Cottage near Loja, Granada, Andalucia - Peaceful Location, WIFI, Easy Walk To Bars And Restaurants

Casa Jazmin, a detached cottage with WIFI, is situated in the small hamlet of La Realenga about 10 minutes by car from the town of Heutor-Tajar (HT) in Granada province. (Flights to Granada from London City, Gatwick and Manchester else fly into Malaga.) Loja and Montefrio are close by. Set in a large plot on the hillside with other similar properties, some of which are still working smallholdings. The cottage is surrounded by olive groves and has its own gardens and outside areas. From the roof terrace there are magnificent views of the Sierra Nevada mountains and its world famous world cup ski resort. There is a covered gazebo with fitted Bar-B-Q and outside kitchen. The cottage, which has been renovated to a high standard, sleeps 6 and is 25 minutes from Granada, 45 minutes from the coast at Costa Tropica, 55 minutes from Malaga and 55 minutes from the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada. The cottage is within easy drive of the Alhambra, Seville, Ronda, Cordoba and Antequera. As an alternative take the train through spectacular scenery to Algeciras.

"We loved your house and will always keep it in mind. You have a truly beautiful property and clearly you have had a hand in tastefully developing it. The area, weather and wonderful clean pool were huge contributory

factors- obviously. But the olive fields, privacy, stonework/tiling, metal grilles, old style charm all aesthetically pleased us immensley. The bedrooms upstairs delighted Anne. The house was comfortable and clean. The air con very necessary and welcome. I have to say that it was probably the best house we have enjoyed and saddest to leave - and we have rented lovely houses in France, Italy and Switzerland."

Notes on accommodation: There is air conditioning to upstairs and down and all rooms can be heated in the winter by underfloor heating/storage heaters and (kitchen/dining room) wood burning stove. There are also freestanding gas and oil filled heaters to provide instant heat. The large enclosed garden patio leads to an unfenced swimming pool, so children are to be supervised at all times. The patio has external wall lights to allow use during the evening. UK SAT TV is not available in southern Spain. Use Apps on Pads via Wi-Fi or Smart TV to watch UK TV stations. However, there is access to Spanish digital TV with football and English language films, and DVD films for adults and children. As well as all bed linen and towels we also supply beach towels so saving weight from your airline allowance. Outside: There are rose and oleander plants in the gardens to the west and east of the property. West contains a private pool (5 1/2 m x 3 1/2m) with shower. The private pool is reached via a patio terrace with artificial grass along poolside. Outside furniture and parasol are provided for the terrace. Shade is also provided by a mature tree/shrubs. Garden to east also contains mature trees and wildlife friendly terrain with a fixed gazebo with fitted Bar-B-Q and outside kitchen. There is an outside area to dry washing and ample off road parking. Utility Room: Washing machine. Iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bath, hand and beach towels and linen are included. If cleaning and linen changes are required during your stay please arrange this on an individual basis on arrival. Other: Large entrance area, (traditional Spanish nia) with ceiling fan, table and chairs. Patio with shade, furniture. Storage for additional garden furniture.

excellent position so as to reach local shops/bars along with great positioning for driving to Granada/Seville etc . The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay with plenty of privacy and quietness, with assurance that the next door neighbour is on hand if need be-great break

3rd stay!!

3rd stay in this lovely house. Never do much when we are here, but relax by the pool during the day and visit the local bars on the evening, but what more do you need on a holiday? I am sure we will be back again, thank you.

Lovely house

Our 2nd stay at this lovely house. Very well equipped, with everything you need, so gives the choice of cooking or visiting the local bars to sample the Spanish cuisine. Lovely stroll down the road to the very friendly local bars, I am sure we will be back.

Fully equipped peaceful cottage holiday

what a wonderful place for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. The house is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Relaxed by the pool during the day, ready for the visit to the local bars in the evening. A gentle atoll down the road to the very friendly bar at the end of the road then into La Fabrica. (More bars) Before the walk back watching the bats flying overhead.

An excellent spot for a fabulous holiday and I am sure we will be back. A big thank you to the owners

Cottage with stunning views

Just spent Easter in this lovely well equipped cottage, the owners have gone to great length to ensure your stay at Casa Jazmin will be a holiday to remember. The surrounding views are to die for. the terrace has a backdrop of olive groves and from the bedroom a stunning view of the Sierra Nevada. You are spoilt for places to visit in this beautiful part of Spain, Granada is only 30 minutes away and the Med one hour. The cottage is set in rural Spain, so for those in need of recharging their batteries and soaking up the local atmosphere I can't think of anywhere better than a holiday in Casa Jazmin

cottage in the quiet countryside

Lovely cottage in stunning countryside. We've rented many villas over the years but this is the one that felt most like home. Very well maintained, spotlessly clean and contains everything you could need. Very helpful to have beach towels provided and to have the friendly English caretaker next door. We did quite a bit of driving but the roads are empty and the landscape you drive though quite spectacular. We enjoyed day trips to the beach, to Cordoba, to Granada and explored the local town of Loja. I would say a car is essential as although there were 2 bars within walking distance there were no shops. All in all this is a beautifully presented home and a perfect spot for exploring Andalusia. A week wasn't enough!

The coast at Salobrena is less than a 60 minute drive away. Both the Costa del Sol and Costa Tropica coastlines vary with beautiful sandy beaches to pebbly bays and rocky headlands. Both are about 1 hour away along mainly quiet, free Autovias. (The Costa Tropica is quickest.)


The nearest airport is Granada, (20 mins), with Malaga only 55 mins away. A car is essential. There is off road parking at the cottage.


The local village of La Fabrica is a 15 minute walk where 2 bars and restaurants can be found. Another bar can be found at the bottom of the hill on the main road. The nearest small town of Heutor Tajar is 5km, Loja is 10km. Granada and the Alhambra/Generalife are 25km. Cordoba is 90 mins, and Sevilla is 2 hours away by car. They are also accessible by train from Loja. The tourist villages of Rio Frio and Monte Frio are close by.

Further Details:

The baker calls daily (Mon-Sat) at approx 8.30- 9.30, with butcher and fruit/veg calling twice a week. A large supermarket and small, but well stocked, shops and banks are 10 mins in the car at Huetor Tajar. A similar range of shops and supermarkets are to be found in Loja. Hypermarkets and first class stores/shops are to be found in Granada. Advance Booking for the Alhambra is recommended and this can be done locally through any branch of the BBVA bank. There is one in Huetar Tajar. However, it is recommended that you book on-line direct with the Alhambra. You can also go "on spec", ignore the queues and buy a ticket from the ticket machine instead. Remember that most buinesses in Spain still close for siesta between 2pm and 4/5pm every working day. However, large supermarkets including Mercadona in Heutor Tajar now stay open through siesta from 9am to 9.30pm. There is a new large Leisure Facility in Huetor Tajar including indoor/outdoor swimming pools and gym which is available at very low cost to all.
