The house sits in large gardens containing both ornamental and fruit trees, including walnut, plum, peach, pear and a small herb garden. Just outside the house is a sunken garden with a large dinning table and BBQ. The private 10 x 5m swimming pool has an outdoor shower and attracts full sun all day there is a selection of pool furniture, umbrellas and sunbeds. Most enjoyable stay, as our first time in the area.Very relaxing especially when you need to get some rest after radiotherapy and will definitely book for next year. The place is equipped with everything you need, well furnished and joy to stay. The booking process was easy and any queries were answered immediately. I would recommend the place to my family and friends.

Perfect quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is an adorable French home set among fields and woods just a 5 minute stroll out of the lovely little village of Payrignac. The house is equipped with everything you might need including a huge dining table, comfy sofas and a superb pool. It is a tranquil, private, peaceful paradise.

Peace and a Polecat at Les Pincats

  • 4 of 5

Les Pincats spacious living and kitchen area gives it a pleasant, open feeling. Its spacious garden is well cared for , especially the interesting variety of trees. There are plenty of places in which to sit- as the mood, or the sun, takes you Its owners have thought carefully about the needs of short stayers, each new letting is kitted out with a bag of housekeeping basics- a practical welcoming touch. The kitchen is well equipped, the hot water works, the pool is clean and in good shape, instructions are comprehensive and well displayed. Local information is clear and neatly filed.

Les Pincats is on a minor road but peaceful, a few minutes walk or drive outside Payrignac. The village has a school, a Poste, a Mairie and a good basic, friendly restaurant ( with WIFI access), but no shop. This hardly matters as Gourdon is only five minutes away and has all that you might need- banks, a hospital, supermarkets, a cinema, several restaurants and a good boulangerie. In the summer season i.e. in French holidays there are concerts and other events there. This year (2014) a farm shop opened outside Cougnac- about five minutes drive away.

Keep a look out for the European polecat we saw running across the garden in the distance- twice- and see if you can get a photo to prove what you have seen!

Fabulous Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I loved this beautiful and comfortable cottage in the idyllic country side of the Perigord. The location is good for touring. We visited the old town of Sarlat, the wonderful Rocamadour, picturesque Roque-Gageac and the hill top village of Domme. The Dordorgne river is only a short drive and there are several places to hire canoes. There are also many interesting chateaux in the area to visit.

However if sitting with a glass of wine and a book is your thing, the cottage has extensive grounds which are well kept, and there is a lovely pool, a barbecue and plenty o f places to sit and eat al fresco. The owners Terri and Alan are very conscientious with lots of information about the local area available to help you enjoy the surrounding area. There are many local restaurants and of course the local supermarkets and shops in the nearby historic town of Gourdon. For us it was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of life.

The cottage was really well maintained and equipped, very clean and comfortable and the owners were very helpful in accommodating our booking. Its listing description is totally accurate and the inventory exceeded our expectations with hob, oven, fridge/freezer and satellite TV. Open plan living/kitchen/dining area downstairs was spacious and comfortable with all utensils/crockery and accoutrements present and in perfect condition. The bedrooms and bathroom were spotless and it is impossible to fault this lovely holiday home.

Outstanding

  • 5 of 5

This is the best property we have ever stayed at. The facilities are brilliant and the setting lovely. The pool is an outstanding feature. The house is is just fabulous and there is nothing that is not supplied. We can not find fault with any part of our stay. Terri is just a great owner. During our stay the TV stopped working which was not a problem to us as we like to read and listen to music. Great CD player. I got in touch with Terri not because it was a concern to us but we were concerned that the next people to arrive might be disapointed. Terri phoned straight back with suggestions but nothing worked. I got a text from Terri that a replacement TV would be sent the next day. This just goes to show you get first class service in a first class house.Book this house with confidence you wil be amazed!!!!!
