This beautiful large villa/townhouse has its own balcony and barbecue area with both valley and sea views. With all new linen and towels this house is ideal for families. It is part of a small private secure development of large houses located in an exclusive estate built on a hill top just a short downhill walk from the lovely and ancient town of Tavira. It offers a large swimming pool, flower gardens and panoramic views. Tavira has many shops, bars and restaurants, a marvellous fresh daily market for vegetables, fruit and fish, regional and flea markets. It also has some of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Algarve. A short 5 minute boat trip or an old tram will bring you out to the island and what will greet you then will be worth the wait.

'We stayed for 2 weeks in July, a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Our recommendation is a maximum of 6 people. 6 would have good space. A Nice property, very high standard, calm and tidy. The property itself is located in the outskirts of Tavira on top of a hill. You do not need a car unless you want to see more of Algarve. Very friendly Landlord. The Property Manager was very helpful, though there was actually no need for help. On the terrace there was a charcoal bbq for nice evenings -buy fresh fish and shellfish at the local market downtown. The shared pool was big enough for swimming, clean and nice, but who needs the pool when some of Europes best beaches are so close. An extra plus is that one could swim in the pool whenever one wanted. A midnight swim under the moon before bed was great' - review Submitted by M. Fox.

Great place for families

Myself and my wife stayed here with our 2 Kids for a fortnight last summer and loved every minute of it. The house is in a really safe development and we could keep an eye on our 3 yr old at all times. The pool is safe and the gardens are great.

The house was also safe with stair gates and safety equipment. It came fully stocked and had lots of toys for the kids too.

The town is only 5 minutes away and it's a great place for a relaxing break. I'll be going back asap!!

The Quinta Do Perogil estate is the nicest in all of Tavira and Tavira is the nicest town in the Algarve.

Special interest holidays:

A days sailing on a luxury 40 foot yacht can be arranged to include lunch and drinks. You will be collected from the house and dropped back afterwards.

Coast/Beach:

Tavira has some of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Algarve. A short 5 minute boat trip will bring you out to the island and what will greet you then will be worth the wait.

A great idea is to drive 5 minutes to Santa Lucia and get an old Tram to the Beach. The journey only takes 3 minutes but children will love it.

Travel:

Tavira is situated 30 minutes east of Faro airport. We can arrange a pick-up, there is also an excellent train or bus connection for shopping in Faro.

From Tavira a train goes throughout the Algarve to Sagres, a trip to Seville (Spain) can be made by bus.

Taxis around Tavira are a set fee of 3.90 euros.

Distances:

Historic Tavira is at walking distance, another option is to travel 15 km to the charming fishermen's towns like Olhão and Fuzeta, the nature reserve Ria Formosa is 8 km away, unspoilt villages like Santa Luzia, Cabanas, Cacela Velha 6 km, Spanish border 35 km.

Further Details:

Tavira has many shops, bars and restaurants, a marvellous fresh daily market for vegetables, fruit and fish, regional and flea markets. PATIO which is just located over the Roman bridge and is without a doubt is the best resturant in Tavira. Go early though, between 6.30 and 7.00.

Guided tours in the historic town, tourist train, museums and over 35 churches, antique Roman and Moorish places of great value.

  • Notes on accommodation: As the house contents and furnishings are all new, you will enjoy comfortable surroundings and a child friendly house. Both cots and highchairs are available on request at no extra cost. WiFi has been installed May 2013. Outside: There is a very large shared swimming pool and gardens. It's never too busy as most houses are owned by ex-pats who are not often there. A spacious south east and south west facing balcony terrace with garden furniture, sun loungers, parasol and BBQ will give you great enjoyment in the evenings. The gardens are accessed through the ground floor and you can sit surrounded by trees and read a book in peace. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: A guest service is provided 24 hours a day. Fresh Bed linen and sets of towels are changed weekly. Final cleaning is at no extra charge. Also no deposit will be put on your visa, instead, a small cash deposit to the lady who looks after you for the week. Other: Beautiful barbecue in a balcony with beautiful views. Over 300 square feet gives you the option to sunbathe all day at any time of the year.
