you arrive and after you leave. There's an interim maid service also for longer stays. Other services: Should you require a cot, child seat, welcome pack, extra cleaning or anything else not specified, these can be arranged with our house managers (either directly or via us in advance) and should be paid for locally.
