Luxury 2 bedroom Apartment in Pittulongu, NE coast of Sardinia - Peaceful Location, Two Terraces, Sea Views, Small Garden,Communal Pool,10 mins Walk to Sandy Beach

With my long standing experience all my guests receive comprehensive paperwork throughout the booking process, hence why I do not use the payment system. Situated on the ground floor, with nothing above, and built in traditional Sardinian style, the apartment is set in quiet location within pretty gardens.

Palymra has two double bedrooms, the master has a double bed, and the second bedroom has twin beds. There are two shower rooms, one has a washing machine in it.

We can also provide a cot and high chair at no extra cost, but this must be confirmed at time of booking.

The living area is open plan, the kitchen is well stocked, and benefits from a fridge/freezer and dish washer. The lounge area has a large L shaped sofa and a coffee table.

The highlight of the property is the attractive private large covered fully furnished terrace, perfect for dinning and relaxing. The dinning area has a round table and four chairs, and the lounge area has a sofa, 2 chairs and a coffee table. Off this is a small private walled garden, and a spiral staircase which leads you up to an upper solarium terrace. This is a perfect place for 'chilling out' with a cool aperitif and enjoying amazing uninterrupted views over the Golfo di Olbia towards Isola Tavolara. This terrace also has a sofa, 2 chairs and a coffee table.

The apartment is tastefully furnished to a high standard, and is professionally maintained by a local English lady. We go out to Sardinia on a regular basis so keep the standards up.

There are no owners possessions cluttering up the apartment as we lock them away in the third bedroom.

Optional air conditioning/ heating, payable either in advance, or can be chosen on arrival and the cost deducted off the breakage deposit.

Unlimited free Wifi.

Private covered allocated parking space.

Use of communal pool and sun bathing terrace with life guard (June - mid September).

When you arrive you will find a comprehensive information folder. Along with a welcome pack of wine, water, milk, tea, coffee and sugar.

When our children were young we had villa holidays, so we have tried to think about what our guests require in a holiday home. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, we provide a freezer bag and blocks, a beach umbrella, buckets and spades, games and books.

The apartment is ideal for a family holiday or for a couple wanting a quiet romantic break. We can also cater for groups of friends who may wish to holiday together, but reside separately, as in the same location we also have two three bedroom villas each with their own private swimming pools. Palymra is situated in Pittulongu, which is perfect all year round, and is an ideal base for guests who want a stunning location, yet be close to good amenities. Pittulongu is known for its 1.5km beach of white sand, this is our nearest beach and is just a 10 minute walk away. Locally to us are some of the best beaches in Europe, all with beautiful white sand and crystal clear waters. Locally we have a well-stocked supermarket, and a fish and bread shop, as well as some great restaurants and bars. The nearest restaurants are situated along the beach, and all offer a good selection of pasta, pizza and fish and views over the bay.

Olbia is just a 10 minute drive away, and is a bustling city and port (although more the size of an English town). Here you will find all the facilities you would expect, a good selection of shops, restaurants, bars, banks, a fantastic archaeological museum, roman remains and a hospital.

Olbia airport is just 20 minutes drive, Alghero airport is 1.5 hour drive straight across the island, and Cagliari is a 4 hour drive down south.

Pittulongu is also ideally sited to explore the beautiful coastline, the renowned Costa Smeralda, or Emerald coast, the marinas of Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo, and the unspoilt and little known interior of the island.

For our booked guests exclusively we have arranged family friendly yacht charter on a 41ft catamaran, with an English spoken skipper.

Available on request at very good rates from June to September.

Water sports, tuition and hire of paddle boards, windsurfers, dinghies and ribs are available locally.

Sardinia is a paradise for sports enthusiasts with a wide range of sports available locally from cycling to caving to golf on one of the prettiest golf courses in the world, the renowned Pevero Golf Club.

There is a fun water park nearby.

Most towns have colourful markets during the week, with the eclectic Thursday morning market in the mountain village of San Panteleo a must.

