Apartment in Sitio de Calahonda, Costa del Sol - Set In Beautiful Quiet Community Gardens With Pool

This apartment at Jardines de Calahonda is an ideal location for your holiday; it is suited to couples and families alike.

There is direct access from the spacious private gated terrace into the tropical community gardens, which are maintained to a very high standard.

The swimming pool, situated within the gardens, has 3 sections, 2 of which are quite shallow making them ideal for young children under supervision, and a deeper section for swimming. The swimming pool complies with the current Spanish legislation, being both fenced and having a lifeguard on duty during opening hours.

The apartment is located within walking distance (10 minutes) of the Los Cipreses / El Campanario shopping centres at Calahonda, where there are shops, a bank, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. The nearest beach, La Luna, is also a 10 minute walk away, reached via an underpass under the coast road at Calahonda. There are also many good beaches all along the coast from Marbella to the west and Fuengirola to the east.

The apartment is reached by a few steps from the road, where you can park your car and once inside the property everything is on one level. The apartment is undergoing a complete revamp of the kitchen / living area. It now has a contemporary open-plan style kitchen / living area. New photos added on 5th July 2016.

There are two bedrooms: the master bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed & the second bedroom with twin beds; both have en-suite facilities.

Living room with dining table (which you are most unlikely to ever use - the outside terrace is where you will sit to eat) and two sofas on which to sit as you enjoy watching a DVD on the Samsung 37" TV; there is free WiFi.

There is a BBQ for guests to use at the property.

A travel cot is available at no extra charge.

The apartment does not have air conditioning; however there are free standing fans for cooling if required.

Perfect Chill Out Holiday

We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday staying in this apartment in Calahonda. The apartment is beautiful and had everything we needed during our stay. The patio area is particularly nice and a good size with sun loungers and we were more than happy to spend a lot of our time just chilling out in the sun. The pool is very close to the apartment and although it is shared with other apartments, we found that we had it to ourselves for the best part of the mornings. My 10 year old daughter practically lived in there! It is perfect for children as it has a shallow part as well. For me, the washing machine in the apartment was a god send and how wonderful to be able to get the washing dry in the sunshine in record time instead of taking home suitcases full of dirty clothes and knowing it is almost bound to be raining when you get back!

We had been to Calahonda a few times before so were familiar with the area. It is a 10 min walk to the shops and beach which isn't much at all, although I would recommend hiring a car as the walk to the shops is very pleasant but walking back with heavy shopping bags in 40 degrees heat is a bit of a challenge, but maybe that's just me being unfit! As I say, we were happy to spend most of our time around the apartment and pool as we just wanted a relaxing holiday but there are plenty of places to visit and we did go to Marbella one day by bus which was nice although we left it quite late coming home and had to wait ages for the bus back. Cabopino is also worth a visit and can be reached easily walking from the beach at Calahonda.

All in all, we had a wonderful holiday and all agreed we didn't want to come home! Would definitely recommend this apartment for couples or families who are looking for a quiet, restful holiday and we would love to return one day.

We bought this property because of it's location within Calahonda - quiet yet within easy reach of shops, restaurants, etc. - also because it is ground floor with everything on one level and it has direct access into the community's gardens from the private gated terrace.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Malaga at 37 Kilometres Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach, La Luna, is a 10 minute walk away, reached via an underpass under the coast road at Calahonda. There are a number of excellent beaches all along the coast between Marbella to the west and Fuengirola to the east.

Travel:

Malaga airport is an easy 30 minutes drive away.

Car hire is not essential, but recommended.

Distances:

The apartment is situated at Sitio de Calahonda, a residential/holiday development approximately mid-way between Marbella and Fuengirola.

Marbella - 10km.

Fuengirola - 10km.

Further Details:

There is a small bar adjacent to Jardines, providing drinks and food; and a shopping complex with a bank, bars, restaurants and supermarkets just a 10 minute walk away.
