3Bed 3Bath Villa in Tavira East Algarve with Sea View,Private Swimming Pool & Walking distance to the town.

Our villa is fantastically situated to Tavira with a modern interior, fully equipped and furnished. Consisting of a large open plan lounge and dining area with seating for 6 and complete with Wifi ,DVD player, CD system and Sky TV. Our newly fitted kitchen includes 2 Ovens, microwave, iron, washing machine, dishwasher,fridge/freezers plus a gas & electric cooker with extractor. The villa sleeps 6 people, there are 3 double bedrooms, 2 bedrooms with twin single beds, & 1 double bedroomand one cot bed is available. All 3 bedrooms have their own bathroom next door. All rooms in the Villa have air conditioning.The villa has a large fenced garden with a large 8m x 4m kidney shaped pool with a patio area and a fantastic outside kitchen & BBQ area. Upstairs is another large terrace with beautiful sea and sunset views. The City of Tavira is within walking distance a car is not necessarily needed & Taxis are cheap. It is a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach & Golf course. The Island beach is a 5 minute ferry boat ride from the City. The Spanish border is 15 minutes away. For days out the water park is a 30 minutes drive.

We have owned property here in Tavira for many years and now live here full time selling properties in this beautiful part of the Algarve!

Why Kate Else chose Tavira region

The Villa is near to the City on a small Urbanisation. A car is not needed for the City it is a 5 minute walk to the outskirts and 15 minutes to the river. Taxis are cheap & the fabulous beaches are five minutes drive away or catch the boat for the Island beach. There is a great selection of restaurants and Tavira has a very pretty City centre with the river running through the heart of it.

What makes this villa unique

Our property is in walking distance of amenities so a car is not necessary if you wish to explore Tavira. We chose to have a house here as it is a small local Urbanisation with a mixture of Nationalities living in close proximity to the City!

The week we spent in your really spacious, modern villa was wonderful. The location is excellent as it is a pleasant stroll in to town and if you feel lazy a taxi is only a few euros. The villa itself is very well equipped. Home from home really. It has all the facilities we needed to spend a comfortable relaxing holiday. The large private pool was just what the doctor ordered to unwind and chill in the quiet surroundings. We spent most evenings on the roof terrace with a bottle of wine watching the sun go down. The views are superb!

We also appreciated the lovely wide, white sandy beach at Illha da Tavira as it is only a short ferry ride away and is safe for children. There is a good choice of restaurants too.

I must also add that all the information in the book in the villa was extremely helpful if you don't know the area. The town of Tavira is so unspoilt and has kept it's traditional Portugese feel and the people we met really friendly and helpful Bob and Sheila - UK.

Notes on accommodation: This is a small and private urbanisation which is very safe and quiet. The nearest bars & shops are 5-8 minutes walk away. The villa has air conditioning throughout as well as a wood burning fire. The balcony upstairs has two access points one from the main stairs and one from the main bedroom. It gives you all day sun and a fabulous view looking to the sea, and the mouth of the harbour. To the left of the balcony you can enjoy the early morning sunrise and the right enjoy the lovely sunset with a glass or two of wine. The pool is a secluded area and is a delight for all age groups. It benefits from sun from the early morning to late evening and has the great advantage of our fantastic outside kitchen area complete with dining terrace,bread oven, choice of BBQ's & outside fireplace! Outside: The downstairs terrace leads directly off the kitchen to the parking, 8x4 private pool and outside kitchen. Situated round the pool are sun-loungers, a table and chairs with a very large umbrella for shade & dining alfresco! The upstairs terrace has a table & chairs for six or alternatively a private sun-bathing area with stunning views. There is also a separate access to and from the terrace off the master bedroom. Utility Room: Washing machine, ironing board and iron and a great selection of kitchen utensils (i.e. you have the use of more than one knife!!) Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: A food welcome pack to start you on your way with basic necessities. Bathroom towels and bed linen are included plus beach towels. One final clean service at the end of a 1 week stay, or 1 maid visit in the middle of a 2 week stay. Other: All 3 bedrooms are suited for family due to its layout. All are spacious with own wardrobes and plenty of space for pushchairs and golf clubs.

Perfect in every Way

Our first stay in Portugal with our 2 sons aged 5 and 12. The booking process was simple and the owners Kate and Heath could not have been more helpful. We arrived late at night and in the dark but the lights were on for us and a lovely selection of welcome goods in the Kitchen. The villa was spotless and had all the amenities we required and more, the kitchen had all the things we needed and the pizza oven and barbeque in the garden were amazing.