In the main summer months there are also night markets in Olbia and Golfo Aranchi which are always fun to wander around.

Sardinia is a great location for immersing yourself in local traditions and history, and is famous for it various colourful festivals held throughout the year. In August there is a world famous jazz festival, along with various important yachting events throughout the year.

We are a family of 4, we first visited the island when our children were young,(they are now in their early twenties) and have seen them grow up enjoying the freedom and safety of this beautiful island - there is something for everyone!

As with all our guests we work very hard and are restricted to definitive holiday periods, so we try and make everyday count for our guests by sharing the knowledge that we have built up over the last 10 years.

We visit Sardinia regularly throughout the year so keep a close eye on the property so it is well maintained. We try and make the whole holiday decision making and booking as easy and painless as possible. So from the moment someone chooses to holiday in our property the fun starts!

Why Ann Marie Reohorn chose Pittulongu

After spending two great holidays on the island we succumbed to 'Sardiniaitis', and had to buy our own property to be able to go and escape as often as possible. We choose this area as we fell in love with the North East coast, but wanted to be close to the airport (only 15 minutes) and to the year round facilities of Olbia. Our village, Pittulongu is in a fantastic area with great beaches and amenities.

We know there is nothing worse than staying somewhere and finding cupboards locked or cluttered with the owners belonging. So we lock all our possessions away in the third bedroom, so the apartment is uncluttered. This enables our guests to treat the property as if it is their 'own bolt hole'.

The most beautiful time is out of season May/June and September/October.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is conveniently located close to Olbia and its airport, so transfer time is only 15 minutes. Locally we have restaurants, bars and shops that remain open all year round - very important. We are situated in one of the prettiest and unspoilt areas of the island, yet it has the unique benefit of having access to amazing beaches, unspoilt countryside and the glamour of the Costa Smeralda. This property is very well appointed, and as we use it personally it reflects our personal experience of what we would like to have available to us on our holiday. We have an English lady who lives locally, who looks after the apartment, so help and advice is always at hand. Yes, it is a view that 'takes your breath away'.

We had a great stay - you have a lovely apartment and it's a wonderful island. The info in your blue folder was a great help and directed us to a number of locations (market in S Pantaleo, aqua dreams and Porto Cervo). On the days we went to the Beaches they were crowded in the mornings but thinned out in the afternoons.The island grew on us in the short time we were there and can see why you have bought your properties and keep returning. Margaret was a great help too - she also recommended some good places to visit. We will definitely recommend your apartment to people and hopefully will return one day.

The apartment is well located for exploring the unspoilt interior of the island, the mountains and the many archaeological remains. Olbia is a lively all year round city with many facilities, whilst the glamour of the Costa Smeralda and the artist village of San Panteleo is only a 20 minute drive away. Corsica can be reached by ferry from Golfo Aranci 10 minutes drive away. Available locally trekking, horseback riding, tennis, beach volley ball, sub-aqau, paddle boarding, windsurfing, rib hire and kite flying. Boat hire available in local marinas. Exclusively available at affordable rates to our guests is the use of either a 41ft Catamaran or a 51ft Beneteau yacht, both are child friendly and have English speaking skippers. Longer charters also available at special rates. We also have two three bedroom villas available to rent in the same location, ideal for larger groups who require a degree of independence.

Coast/Beach:

The apartment is in a perfect location for exploring the many stunning beaches of the Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo. The nearest beach is a 10 mins walk, there are 6 more beaches all within a 10 mins drive. The sea is crystal clear, all the beaches have clean white sand. Most have lounger, windsurf, and pedalo hire and beach bars in season. The sea is warm from early May - November. Facilities for sub aqua, snorkeling, swimming, sailing, big game fishing, kite and windsurfing.

Olbia airport is 15 minutes, Alghero airport is 1.5 hours, Cagliari airport 4 hours away

UK flight time is approximately 2.15 hours. With a 15 minute transfer from Olbia airport, an early morning flight from the UK will allow you to be sunning yourself by lunch.

