Our property is located on the beautiful Greek island of Crete in the south-east Mediterranean. Ideally positioned on a hillside next to lake Kournas, the houses have a view of the northern coast of the island, overlooking the Aegean Sea. The surrounding environment is serene and beautiful. Acres of olive trees and green fields blooming with wild flowers lay a picture perfect location for any visitor to enjoy. The views of the mountainsides sloping down to the lake through the fields into the sea. The towns of Georgioupolis and Kavros are a few minutes away where you can shop dine or go to the beach and enjoy a variety of events. The city of Rethymnon a 20 minutes drive away and Chania can be reached within 35 minutes.

Along the coast the island has incredible beaches, rest stops, traditional towns and villages, all of which will make your activities as diverse as you want them to be. There are numerous beaches that you can visit and a variety of events and activities. Sunbathe, swim, spearfishing, jet-ski, windsurf, bar hop, party, dine take a ferry cruise and the list goes on.

When you visit the different towns and villages, you will enjoy the unique Cretan cuisine and experience an unforgettable taste.

About Stratos Christianakis

This is a family stone house that I was fortunate to inherit and which I fully renovated several years back. I kept the traditional 17th century look and added the luxury and necessities of daily needs. We are also pleased to have a guest book filled with positive customer experiences. I am back at work and needing another holiday!!!



Just a few words to thank you facilitating such a lovely, holiday, we had a great time. I have put my comments in your visitors book but the work that you have done within the farmhouse really is a credit to you and we all had a lovely time. My mother and father are in their early 70s and a couple of years a go my mother was taken very poorly, she states that sitting on the lake and staying in such a lovely abode resulted in one of her best holidays ever!! High praise indeed Stratos.



I'm thinking of bringing them out again in February for a week dependant on costs and wondered if you could give me details of costs; rental, flight costs and perhaps hire car. The timing of the week in February really does not matter we are very flexible.



Same numbers again - myself, Karen, Olivia, Mum and Dad...

This is a belated note to say thank you for the holiday arrangements. We had a great time and we delighted with the accommodation. Everything was as you had promised and the villas very much ‘home from home’. Athena was most hospitable and helpful.

We are planning to buy and build in Crete ourselves, so may need short-term accommodation (probably not for all of us) sometime in the next year or so. I will check availability with you nearer the time.

We are very satisfied with living in this property. The house is big , full of air and very nice. Being traditional Greek home (18-th century!)it has stone walls,high ceiling,a lot of space and cool air. All the windows are equipped with mosquito nets. Two bathrooms, good kitchen and cozy bedrooms allow to have all the necessary comfort. The house is situated in the village, in 200 meters from a big lake,in a very quit environment. At the same time there are only 4 km to the sea beach! Stratos was great, all our needs he arranged immediately and he took care of the pool. He was always nearby but not bothering us. We will definitely recommend this property to our friends!

Notes on accommodation: This traditional home was originally built sometime between the late seventeen hundreds fully renovated to accommodate the guests with the comfort of modern living. The unique Venetian architecture, thick stone walls, arches and traditional furniture, provide the guests with a pleasant experience of such architecture. The house has air conditioning and fans for the hot summer months and there is heating units available for winter stay, cozy wooden lofts used as sleeping quarters with windows that overlook either the mountain side or the fields or the north coast not far away. The kitchen area has plenty peach pine cabinets, a range-stove, refrigerator, microwave oven utensils. Tiled elegant bathrooms with a washing machine. There is traditional wooden furniture that blends with the architecture. The has a satellite TV, player. Additionally you have access to a multi-car driveway and additional parking outside the house area, pool area. Outside: Outdoor area with a small swimming pool with a lounge area. Chairs to sit and lounge chairs to sunbathe and two large pool umbrellas are provided. Also there is available a patio area two car driveway enclosed all in a security gated lot. Also we provide with an outdoor parking space adjacent to the wall. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We provide our guests with towels and linen with a change once a week including light cleaning. Daily service of swimming pool with required maintenance to be arranged. Other: The den with two couches coffee table and television offering satellite dish service and local digital channels. The den is a conversion of a grape-stomping vat, (a pigeage); part of a method of maceration used in traditional wine-making.
