About Lynne

Having visited the island for many years, we knew we needed to find something more permanent, and were lucky enough to find this plot of land and have the villa built.

Lynne purchased this villa in 2004

Why Lynne chose La Oliva

Fuerteventura is loved as a Canarian destination by thousands of visitors, and the village of Tindaya is an ideal location to explore the island and all it has to offer, while the Vista Montaña provides homely comfort and privacy for those days by the pool.

What makes this villa unique

As the last property in the South West of the village of Tindaya, the Vista Montaña offers a tranquil location for guests to enjoy the uninterrupted views to the Atlantic Ocean, and excellent sunsets.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Overall we had a great time and were sorry to have to leave and we would love to stay again.

Great Holiday

  • 5 of 5

My Parents have visited Villa Montana for a number of years, so we thought we would have a go. We have had a fantastic weeks holiday, Villa is well presented and decorated to a high standard, Pool is heated and was lovely and warm, area is not overlooked and very private, we loved sitting on the patio watching the sun go down, We would recommend the property for those wanting a peaceful away from it all holiday. Thank you to the owners for our stay, we would love to come back.

Lovely Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 5 and have just returned from this lovely Villa, it was just perfect lovely views not overlooked, the internal pictures do not do it justice. Supplied lovely towels and bedding lots of hot water which makes a change. We would recommend this villa to any one looking a touch of luxury. We could not fault this house the only negative was we had to leave. We would definitely come back. A big thank you to the owners.

Over-advertised, with invading carer

  • 1 of 5

We just got back yesterday and unfortunately this house is a bad choice.

Firstly - the owners are masters of marketing. The house has some marketable points and the owners squeeze everything and more out of them. Fast communication and very promising and comprehensive materials provided.

As for the house - here we go:

Very dirty pool - the pool was full (like hundreds) of small pieces of the pool cover floating around that was apparently falling apart. Everyday, after I uncovered the pool, I had to spend 15-20 minutes fishing with the net for ‘stuff’ and obviously didn’t get everything as it’s not possible.

Rotting pool-cover - did I mention that? Black in places, rotting and generally not making the pool experience nice at all. The carer said that the new cover is on its way. Good for the new guests (unless he continues selling this story).

The pool itself is of poor quality - made of a plastic foil of some sort, not tiles. It’s also very shallow - the most shallow pool of all the holidays I’ve had so far (nearing to 20).

Surprising unannounced visit of the carer. I actually spoke to the owner 3 days earlier to inform me ahead of any visits. Did not work.

A second (!) unannounced visit from the carer - on the day before departure. This time he actually used the keys and walked into the house thinking that no one was there. I was on the beach but my son stayed in the house. Scary moment for a 14-year old, seeing a stranger inside the house. Huge violation of privacy and T&Cs too. Was he coming in on the other days when we all were out?

But the biggest of all - before the booking, the owners agreed the late check-out, around 3pm. This was one of the deciding factors, with 2 kids and the plane back at 7pm.

Mid-stay it turned out that nothing of that sort, we have to pack and move out by 10:30am. But hey - we can “stay on the patio”!

And “other guests were happy with that”. Seriously.

There is a longer list of smaller things too:

Droning noise from the pool-heating machinery

Half-broken dishwasher

Bizarrely weak main fuse which blows up every time you have more than 2 heating devices on (like a kettle, oven, washing machine, etc)

Beach towels provided as advertised but turns out - not for the beach, just for the pool.

The owners mastered the marketing of their house but beware because you are not getting what you are counting on.

Owner's Response: Prompt entry to the villa is important to guests, and departing guests must allow cleaning to be carried out for the arrival of “follow-on” guests. We try where possible to accommodate late departure requests (FOC), but where it is a “deciding factor” guests usually book an additional night. Many owners require departing guests to vacate the villa completely, but where possible we allow guests stay on the pool & patio area (FOC) while the cleaning is being carried out (but without access to the villa itself). Most guests appreciate this and we will continue to offer the service. When advised of the pool cover issue in early December a replacement was ordered but delivery time was 4-6 weeks. However, pool covers are provided to keep debris out of a pool (and they will get dirty), but they are not essential, so had the guests contacted us we would have advised them to leave the cover off Pool liners are an industry recognised product, and we wish to make it clear that a liner is not an inferior type of pool construction. The depth of the pool (1.0m to 1.5m) is designed for “family use”, so to suggest the pool is “very shallow” is merely an opinion - however we will amend the property information accordingly. Access to a property by an agent is essential, and reasonable access must be allowed by guests. We understand the importance of privacy to our guests (many are naturists, elderly, infirm or disabled), so visits are made when the property is unoccupied, but arrangements can be made directly with the agent to avoid any embarrassment. However noting the guests comments, we cannot accept children being left unsupervised in the property (for any length of time) and will amend our guest notes to reflect this. The pool pump is essential to the operation of the pool, and is set to operate 0900-1700 for minimum disruption – It was replaced in 2016 so any noise/vibration is minimal. “Half-broken dishwasher” – The guest’s review was the first we were advised of this, but our agent confirms it is operating correctly. “Bizarrely weak main fuse” – As installed by the Canarian electricity supplier, it cannot be altered or tampered with, and as we advise in our guest notes can “trip-out” on occasion - But this only occurs when very high loads are used. Beach towels are supplied (FOC) and are intended for pool use, but we ask that they are not taken to the beach (as so many have been lost), but we will edit the guest notes to clarify this.