Of course the highlight for our boys was the fabulous swimming pool which we used every day and was very well maintained.

Kate was most helpful pointing out local restaurants and points of interest and how to get to the beach, which has to be seen to be believed looks like it is just out of the Carribean.

I would thoroughly recommend this villa, the location is perfect not far from the airport and close to the Spanish border. The owners are on hand to assist if required.

We have already booked to come back next year and have fallen in love with Tavira.

Fantastic Villa, Perfect Location

We first visited the villa approximately five years ago and have returned every year since, with family members and also on our own.

The villa is lovely and spacious, with air conditioning, The pool is a good size and cleaned regularly, with the sun on it all day.

The villa is approximately a 20 minute walk into the lovely town of Tavira with numerous bars and restaurants on the way. You can catch a train to the Spanish border, where you can take a short ferry ride into Ayamonte, Spain which is highly recommended.

In Tavira itself, the Irish Bar does an amazing Sunday Roast. We would also recommend La Patio and Rive Gauche (French restaurant).

Heath and Kate are a lovely couple who make you feel very welcome and only a phone call away if you have any queries.

We will definitely be back!

Fantastic holiday!

We enjoyed a fabulous fortnight at Kate and Heath's gorgeous villa in July. Our party included teenagers and grandparents and the villa had something for everyone. We enjoyed using the barbecue area and. My sons loved the pool and my parents enjoyed relaxing with the family but still having the space for some quiet time. The villa is spacious and well laid out. Everyone had their own space and enjoyed all of the facilities. The villa is 20 mins walk from Tavira but if this is too much Pedro's taxis were always available to take us wherever we wanted to go. Beautiful location with stunning views and very peaceful. We would definitely like to return soon.

Relaxing Holiday!

Our family (2 adults & 3 teenagers) have just spent two weeks at the villa. We've had an amazing holiday. We were met by Kate (owner) who showed us around the villa & explained everything. There was a welcome pack on arrival which saw us through until we got to the supermarket.

Villa is ideally placed for discovering the beaches, going to the hypermarket & getting in to Tavira town. It took us around 20 minutes to walk in to Tavira & got a taxi back most times as it was only 4 euros for the five of us.

The children loved the pool which is a good size & my husband fell in love with the BBQ. We are experienced villa users & the BBQ facilities at the villa are the best he has ever had. We BBQ'd at the villa most evenings only had a couple of meals in town which we thought were excellent value for money; 80-100 euros for five people including drinks.

We hired a car as we don't like going to the same beach all the time & a car allowed us to go to the less spoilt beaches but you could manage without.

We love Tavira, we've been before & will definitely be back!

There are a number of great options from the villa with a wonderful choice of beaches.You can walk into town to meet the ferry boat which takes you to the gorgeous blue flag Island beach of Ilha de Tavira with bar & restaurant facilities.Alternatively you can drive 5mins to the Albacora causeway to sunbathe or drive 10mins further towards the border to Spain & the spectacular & never ending beaches of Manta Rota & Manta Lota.


The villa is 43 kms from Faro Airport by car (30 minutes). 35kms to the Spanish border and 1 hour 15 mins from Seville. To take a taxi from Faro is approx 30/45 euros. There is a train station in Tavira which is accessible from Faro (but is not situated near the airport). Lisbon and Seville are easily accessible by bus from Tavira. Please contact us for recommended car hire.


The villa is a 8 minute flat walk to the nearest bars/restaurants and basic food shopping and a further 10 minutes into the centre of town for the larger supermarkets and larger choice of riverside bars and restaurants. There is a shopping centre with Cinema and shops within walking distance of the villa.

Further Details:

Nearest cash machine is 5 minutes walk away, with further banks etc in the centre of town. Fantastic summer festival from June-Sept with free live music, travelling theatre companies, Art and Film exhibitions & shows something for everyone! There are many interests locally which include a nearby waterfall, the town Tavira which is a very photogenic historical town, plus a fantastic nature reserve where you can observe the migration of storks and other bird life. Bike, horse riding and the golf! The position of Tavira is excellent for transport to visit Faro, Seville or further afield Lisbon for cultural and shopping expeditions. Please note this is a typical unspoilt Portuguese working town not to be confused with other areas of the Algarve!