Ferries to Olbia from mainland Italy.

We are in an ideal location for a two centre holiday, fly into Olbia with easy jet and spend a week with us, then drive to the south coast, Corsica or mainland Italy, all of which are served by Easyjet. Alternatively, drive through Italy or France and arrive by Ferry.

Distances:

The nearest beach is just a 10 minute walk. Olbia and Golfo Araci are a 10 minute drive, Porto Rotondo 15 minutes. Porto Cervo and its beaches 30 minutes. La Maddalena archipelago 45 minutes, accessible from Palau. Ferries run frequently from Golfo Aranci and Santa Teresa to Corsica. Why not consider a two centre holiday one week in Sardinia speaking Italian, and one week in Corscia speaking French.

Further Details:

Pittulongu has various good quality restaurants and bars. The closest restaurants are just a 10 minute walk away right on the beach. There are also two well stocked local supermarkets, one within walking distance at the bottom of the road, and the other larger one just a 5 minute drive. Locally there is also a fish shop, a bread shop, and several pizza take aways. Larger supermarkets can be found in Olbia, along with an all year round twice weekly street market, and many shops, restaurants, bars and night clubs. In August there is also a lively night market in the main street. Olbia also has several large banks and a Hospital. There is a large swimming pool complex 8km away with three Olympic size swimming pools, a health spa and tennis complex - open all year.

Golfo Aranci is just 10 minutes away with a lively port, a weekly street market, and an evening street market in the summer.

There is a fantastic water park in Baia Sardinia.

Notes:
Getting to Olbia is very easy and quick from the UK, European cities, Russia, North America and Canada. With three airports on the island, and four major ferry ports, you can choose between flying and catching a ferry. Sardinia is often called the 'Caribbean of the Mediterranean', but is just a 2.5 hour flight time from most European cities, so unlike the Caribbean there is no long haul flight, and better still no jet lag!! An early morning flight into Olbia will get you to our location before lunch, so by early afternoon you could be swimming in the sea or the pool. Olbia has both an airport and ferry port so you have the choice of either flying, or driving and arriving by ferry. Flying into Olbia is the best solution, as the airport is only a 20 minute drive, so a nice quick and easy transfer. The ferry port is even closer. Easyjet flies into Olbia from London Gatwick, Luton, Bristol and Manchester. Meridiana flies into Olbia from London Gatwick. BA flies into Olbia in season from London Heathrow. In season there are charter flights from Birmingham and Stanstead. You could also consider a two location holiday flying into Olbia and spending time with us, then going onto Corsica, or south to Cagliari, or onto mainland Italy, all of which are served by Easyjet flights. We can give you advice on car hire and have an exclusive arrangement with a UK car comparison site.

Lovely villa with beautiful views from the roof te

The villa is well maintained, clean and fully equipped for a family of 4 with plenty of crockery and cooking utensils. The information pack was very useful, with recommendations of beaches, restaurants and places of interest. One member of our family is gluten free and the majority of restaurants we visited catered for this. Margaret, who managed the property, was very friendly and helpful and just a phone call away if needed. The shaded seating and dining area were lovely and the views from the roof terrace were beautiful. The air conditioning was essential, especially as we were there during a heat wave! The pool area was nice and there were times when we were the only ones there using the pool!

The villa is as described and the photo's are accurate. I would recommend this property to others.

