This stunning privately owned detached holiday villa with private pool is situated in the peaceful village of Son Vilar, Menorca (Minorca), on the outskirts of Es Castell (fishing village) and Mahon (capital), so amenities are close by and also just a short drive to gorgeous beaches.

The villa sleeps 2 - 7 in three air-conditioned bedrooms (cool or heat).

The property has a large terrace with barbecue and dining area, a shady terrace for relaxing, and a further patio, all with tables, chairs and plenty of sun loungers.

It is nicely furnished, fully equipped (including Satellite TV and free high speed broadband Wi-Fi internet connection), superbly cleaned and serviced weekly with fresh linen by my local manager.

The Private Pool, which has Roman Steps, is serviced twice weekly by a local specialist manager. Both managers are available at other times should any problems arise.

Over 60% of my visitors are returning tenants - which speaks for itself!

Quiet location with good landscaped garden.

This was our first stay at this villa having stayed at other villas on Son Vilar, Son Vitamina and Sol D'este, over a 22 year period. The villa was neat and tidy with a good landscaped garden and overall the best villa we have stayed in in Menorca. We dined out every night at either the Bar Nelson (Son Vitamina) Calan Porta or Cala Fons and chilled out round the pool in the afternoons. All in all a very good stay and we would certainly stay there again.

Beautiful Villa!

Had such a lovely time visiting this villa that we decided to return 10 months later with some friends and again it didn't disappoint! The villa is still gorgeous and in really good condition with all the amenities you could need. The pool and garden are well maintained with a lovely herb garden and lemon bush. The location is ideal - in a quiet residential area, a few minutes drive or 15 minute walk from the local town and port.

The villa has so many lovely personal touches and the welcome pack was very appreciated. Our friends really enjoyed staying at the villa and I look forward to returning and sharing the experience with others in the future. Many thanks for such a lovely holiday!

Fantastic villa!!

This was our second visit to this lovely villa. It has everything you could need and feels like home . The pool is wonderful and difficult to tear yourself away from! The different areas for sitting and eating lunch /late night wine are lovely . The villa has everything you could need and the basil in the garden was an added bonus !The beautiful harbour (10 mins walk away) is so picturesque with a great choice of restaurants . We will definitely be back !

A home from home

Ian you have a lovey peaceful villa that more than lived up to our expectations. It was clean and well maintained by your property agents, gardener and pool man.

The villa is on a small residential estate and on 2 minutes from Es Castell and only 5 minutes drive into Mahon. The kitchen Is very well equipped with all modern appliances and there is also a very good washing machine.

The lounge is very comfortable and the outside facilities, garden and pool are lovely. It was also nice being able to pick herbs from the garden for our cooking.

The pack of information you supplied us with and the customer care you gave us exceeded anything we have ever experienced. The welcome pack and wine was greatly appreciated.

We all enjoyed our stay in you villa and without any hesitation recommended you villa to our friends and relatives.

Once again thank you for all your help that ensured we had a lovely holiday and we did not want to leave your lovely home.

Owner's Response: My local management team, Realcare, provide an excellent service to keep the villa running smoothly during the year. You brought a couple of items to their attention during your stay and those items were replaced, for new, within a day. I'm pleased that you enjoyed using all the facilities, including herbs from the garden. This year several tenants have done this which is great, and as I enjoy cooking too, I will be extending the herb garden next year based on tenant feedback, like yours. I might even add Chilli plants! For those tenants who want to get away from cooking whilst on holiday (most!) then there are an incredible number of nearby restaurants in Es Castell and Mahon to suite all tastes and pockets. Everything You Need to Explore Menorca

Located in Son Vilar, a residential area just outside Mahon (Capital) and Es Castell (popular fishing village). Easy access with rental car (required) to both, and each has terrific places to visit and eat. Home is an easy 15 minute trip from the airport. Grocery store 5 minutes away as well as local markets.

Villa has 3 bedrooms with A/C (which both air conditioned the bedrooms and the main living areas/kitchen/den. Satellite TV and Wi-Fi internet worked well. Kitchen had everything needed for light meals and plenty of beach toys to use when visiting the many local beaches located within a 15- 30 minute drive and Es Castell is 5 minutes for seaside dinner and cocktails (just beautiful).

Pool is the “winning” amenity at this villa, just a great place to enjoy the morning or evening before sightseeing for the day. The pool area had plenty of lounge chairs and shade umbrellas. We ate dinner one evening by the pool (BBQ) and breakfast in the shaded table area of the den.

Beds and linens all fine, Washing machine a total plus. Owner was very accommodating and helpful, and welcome pack of food and amenities got us off to a terrific start. Don’t miss the opportunity to pick some spices from the onsite garden to use in your cooking. It was our first stay and hopefully we will return in the future.

Stunning villa and location!

