Built in traditional Sardinian style, the apartment is set in quiet location within pretty gardens, and has a large covered fully furnished terrace, and small walled garden and an upper solarium terrace with amazing uninterrupted views over the Golfo di Olbia towards Isola Tavolara.

The apartment is tastefully furnished to a high standard, and is professionally maintained by a local English lady.

There are no owners possessions cluttering up the apartment as we lock them away in the third bedroom.

Optional air conditioning/ heating, payable either in advance, or can be chosen on arrival and the cost deducted off the breakage deposit.

Wifi.

Private covered allocated parking space.

Use of communal pool and sun bathing terrace with life guard (June - mid September).

The nearest beach is just a 10 minute walk away, and it 1.5km of beautiful white sand and crystal clear water. You are split for choice with many more equally beautiful beaches close by.

Olbia and its airport are only a 15 - 20 minute drive away, so a nice quick easy transfer time.

The nearest restaurants are just a 10 minute walk away along the local beach, all with beautiful sea views.

The location is perfect for exploring the coast and unspoilt interior of the island.

Ideal for a summer, or an out of season holiday.

For larger groups I have two three bedroom villas both with private pools in the same location.

We are a family of 4, we first visited the island when our children were young,(they are now in their early twenties) and have seen them grow up enjoying the freedom and safety of this beautiful island - there is something for everyone!

As with all our guests we work very hard and are restricted to definitive holiday periods, so we try and make everyday count for our guests by sharing the knowledge that we have built up over the last 10 years.

We visit Sardinia regularly throughout the year so keep a close eye on the property so it is well maintained. We try and make the whole holiday decision making and booking as easy and painless as possible. So from the moment someone chooses to holiday in our property the fun starts!

Your photos and descriptions do not do justice to the apartment, its so much better, the location is perfect for exploring the island. A nice place to relax, put your feet up and soak in the view. It was refreshing to find an apartment designed purposely for rental, no owners belongings, we made it our home for 2 weeks. We had a lovely relaxing time in your apartment. The beaches were fabulous, and the information you gave regarding directions from the Airport were very good, this we found invaluable.The views from the terrace were amazing. August 2012

Your apartment is so clean and thoughtfully equipped and you provide such useful information to ensure that no questions went unanswered and we made the most of our holiday. Margaret was really helpful, with any query or request responded to without delay. The view from the upper terrace is stunning and our main reason for returning to this beautiful place ! Great villa in a great holiday destination

The villa was every bit as nice as we expected and we were well supported by Maggie, our host's representative whist we were out there. The kitchen is well set up for doing simple through to big meals; we do like to self-cater at least one meal a day. Everything you need is there.

The local beaches were just lovely and offered everything we needed in terms of restuarants and bars. The water is perfect and offers a gentle, sandy walk-in rather than having to pick your way through stones. The beach was ideal for small children. Snorkelling was better than I expected.

The food options available on the beach were many and of high quality. The most expensive place on the local beach was MamaBeach Lounge and Restaurant but it would be a 'go to' place for those wanted a 'club' night experience. The other places were great value for excellent food; best sea-food and fish I have had in months. Anna Marie's villa also had a cool-bag and sun-umbrella if you wanted to do your own pic-nics.

If there was a downside, and it was a small one, the village of Pittulongu is more of a holiday neighbourhood rather than a traditional village. There isn't really a centre/square to meander to in the evening and people watch. That said the neighbourhood is really nice and we loved using the terrace to watch the sun go down.

We pride ourselves on our honesty with both our photos and write up. We have always enjoyed self catering holidays both as couple and with children so have pulled on our own expectations as far as furnishing and 'kitting' out the apartment. We have tried to think of the important items that people want to make their holiday comfortable, like for instance items for the beach like an umberella and freezer bag. We make ourselves readily available to our guests, but felt it was really important to have a local representative that could speak English. Margaret although English also speaks fluent Italian which I think is a bonus as my guests know that that they have a reliable person locally who they can speak to easily and quickly in the event of a problem. We chose our locality carefully as we wanted a peaceful all year round location close to the beach and country but also close to local amenities. Pittulongu was perfect for that as it has beautiful beaches, unspoilt hills, great restaurants, local food shops, but is close enough to pop to the 'bustle' of Olbia for exploring, shopping and nightlife.

Stunning View

This is a wonderful apartment with everything you could possibly need. The view from the roof terrace was stunning and one we enjoyed watching at all times of day and night! Like previous reviews we so enjoyed the patio and garden area that we ate in several nights to enjoy the ambience- the candles and games provided added to the atmosphere! It was very hot during our stay so it was great that air conditioning was available and Margaret was very quick to sort it out for us and could not have been more helpful during our stay. The local beaches are stunning, all in all a great place to relax .

Apartment was one of the best.

We had a fantastic holiday, we were very upset to leave the apartment and Sardinia. We fell in love with your beautiful apartment, in fact we loved it so much we did not go out very much in the evening, but enjoyed cooking and eating on the terrace. There were many thoughtful things like a beach umbrella and a freezer bag which made going to the beach simple. You had obviously taken lots of time to compile your information folder, it was invaluable, especially the recommendations for beaches and places to go. We found your representative very helpful and friendly, and felt very comfortable that if we needed anything she was only a phone call away, and importantly spoke English. Thank you again for such a lovely holiday, we will most certainly return, and are already telling our friends all about it.

