Can I just start by saying Wow Wow Wow we loved it, we had a fabulous holiday, only two weeks didn't seem long enough. Your villa was perfect for our needs. This was the first time we had chosen to holiday in a villa and wasn't sure what to expect but we are all now converted. The privacy was the most important aspect of the holiday which made it so relaxing." Mrs Ward - Doncaster.

Great holiday, Fantasic Villa +++++

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recommend this villa. We stayed there in July 2016. We are a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 Children aged 5 and 3 and we all had a fantastic time. This was the second time we have stayed here as a family and wouldn't hesitate in booking again.

The front of the villa has a large balcony with fantastic views and also a terrace on the lower floor. The balcony was great for us as there was a child safety gate at the top of the stairs which gave us huge peace of mind.

The rear of the villa also had various gates leading to the pool which was ideal having two young children of which 1 was still learning to swim. There is also lots of space for sun worshipping and dining outside.

The pool is a nice size and we couldn't keep the kids out they loved it so much. Having the pool at their disposal for a week left them fairly confident swimmers by the time we left.

The inside of the villa has everything you would need and we cooked our own meals occasionally. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. You can tell that this villa is looked after and regularly updated.

There are local amenities close by. A few supermarkets less than a 5 minute walk away and you can get to most areas of the resort in less than a 10 minute walk. The villa itself is in a great location where it’s close enough to access everything without hiking miles but it’s away enough to avoid noise. But Cala en Porter is not that kind of resort, it’s a family friendly resort that is good for eating out, a few drinks and light entertainment.

There a lots of restaurants to choose from and many cuisine options. Equally there are plenty of bars, some are tucked away so ask someone local for recommendations. I would recommend Bar 007, they have some great live music.

There is a beautiful coved beach not far from the villa via some steps. These aren't for the faint hearted and I would recommend walking into town and down the road access. It might take 10 mins longer but there are some cafes to stop and quench your thirst in en route.

The booking, arrival and handover was made very easy by the villa owners, they are very nice and helpful. We had a late flight on the day of leaving and it wasn't a problem leaving the cases at the villa for the day and collecting a taxi at the villa that evening allowing us to enjoy the last day.

We have had a great time on both occasions and would definitely go back again. I can't recommend enough. +++++

A great family holiday villa

  • 5 of 5

This property was ideal for our 3 generation family party of 5 adults and 5 children. The villa was modern, clean and well- maintained and the outside area with the pool and barbecue was much appreciated by our group. The children (8-14 years) loved the pool. The nearby beach was easy to access via good steps and it had no jelly fish, which some other beaches had at the time we stayed. Not far to travel to the airport, but not affected by aircraft noise. Shops and restaurants were within walking distance, but not impacting on the relaxed atmosphere of the villa. We walked to Calas Coves from here and saw the wild tortoises. We would be very happy to stay here again and recommend it to others.

Outstanding value villa

  • 5 of 5

My family and I booked this villa as it gave us the type of accommodation we were looking for with our own space. My wife and I stayed in the downstairs section and our Daughter and young family stayed in the top part of the villa.

Downstairs was well equipped for self catering with a modern kitchen including an upright fridge/freezer and a gas cooker, and two new sofas in the lounge area. The bathroom looked as if it was newly installed to a very high standard with a larger than normal shower area. Upstairs our family were greeted with the same high standard, also with a well equipped modern kitchen and living area, modern bathroom suite with a shower over a bath.

Having the bath was a bonus with young children for our daughter. The three bedrooms were all of a good size and the air conditioning with a real asset. Overall we found the villa very clean and tidy when we arrived. The dishwasher and washing machine were straight forward to use and came in handy with the children. There was a safety gate installed on the top balcony for the children as well as a gate at the rear, for the pool area. Plenty of sunbeds were provided, surrounding a well kept pool and bbq area, and a lovely covered eating area, with a table and chairs. There are so many restaurants and bars to choose from all within only a couple of minutes walk. Supermarkets were very close too. The bus stop is over road as were the beach steps. The bus runs every hour in the morning to Mahon, with its beautiful harbour, restaurants and shops with its own market every Tuesday. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villa and found the owners. We would have no hesitation in recommending this villa to anyone.

Great Villa!

  • 5 of 5

Recently stayed here for a week with my family and some friends.

The villa is separated into 2 self contained apartments, the upstairs being the larger, nicer and better equipped of the 2.

The upstairs was large, bright and airy. Spotlessly clean and well equipped with air conditioning, Sky TV, fridge/small freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The downstairs was smaller but we tended to congregate in the upstairs villa or garden area.

Garden and pool area was lovely and well kept with a barbeque, lots of sun loungers and a shaded eating area. Our children had to be dragged kicking and screaming from the pool on our last day, which was safe and gated.

Situated on a quiet side street, 2 minutes walk from the main centre of Cala En Porter and the beach (lots of steps!). Lots of restaurants and bars and a couple of small supermarkets (best bet is to go to the larger supermarkets in Mahon for a proper shop), although the villa is well equipped if you want to eat/BBQ in. Plenty of parking outside if you hire a car, or a bus stop at the end of the road.

Owner is lovely and helpful

Only a couple of small points, some of the beds were on the uncomfortably hard side and we could have done with some more blankets as it was quite chilly at night.

All in all, we had a fantastic week, the villa was great and perfect for our needs and would recommend it to anyone

Needs TLC

  • 3 of 5

My family and I stayed at this villa for a two week holiday, and we had a fantastic time. But there were issues with the villa. It seemed very tired and dated. The photographs on the owners website were obviously many years old. The small bush in the main picture is now a fully grown tree reaching the balcony. The gardens if they can be called that were unkempt, and weeds some 12inches high were growing in the pool overspill. Inside it was dowdy, and needed updating. In the kitchen there was a cooker and dishwasher, outside a washing machine. No instructions were left on how to operate these. The cooker being what I considered dangerous as my 2 year old granddaughter could turn it on and the gas just escaped. The bedroom I used the top cover had not been changed, as there were coffee or chocolate stains on it. In the living area, the furniture was dowdy and part of one sofa was hanging off. The upstairs balcony lacked a gate to the stairway, this meant that that small children could not go out without an adult. We were also told we had to change our own bedding. This has never happened to be before, and I have been to many villas. Everything just seemed to be too much trouble for the owner. When we arrived she was struggling with the air con unit in the lower villa. She couldn't get it working so she just left us. Fortunately we changed the batteries in the remote and it worked fine. Perhaps I am being picky, but I think other people should be aware of theses things.

great villa fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the villa in June 13, the location is ideal as it is 2 minutes walk from the town, but is in a quiet street. The villa is great as it is on 2 completely separate levels with an entrance for both. It was ideal as my parents could have some peace and quiet in their section, as they had their own kitchen and all the facilities, while we could happily live on the upstairs floor. The outside facilities are good, with plenty of loungers, and a large outdoor table and chairs which is covered by a cooling gazebo which makes eating outdoors a pleasure. I would recommend going to the main supermarkets in Mahon to do a large shop, where the fish and butchery sections are amazing, as there is a lovely barbecue area in the garden to use. It was a lovely villa and I would advise anyone to rent it.
