3 Bedroom Luxury Villa in Calpe, Costa Blanca, Spain - Stunning Sea Views

El Ruisenor is on 2 levels, the main accommodation is on the 1st floor with great sea views and the private pool is on the ground floor terrace with poolside shower, sun beds and parasols. A BBQ area by the pool with outside lighting creates the perfect spot to enjoy the summer evenings. It’s set in a peaceful area surrounded by trees with shade and privacy while leaving plenty of space around the pool for sunbathing. La Fustera beach is 15 mins walk and Playa de la Fosa beach at Calpe 20 mins walk. Both can be reached in a few minutes by car. Les Basetes dive school and watersports centre is 5 mins walk away with a full range of activities including waterskiing, wakeboarding, rubber ringing, PADI diving courses, and catamarans and wind surfers for hire. It has an excellent restaurant and bar looking out over the sea. More bars and restaurants are a short walk from the villa, and local supermarkets and Calpe are a short drive away.

There is a CD/radio/Bluetooth speaker system.

We provide bathroom towels and beach towels.

We are private owners who live in Leeds, UK. We bought this property in early 2006 for family holidays and use it regularly ourselves throughout the year. Typically we are out there 5 - 6 weeks a year in the spring, summer and autumn.

Why Hugh Wright chose Calpe

After looking in various locations around mainland Spain we settled on the northern Costa Blanca because the season is long and warm and even in the winter months you can get fine weather.

The coastline is beautiful, to us it feels a bit like the riviera, lots of trees and very green - it doesn't feel as scorched in the summer as the more southern parts of Spain. The countryside is also mountainous and picturesque.

Calpe itself has a real Spanish feel to it (in spite of the British, Germans, French and Dutch visitors!) and they regularly have fiestas and parades through the streets.

What makes this villa unique

We loved the villa as soon as we saw it, the view out from the balcony across the trees to the sea is fabulous, the pool and barbecue area work really well, and there is plenty of space.

We are handy for the marina with its bar and restaurant and easy walking distance to other bars and restaurants so there is plenty to do.

We keep a range of pool equipment under the villa adjacent to the pool, which builds up through the summer as guests leave lilos etc.

Its a family property and we think it has a friendly family feel to it, we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

My wife and I spent the week commencing 3rd September 2016 at El Ruisenor. The villa is a home from home, is well equipped, was very clean, is as described in the Owners Direct listing and the photographs are spot on.

The quiet location is excellent, being only a few minutes away from Calpe by car or a 25 minute leisurely stroll along the cliff top path, which offers beautiful views, and also goes in the opposite direction to Fustera beach.

The highlights of the villa for us were the views and especially the pool. The pool water quality and temperature are the best we've come across.

The air conditioning units in the bedrooms are very good and the floor fan helped keep the air moving in the lounge. Curtains/shutters on the lounge and kitchen windows, which have net only, and the clear glass front door would have helped keep the heat out as well as improving the sense of security after dark.

Free to air UK TV channels are provided by a Sky box, it’s not a + box, and the WIFI is useable but a bit slow.

I would have rated the villa 5* were it not for quite a few mostly minor maintenance issues that the management company should have been aware of if regular checks are made and which have been outstanding for some time.

We had no access to the underbuild en suite bedroom so cannot comment on this.

Communication with the owner and the booking process/updates provided by Owners Direct before and after our stay were excellent. The damage deposit was refunded 7 days after returning home.

We had a great time and would definitely book this villa again if we decide to holiday in the Calpe area again.

Relaxing villa with lovely views

Great location close to Calpe (probably the best location we have stayed at so far - been 5 times) lovely pool area and well equipped with air con in each bedroom (a must for hot days), wifi and everything else we needed.

Relaxing family holiday in the sun

We had a lovely family holiday. The villa is private and spacious, near enough to shops and bars but in a quiet location. We had everything we needed and the villa was clean and fresh on arrival. We were asked our expected time of arrival at the airport and were delighted to find it was ready for us much earlier than 4pm, having left home in the early hours that was much appreciated, thank you.

We discovered karting, kayaking, jet skiing, and diving water parks and swimming with dolphins all within an easy distance.

A great holiday experience.

Car: recommended


La Fustera is the closest beach, 15 mins walk away. It is fairly small, with the usual beach bars and facilities. Playa de la Fosa beach at Calpe is a 20 min walk along the coast path. It’s a classic long sandy beach with all the facilities you would expect, life guards, volley ball nets, bars, restaurants shops etc. Both beaches can be reached in a few mins by car.


Fly to Alicante or Valencia, Alicante is slightly closer, an easy 1 hour drive from the villa. We would recommend that you hire a car. Lots of car hire options from Alicante airport. We can arrange a transfer from Alicante airport if required, please enquire.


2km from the centre of Calpe.

Families are well catered for with tennis at the local Club Tenis (clay courts about 10 minutes drive away with English speaking tuition).

Rock Climbing:

The area has a wealth of hillwalking, scrambling and rock climbing. Summer is a bit hot for this, but during autumn, winter and spring, the temperatures are perfect when combined with sunshine for 300 days of the year.
