Apartment in Cala d'Or, Mallorca - Very Quiet Location, Within 3 Mins Walk to Beach

Refurbished luxury apartment incorporating 2 bedrooms and 2 en suite bath/shower rooms. One double and one twin bedroom with z bed. Possible use of sofa to sleep one.

Modern refitted kitchen. Access via lounge area and both bedrooms onto large sun terrace which overlooks large pool area. As well as the main pool there is a children’s pool, sunbathing area with many sunbeds around the pool. There isn't a need to hire a car unless you wish to visit other attractions on the island as all you need is just a 5 minute walk away. You will have the best of both worlds as the apartments are very quiet at night but if you want a little life just step out of your front door and enjoy everything that Cala D'or has to offer.

Why Carole chose Migjorn Region

After falling in love with Majorca over many years, and particularly Cala d'or, we decided to realise our dream and purchased our apartment.

We chose Cala d'or as it is a family resort with a very laid back nightlife, revolving around nice restaurants and bars. The many beaches around the area are small beautiful golden sandy coves and only a short bus or drive away from some larger beaches.

Set on the East coast it is far enough away from the bustle of Palma but within easy reach by taxi or bus if you wish. For us it has everything we were looking for in a holiday home.

What makes this apartment unique

Our apartment is an easy 10 walk into the centre of Cala d'or with all it's bars, restaurants, banks and exclusive shops, but being in a cul-de-sac it is very quiet in the day and at night. Our beautiful beach of Cala Esmeralda is only 3 minutes walk away, and the lovely Marina with its fine restaurants and expensive yachts is less than a 15 minute walk.

1. Had a great time the apartment is in a really good position and was spotlessly clean and very nice.

2. We stayed in the apartment in August 2009, as a family of four, and had a fantastic time. The layout is excellent, with the kids having their own bathroom. The apartment is very well equipped and the double-width verandah gives a large amount of extra space - perfect for long lazy lunches, and a welcome respite from the midday sun. Even in mid August, there were only ever a few people in the generous sized pool, so no need to put towels on sunbeds at 6.00am! The apartment is probably the best in the complex, as most others seemed a lot smaller. In fact it was so good, we only went to the beach twice. M. Chandler.

Easy 3 minute walk to Cala Esmeralda's beautiful sandy beach via steps from car park or through gate at rear of complex, a 7-10 minute walk to Cala Gran sandy cove, or 10 min. walk to Cala D'Or's beach. 10-15 minute drive or take the Glass Bottom boat from Cala Esmeralda Beach to beautiful Cala Montrago's beach and Natural Park with it's 2 sandy coves bordered by rocky headlands and pines edging down to the waters edge. Well worth a visit.


Nearest airport is Palma and the transfer time is around 50 mins. Car hire is not essential unless you would like to see local attractions. Taxi one way around 60-70 euros, depending upon number of passengers and time of day. Transfers can be arranged in advance with Resort Hoppers at a much reduced price.


Nearest town 5 minute walk away. Palma is less than one hour away, it has many sightseeing attractions, shops and restaurants, and a day in Palma is well worth it. The Caves of Drach at Porto Christo are 20 minute drive as is nearby Manacor, famous for its pearl factories. The beautiful beaches of Cala Mondrago and Es Trenc are a short drive away. And beautiful Colon St. Jordi a little further away. Aqualand & Marineland are in Magaluf near to Palma, they can be accessed by car, coach or bus.

Further Details:

Many Shops, bars, restaurants, banks and pharmacy are all within easy walking distance in Cala d'Or centre which would take 5 mins to walk or 5 mins in a taxi, as you have to go via a one way system. Supermarket 2 minutes walk from apartment selling freshly baked rolls, baguettes and cakes. Larger supermarket "Suma Cala D'or fruit" selling fresh fruit, veg, bread, cakes, and with a butchery and fishmonger, along with general grocery at reasonable prices is a 5mins walk away. Larger locals supermarket " Eroski" is around 15 minute walk, or 5 minute drive.

Notes on accommodation: This is a non-smoking apartment. Suitable for children, as there is a childrens splash pool, and the large pool is shallow at one end with gradual steps down, the large pool is situated around 12 ft from apartment terrace. There is an outside shower and numerous sunbeds, chairs and tables for your use. There are 3 fans, 3 heaters for winter lets, and a de-humidifier. Free Wifi is available (this does tend to be a bit intermittent at times) Outside: Very large sun terrace overlooking shared pool. Patio table 6 chairs and footstool. Rattan style sofa 2 chairs and coffee table, sun parasols, barbecue, 2 adult mountain bikes for your use, clothes airer. Buckets spades etc available for your use. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: No maid service, laundry or cleaning service provided, use of washing machine.
