Apartment in Kalkan, Turkey - Ideal Location, Short Walk to Beach and Town Yet Quiet and Secluded

Our apartment is ideally located within an easy 5 minute walk to the quaint cobbled streets of old Kalkan, shops, restaurants, bars, bus and taxi stop. The beach, harbour and swimming decks are 10 minutes walk away. Kalkan town, at night, is were it all happens! Shops stay open till late, and the evenings are spent strolling down the fascinating cobbled streets, meeting new friends and greeting those you already know, stopping for a drink at a pavement bar or negotiating to purchase that special Turkish carpet! The location is very quiet and secluded, yet you are right in the heart of the action - no need for a car or an expensive taxi home after a long day! It is in a small block of just 6 apartments, who share a very large sparkling pool, meticulously maintained. The apartment block has a fresh coat of steel blue paint this year. About Beryl

We have been involved in the travel industry for 30 years and have owned our own guesthouses for much of this time. This has helped us understand just what a guest wants and how best to make a comfortable, hassle free holiday possible for guests. We love travel ourselves and enjoy helping people find the right holiday to suit their needs. We live in Hermanus, South Africa,which is similar, in many ways to Kalkan, one of the reasons we love it so much! We, too, live with a view of a beautiful bay (Walker Bay) which is surrounded by mountains, as Kalkan is.

Turkey is our favourite country! We love the friendliness and hospitality of the people, the nature, beautiful clear sea, the food, the culture. Kalkan was our choice for being small enough to be personal, and yet have all that one wants in a holiday destination.

Our apartment is so central - to the sea and beaches, the charm of the Old Town, restaurants, supermarkets, banks, transport, all within easy walking distance, yet in a quiet location, away from crowds and noisy disturbances.

Notes on accommodation: The air conditioning is very effective in keeping the entire apartment cool in summer. There is a large fan for those who prefer it. Heaters are provided in winter. Mosquito netting cover all windows. The large balcony is a delight in the evenings, with super views over the mountains, and the refreshing, cool pool just in front of you. There is a DVD player for movies and a CD player with Ipod docking, books, magazines and games for your use. There is no TV. Sport on Sky TV is shown at any number of bars and restaurants, which you can enjoy in the company of other supporters. The apartment and pool area are serviced to a meticulous standard. Reception service. Tours, gulet cruises, can be booked. The environment is ideal for children of all ages. Outside: Enjoy the really large pool, belonging to just 6 apartments, from the comfort of your own balcony. The apartment has 4 loungers with padded cushions and a large parasol, for the exclusive use of our guests. There are also large marble outdoor tables and chairs should you wish to eat outside. We have a lovely, secluded patio with sea views, tables and chairs ideal for guests to enjoy sun downers. The gardens have lovely, shady trees and beautiful views. There is a free Wi fi internet connection for the use of guests. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment is cleaned weekly. Bed linen of the finest 100% cotton percale and fluffy large bath sheets are changed every 4 days. Bins are emptied daily. The pool area, loungers and parasols are kept spotlessly clean by the friendly staff.

Kalkan Secrets

This was our 6th year in Kalkan and we are never disappointed. The apartment is really comfortable for two. The terrace overlooks the swimming pool and has furniuture so you can eat outside.

Good location, just far enough to walk for daily exercise,quiet & secluded & a beautiful view of the mountains.

The apartment is ideal size, well presented & well maintained & an excellent pool..

Excellent apartment and facilities

This was our second stay at "Dawn" apartment and enjoyed it as much as we did before. The apartment is very comfortable, all the facilities you need and well equipped.

The pool is brilliant. Very big compared to a lot of apartments in the area, and because there are only 6 apartments in the block it's never too busy. In fact, most days we had it to ourselves!

Excellent location as well. 5 min stroll into town and only a 2 min walk to the Yali supermarket.

Will definitely be returning in the future.

Fantastic!

We have just returned from a fantastic two weeks in Kalkan!

The apartment is a lovely and spacious in an ideal location, just minutes walk to bars and restaurants, yet quiet enough to enjoy relaxing by the pool or on the terrace. There are a few smaller supermarkets, green grocers and bakeries again working walking distance to pick up any supplies. It may be worth noting that there are some very steep slopes down/up to and from the old town where restaurants/bars/shops are located.

We have fallen in love with Kalkans charms and we are already planning a return to this lovely apartment and beautiful seaside town.

We have been extremely impressed with the communication with Les and Beryl, from booking, arranging transfers and feedback from our travels.

We cannot wait to return!

Kalkan is a steep resort, but the upside is the wonderful Taurus mountains that surround it. The walk from town is managable, and gets those muscles working! We can them "Kalkan calves!"

Great Value for Money

We had a lovely holiday. The web description was accurate. The owners booked the airport transfer which worked very well. The apartment was spotless and well equipped.The location was fine and entailed only a short stroll to the pedestrianized town centre with it's numerous restaurants and shops.

We loved Kalkan. We found the locals to be very pleasant and friendly. We will certainly be returning. "Dawn" apartment represents very good value for money and we do not hesitate in recommending it.
