Apartment in Uzes, Gard, Languedoc. - Five Min. Walk From The Place Aux Herbes: Convenience Without The Noise

Comfortable 75 sqm flat in old farmhouse surrounded by a large garden with fruit trees and access to a pool in very quiet area of town. The property is 300 meters from the core of historic Uzes, near shops and restaurants. Uzes market days are Wednesdays and Saturdays, bringing local farm produce and fantastic regional products.

The apartment furniture is modern and functional, with two bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. The kitchen has all amenities: dishwasher, refrigerator, pots, pan, coffee machine, electric grill, dishes and glasses. There is also a washer for laundry.

The living-dining room has ample space, with a dining table, TV, coach and sofa, as well as access to shaded private garden with table and chairs.

The apartment has free wifi.

A country house in town

Firstly, I don't really want to say good things about this property - because we really don't want too many people to discover it!

Having said that, it is a wonderful place to spend a holiday. The property itself is within a few minutes walk of the centre of Uzes (a wonderful town in itself) but is reached along a drive which makes it feel as though you are miles from any town. With a variety of sites such as the Pont du Gard, and towns such as Avignon, Nimes and Arles all within reasonable distance, you really are in almost the perfect location.

As for the property itself, the apartment has all the amenities you could want and outside, the pool is a magnificent "oasis" when the weather becomes a little too hot!

I can't really finish a review of this property without mentioning the owners, who are frequently there during the summer. Friendly & hospitable doesn't do them justice, and they will always try to accommodate any requests you may have - whilst never making you feel as though they were there!

This property is special because it is so well located (quiet but so close to the center of town), the beautiful garden and pool, the fruit trees.

Special interest holidays:

Uzes' famous market is open all year, plus there is the Truffle market in Jan/Feb., the Dance Festival in June, and the Music Festival in July.

Coast/Beach:

Les Saintes Maries de la Mer (80 km) and Marseille (110 km) are about 1 1/2 hrs away. Swimming is also possible in the formidable Gardon River by the Pont-du-Gard (12 km).

Travel:

Uzes is 25 minutes from Nimes, a Ryanair summer destination. There is a convenient regional bus from the Nimes TGV station to Uzes, so coming by car is not necessary, though convenient to visit nearby towns. Uzes is 40 minutes from Avignon, also with (intra-departmental) bus service.

Distances:

In Uzes proper there is Haribo, with its candy museum.

Nearest villages include St Quentin la Poterie, home to many potters and artisans. Nearby towns and villages include Ales, Anduze, Arpaillargues, Goudargues, Pont St Esprit. A bit farther are Arles, St Remy de Provence. Aix-en-Provence is 80 Km away.

Further Details:

The house is in town, so a short stroll of 300m will take you to all amenities (open year-round): a Petit Casino and Monoprix, grocery stores, many French bakeries and pastry stores, meat stores and pharmacies. There are two markets a week, with the busy Saturday market drawing merchants and artisans from across the region.
