Such a special place

  • 5 of 5

This is an utterly wonderful place to stay. From the fantastic welcome by Julie and Andy, the accommodation, the setting, the activities, through to the peace and quiet, we ADORE this cottage and won't stay anywhere else in Dorset. Two adults and a 5yr old - we've now visited twice and we're coming back next year too.

There's so much to do for all visitors. Our daughter loved seeing the pet sheep being sheared, beachcombing, Blue Lagoon and Monkey World. Husband loves Tyneham and the local military activities. I just love the peace and fresh air, slowing down a little or watching the constant bustle at the bird table. Never mind all the local towns, walks, castles, geocaching, Kingston Lacey (fab!), and the variety of incredible beaches.

Some nights we ate out, others we self-catered or had a bbq. It really didn't matter as we felt so relaxed here and one week wasn't enough.

It's a 10/10 from us!

A delightful stay

  • 5 of 5

We've had a lovely week at Breach Cottage! The cottage has been perfect - such a great base and it has everything we needed with lots of space for three adults. We've especially enjoyed having our breakfast in the conservatory. It has also been a real delight to have sheep, cows, deer and small birds to entertain us in such a tranquil place! Everything as described, very clean and very welcoming hosts. Thank you Julie and Andy!

Excellent.

  • 5 of 5

The listing description was very accurate, and the cottage is in a ideal location for visiting, Weymouth, Swanage, Dorchester, Monkey world and the Tank Museum, and many more locations. The cottage it self was spotless, and the furniture and beds very comfortable, and to see the birds and deer whilst sitting in the conservatory was delightful. As for the owners Julie and Andy, you could not ask for a better welcome, and I would love them to be my next door neighbours, as we never heard a sound from them, and when we left it was like leaving family, they were 1st class hosts. Will we be back next year, yes we will and for many years to come. Ken & Di Crouch.

Wonderful holiday

  • 5 of 5

Our week at Breach Cottage was one we will treasure for many years to come. It was the perfect place for our holiday with our two grandchildren (2 and 4). From Julie and Andy’s warm welcome to the distant views over the fields towards Bere Regis, we had a good feeling right from the start. We were shown around the cottage, which had everything we needed and more. The standard of cleanliness was superb, the beds very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space throughout. One of our favourite features was the large west-facing conservatory, from where we had a bird’s-eye view of the Sika deer that grazed close to the garden boundary. And watching the sun set in the evening was the most relaxing way to end each day. Our grandchildren loved the cottage too. They spent much of their time riding on one of the many scooters, trikes and bikes that resided in the garden shed. The patio around the conservatory was ideal for their scooter races and when they tired of that they played football in the large garden. Luckily for us we had the most perfect weather too. From the cottage it was just a short trip to Wareham (nearest supermarket), Kimmeridge Bay (rock pooling) and Corfe Castle. And Farmer Palmers, Monkey World and the beaches of Studland Bay were all within 20 minutes’ drive. Highly recommended cottage.

Creech's creatures.

  • 5 of 5

Very impressed straight away by the very warm welcome, the location and enormous conservatory. The property was very clean and comfortable. As others have already said, there is lots of wildlife around the house and we were delighted to hear nightjars and a cuckoo, regular visitors to the garden included goldfinches, green finches, a woodpecker, swallows deer and a cheeky squirrel. Many evenings were spent watching the live entertainment out of the conservatory or benches around the property. The whole Purbeck area seems to be one big wildlife reserve. The RSPB reserve at Arne is beautiful as are many of the local spots such as durlston park. It's easy to find plenty to do within several miles of the property wareham swanage corfe and lulworth within a few minutes drive further afield Poole Christchurch and Weymouth. There was so much to do it was impossible to fit it all in and the week simply flew by will just have to return! Julia and Ivor.

perfect

When we arrived at the cottage we were welcomed as if we were family.

The cottage was absolutely spotless. Even the wheelie bins are immaculate. Everything you can think of has been provided for. The sheep feeding routine never fails to raise a smile and they certainly wont let you forget them! Wildlife is in abundance and if you like nature you will not be disappointed with some of the visitors to the garden! If only all holiday rentals were this well thought out.

Julie and Andy have got this perfected and we will return again for sure.

We are a married couple with two teenagers and we all enjoyed our week thoroughly, our only regret was having to leave and a few tears were shed!

Thank you again Julie and Andy,

the perfect hosts.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: No pets and No smoking inside property. The cottage is set up for 2 adults & 2 children. We can be flexible by prior arrangement, however we do not allow 'surprise' visitors on sleepovers. As you can see, we have done our best to make the cottage as comfortable and versatile as possible to appeal to a wide range of guests. Breach Cottage is very family friendly, however, we have been getting increasing numbers of enquiries from couples wanting to book the cottage. We have found that we can offer a discount. Please ring for details. We do live next door and will both do our very best to help you (if you need us) to have a memorable holiday and hopefully come back again. On the other hand, if you just want to be left alone to enjoy your holiday, you can do so in the knowledge that we are here if you need us. Outside: There is a 1½ acre field adjoining the cottage with fruit trees and a large pond (with goldfish) to relax in. Amongst the local wildlife that visits regularly are deer, squirrels, badgers and pheasant etc. There is ample parking and some guests may like to bring boats or jet skis to launch at Kimmeridge or Wareham. In the garden is a small outhouse, which can be used for storage of bicycles and surfboards etc. To the end of the cottage is the lawn and patio area (not overlooked). This is ideal for relaxing and having BBQs. There are various items of outdoor play equipment for children to keep them very busy. A gas BBQ, garden furniture and sun loungers are supplied. Utility Room: Adjoining the kitchen the utility room contains the washing machine. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Property cleaned during changeover by owner, but guests are expected to leave property clean and tidy. Bedding and tea towels are supplied however, towels are not supplied. Other: On the end of the property is a large new UPVC conservatory adding an extra room to the ground floor. It has a pine dining table with 4 chairs, 2 easy chairs, a two seater settee and toy boxes. It also features an attractive old 'butchers block' table.