A great family holiday in a beautiful location

We stayed at this apartment with our two girls (age 5 and 8) for 10 days in August. In the run up to our holiday Ann Marie (the owner) was very helpful with ideas for trips, car hire and our payment was staggered over some months. The apartment was very well furnished and suited our needs. The garden area was a tranquil place to eat breakfast and in the evenings we enjoyed reading with candles and chill out music. The info booklet provided by the owner was excellent and well thumbed by me; it informed many of our restaurant choices and some excursions. The pool which is literally over the road was clean and provided a good alternative to the beach for the children. Thy also made a few friends here from the 'village' of apartments which was fortunate. The local beach 'Lo Squalo' is very family friendly and you can sit and watch your children play safely as the water was very shallow for at least 50m and it was warm. Your view is not obscured by other sunbathers as it is not a deep beach which made it easy to read and 'watch'. There is a rep (Margaret) who helped us out with car hire options. We would definitely recommend this apartment and area.

Before buying abroad we used to rent properties, so called on our own experiences to try and provide a comfortable and stylish holiday home not only for ourselves but for our guests. Hence why we provide little things like a beach umbrella and a freezer bag. We also try and be as informative and helpful as we can so that the run up to the holiday can be exciting, and when the guests arrive they have information at hand about beaches, restaurants, things to do as well as locations of shops, banks and markets. We are always available to our guests before and during their stay so that it they require anything they know that they can contact either us or our local representative. We have provided an honest and current description and photographs of both our apartment, and local area so that our guests are safe in the knowledge that the property they are booking is the exact property they will be staying in.

Very well presented apartment with great views

The property was very well appointed and immaculately presented on arrival. It was very comfortable and lots of thoughtful touches like the sun umbrella, red book containing a whole host of useful information such as places to see, restaurants to eat at etc plus very helpful and prompt advice from the owner, Ann Marie, whenever we asked. It's a great location to visit all the fabulous beaches nearby and up to the Costa Smeralda. The apartment is set in a complex with other apartments and access to a nice communal pool which we used. Overall a very comfortable, well situated apartment from which to enjoy the local area and beyond.

Owner's Response: Prior to buying, and renting out our property, we used to rent properties ourselves so used our own experiences to try and add those extra touches, so our guests can arrive and get on with their holiday straight away. We like to offer guests the benefit of our 15 years experience of this part of the island, to help shorted the curve in terms of beaches, restaurant, sightseeing etc. We also like guests to know that there is a contact point both in Sardinia and the UK if they require any help and advice.

We loved it so much we have booked for next year

The apartment was even better than we anticipated. It was extremely clean, well equipped and stylish. The photos do not do it justice!

We spent a wonderful week exploring the beautiful beaches close to the apartment, and enjoyed a morning in colourful San Panteleo market.

The food is the local restaurants was fantastic, we eat lots of fish and drank some lovely local wine.

Our week flew by, one week was just not enough, we wished we had booked for longer. Although we rarely holiday in the same location twice, this apartment is such a great find, and the owners and lady who looks after it are so helpful that we have already booked again for next year, but for two weeks instead of just one!

We would not hesitate in recommending it to friends.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.

Easy quick and safe payment via bank electronic transfer which allows for a 'real time' paper trail.

Please note that the price quoted INCLUDES white linen, white towels, T Towels and final clean. Any additional linen and towels, and cleaning can be arranged locally, and paid for in Euros direct to our representative. The apartment is cleaned before each changeover. You just need to take your own swimming towels.

The only extra charge is for optional air conditioning/heating, which is available at a cost of £50 per week, unfortunately we have to charge this due to the high cost of electricity.

Breakage deposit of £200 payable with the final balance, and returned when the apartment has been checked, and you are home.

There is a cot and high chair available at no extra charge, but it must be requested at time of booking.

Booking Notes:
The apartment is generally booked for full weeks, but we will consider shorter breaks out of season.

Changeover Day:
During the high season July and August changeover day is Saturday, but it is always worth checking to see if we have flexibility out of the main season.

Arrival after 2pm, departure before 10am.

Deposit of 50% payable at time of booking (non refundable) with the balance due one month before departure.

Deposits are non refundable but very happy to try and offer alternative dates.

For early bookings received before December 1st, a reduced initial deposit of 25% payable at the time of booking (non refundable), then 25% on January 1st, with the final balance and breakage deposit payable one month before departure.