Enchanting

Fabulous spacious apartment with great facilities. Easy short transfer from Olbia airport.

Light, airy accommodation decorated to a high standard. Two fantastic outside seating areas...the upper balcony has breathtaking sea views.

Two bathrooms, both with showers, ideal for a family of four, two couples or just a bonus for a couple who appreciate their privacy.

Well serviced by friendly approachable English lady who provided fresh milk, water and a chilled bottle of wine for our arrival. The information left at the apartment was invaluable in us making the most of what the island has to offer and the personal touches such as Cd's, books and magazines where an unexpected bonus.

The apartment was amazing

Thanks, we had a great stay in your beautiful apartment. The apartment was amazing - the view from the terrace was superb! We will defiantly be back at some point, and have already recommended it to friends.

We especially liked the very helpful information folder - we spent a fair amount of time at Mama Beach (restaurant) as a result !

Location

From the Owner

After spending two great holidays on the island we succumbed to 'Sardiniaitis', and had to buy our own property to be able to go and escape as often as possible. We choose this area as we fell in love with the North East coast, but wanted to be close to the airport (only 15 minutes) and to the year round facilities of Olbia. Our village, Pittulongu is in a fantastic area with great beaches and amenities. We know there is nothing worse than staying somewhere and finding cupboards locked or cluttered with the owners belonging. So we lock all our possessions away in the third bedroom, so the apartment is uncluttered. This enables our guests to treat the property as if it is their 'own bolt hole'. The most beautiful time is out of season May/June and September/October.

The apartment is well located for exploring the unspoilt interior of the island, the mountains and the many archaeological remains. Olbia is a lively all year round city with many facilities, whilst the glamour of the Costa Smeralda and the artist village of San Panteleo is only a 20 minute drive away. Corsica can be reached by ferry from Golfo Aranci 10 minutes drive away. Available locally trekking, horseback riding, tennis, beach volley ball, sub-aqau, windsurfing and kite flying. Boat hire available in local marinas. Exclusively available at affordable rates to our guests is the use of either a 41ft Catamaran or a 51ft Beneteau yacht, both are child friendly and have English speaking skippers. Longer charters also available at special rates. We also have two three bedroom villas available to rent in the same location, ideal for larger groups who require a degree of independence.

Coast/Beach:

The apartment is in a perfect location for exploring the many stunning beaches of the Costa Smeralda, Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo. The nearest beach is a 10 mins walk, there are 6 more beaches all within a 10 mins drive. The sea is crystal clear, all the beaches have clean white sand. Most have lounger, windsurf, and pedalo hire and beach bars in season. The sea is warm from early May - November. Facilities for sub aqua, snorkeling, swimming, sailing, big game fishing, kite and windsurfing.

Travel:

Olbia airport is 15 minutes, Alghero airport is 1.5 hours, Cagliari airport 4 hours away

To Olbia - Easyjet from Gatwick, Luton, Bristol and Manchester. BA from Heathrow. Meridianna from Gatwick

To Alghero - Ryanair from Stanstead

To Cagliari - Easyjet from Gatwick

UK flight time is approximately 2.15 hours. With a 15 minute transfer from Olbia airport, an early morning flight from the UK will allow you to be sunning yourself by lunch.

Ferries to Olbia from mainland Italy.

Distances:

The nearest beach is just a 10 minute walk. Olbia and Golfo Araci are a 10 minute drive, Porto Rotondo 15 minutes. Porto Cervo and its beaches 30 minutes. La Maddalena archipelago 45 minutes, accessible from Palau. Ferries run frequently from Golfo Aranci and Santa Teresa to Corsica. Why not consider a two centre holiday one week in Sardinia speaking Italian, and one week in Corscia speaking French.

Further Details:

Pittulongu has various good quality restaurants and bars. The closest restaurants are just a 10 minute walk away right on the beach. There are also two well stocked local supermarkets, one within walking distance at the bottom of the road, and the other larger one just a 5 minute drive. Locally there is also a fish shop, a bread shop, and several pizza take aways. Larger supermarkets can be found in Olbia, along with an all year round twice weekly street market, and many shops, restaurants, bars and night clubs. In August there is also a lively night market in the main street. Olbia also has several large banks and a Hospital. There is a large swimming pool complex 8km away with three Olympic size swimming pools, a health spa and tennis complex - open all year.

Golfo Aranci is just 10 minutes away with a lively port, a weekly street market, and an evening street market in the summer.

There is a fantastic water park in Baia Sardinia.

The property is conveniently located close to Olbia and its airport, so transfer time is only 15 minutes. Locally we have restaurants, bars and shops that remain open all year round - very important. We are situated in one of the prettiest and unspoilt areas of the island, yet it has the unique benefit of having access to amazing beaches, unspoilt countryside and the glamour of the Costa Smeralda. This property is very well appointed, and as we use it personally it reflects our personal experience of what we would like to have available to us on our holiday. We have an English lady who lives locally, who looks after the apartment, so help and advice is always at hand. Yes, it is a view that 'takes your breath away'.