Our 7th/8th visit to this amazing villa and we'll be back next year. So why so special? Firstly, its location – located in a small quiet village close to the capital Mahon and within walking distance of both Mahon and the lovely town of Es Castell. Son Vilar has a small shop called La Boliga which stocks everyday food - good for fresh fruit and sandwiches. Plus it’s very close to the Bar Horizonte which this year has ‘gone up market’ with decking and tables/chairs at the front. The G and T’s are the best plus the owner kept bringing out delicious tapas (free!)– it had the desired effect and we just had to stay longer and had a second G & T before we meandered back to the villa!! Both Mahon and Es Castell offer very good eating places - the harbour front at Mahon has a promenade of restaurants of all types – whilst in Es Castell and nearby Cala Font /Cala Cobb you can find some lovely typical Spanish eateries. The villa is in a quiet residential area, surrounded by mainly Spanish and a few English residents. You live here as the Spanish do, within their community as opposed to being within a holiday complex with other holiday makers. It’s the owner’s attention which makes this villa so special both inside and outside. Inside it is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday including DVD’s and satellite television in English, though at the moment channels are limited – but you’re on holiday not on this beautiful island to watch television!!!. The kitchen is well stocked and the welcome pack is considerable. New kitchen appliances installed last year – fridge/freezer, hob/oven, etc – well done to the owner for ensuring that standards are maintained. The villa is very clean and is well maintained throughout. Outside, within its well kept gardens, is the lovely pool, designed with roman steps which make getting in or out much easier - and allows you sit in the pool with a glass on the side – so relaxing and a perfect way to cool down in the heat!!! The well stocked garden is visited by a local gardener and the pool is regularly maintained. The terrace is a lovely place to be during the evening to just sit and relax with a glass or two. Admittedly you don’t have a view of the of the sea, but be assured you have the peace and quiet which more than makes up for the lack of sea view. We feel that a car is essential at this villa though it’s only a short walk to the bus route into Mahon or one bus stop to Es Castell.

Owner's Response: I'm pleased to receive your constructive comments and how much you enjoy the villa and surroundings. The property is constantly having an improvement of some kind, often based on your feedback over the years (like the high speed Wi-Fi internet installed this year and works all over the exterior). UK satellite broadcasts are problematic in Menorca since 2014 when Astra 28E was replaced, and I continue to seek a reliable solution. However there are plenty of News, Current Affairs, and Films available in English.

Son Vilar is a lovely peaceful village between Mahon (capital) and Es Castell (fishing village), both just a walkable one Km away, or just minutes in a hire car (strongly recommended on Menorca). An ideal base to enjoy and explore this magical island. Numerous gorgeous beaches are within a short 20min drive, and superb restaurants and bars are on your doorstep. Or just laze around the superb private pool with it's user friendly Roman Steps!

Coast/Beach:

There are numorous gorgeous beaches easily reached in 15 - 25 mins drive (Es Grau, Punta Prima, Alcaufar, Cal'n Porter, etc.).

Travel:

A hire car is essential in Menorca due to the uncommercialised nature of local transport. This can be arranged seperately for my tenants with substantial discount (details on request).

Your hire car will meet you at Mahon airport on your arrival day. It is an easy 10 minute drive to the villa.

At the end of your holiday you just leave the hire car in a designated area at Mahon airport. Perfect!

Distances:

Both Es Castell and Mahon are just a few mins drive away, and both offer an abundance of superb restaurants, bars, and amenities.

All my tenants receive a guide that features some well tried good value venues.

Nowhere is that far (on an island only 30 x 12 miles) and you can get to the other side of the island in less than 40 mins.

Further Details:

Menorca is great also for walks. Many of the more deserted beaches can be reached in this way. There's a picnic cooler box in the villa!

All tenants receive a information pack before their holiday date which lists details of local shops, restaurants and bars, amenities, and some recommended local beaches.

The villa and pool are locally managed by a superb team (Realcare), and is fully equipped including all linen (changed weekly). It has passed the scrutiny of the Menorca Tourist Board and is Registered at Superior level. Please note that, unlike many villas, there is no charge for using the air conditioning! Nor is there a deposit! There is a welcome pack in the fridge for your arrival (including beer and wine!). A small local supermarket is just up the road, or larger ones (like Tesco etc.) within a 5min drive. The villa is secluded yet so close to amenities - a perfect base for your holiday on this lovely island. Nowhere is very far.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The air conditioning is either cool or heat depending on the season, and also controls humidity for maximum comfort. There is a small park opposite the drive with a small playground for children. Outside: The villa is situated on a plot of nearly quarter acre and is at the end of a cul-de-sac with no passing traffic. There is a large terrace with plenty of sun loungers, barbecue, and eating area. The private pool is (8m x 5m) and has Roman Steps entry which is great for children, elderly, or novice swimmers! The pool is cleaned twice weekly during your stay. There is a further patio and an eating area which leads off the Lounge. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The villa is cleaned prior to your arrival, fresh linen supplied (but please take your own beach towels), and the fridge is stocked with breakfast supplies (plus beer and wine!!). Thereafter there is a interim weekly clean with fresh supply of linen. Other: There is a Playstation 2 and TV in Bedroom 2 (please take your own games).
