House outside Deia, Mallorca - In One Of The Most Beautiful Unspoiled Locations On The Island

It is down a unasphalted road 1 km from Deia which passes through terraces of ancient olive trees and enjoys breathtaking views of the rocky coast and sea below from the large secluded terraces. A footpath leads down to the picturesque rocky cove of Deia beach. The main house is very tastefully furnished in modern style. On the ground floor there is a very light sitting room, open plan dining kitchen area with dining table and doors to the terrace. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with doors to the wooden veranda overlooking the sea. There is a separate and private Casita in the garden which has a double bedroom with en suit bathroom and private terrace. This house is the ideal tranquil and romantic hideaway.

We Loved It!

We have rented all over Europe and indeed, this is a very special property. There are only three other villas in the area, but they are distant, you hardly notice them. Otherwise, there is no traffic noise, and only views of beautiful ocean, gorgeous mountain forest vistas, lapping of waves in the distance and bird life. It is pure tranquility!

We really enjoyed the three different balcony areas that provide either sun or dappled shade any time of the day. We were a little surprised at the abundance of mosquitoes in the evening. The renovated villa is very charming and tastefully appointed.

Some aspects might be inappropriate for guests who are not fit, older, or with young kids. The walk from the car park is unlit, uneven and hilly and takes about 5 minutes. Tough if you are carrying heavy luggage or groceries. The long dirt road to the parking area for the villa is very narrow, rocky and potholed and precarious in places. Take care if renting a car.

The villa has lots of charm, though the appliances could use an upgrade.

There is no Wi-Fi, though we were able to get an Orange card in the neighboring town and a 4 Gig card lasted our two week stay (email checking and light internet usage.)

One downside, was that the remoteness of the villa, meant you had to remove all of your own garbage to a public facility a 10 minute drive away. Also the bedroom was upstairs and bathroom downstairs, with a very narrow spiraling staircase that did not have a rail.

Slight negatives aside, this is truly a special part of Mallorca, for people who want to experience a quiet secluded getaway. We LOVED it!

Owner's Response: A few helpful words to the situation of the house: Everywhere on the island you have to dispose your garbage at the nearest bins which are positioned along the roadside. In this case it is only a 5 minutes drive which most clients combine with other trips.

 It is only 80 m from the car park to the house which does not need 5 minutes? As you can read in the house description we have pointed out that it is not suitable for children.

 Many clients return to this house for the love of it‘s remote situation and an ideal getaway from their hectic daily life.

This is a rare case of where the photographs do not do the house or location justice - they are even more beautiful in reality. The house is very comfortable, clean and well equipped (as are the terraces) and the location is fantastic, with uninterrupted views across to the Cala Deia and out to sea. It is within easy walking distance of both the Cala and Deia village, but also quite remote and very quiet. Absolute perfection. Highly recommended!

Deia is a 5 mins drive away, Soller and Valldemossa about 15 mins.
