Lovely Stay - Very good value for money
Lovely apartment on the first floor with an fantastic large roof terrace up a further flight of steps. Keith and his very sweet dogs where there to greet us along with a very generous welcome pack of wine, orange juice, fruit, butter, bread, cheese etc which was very thoughtful. The apartment is well equipped with everything you could possibly need including toilet roll, washing up liquid, washing powder, bin bags, foil etc. The location is excellent and you can easily get around without a car with a regular bus services to the beaches, if you don’t fancy the walk and lots of cycle paths and trains in both directions along the coast. It’s also an easy location to reach with a direct high speed train link to Agde from Paris. Take a pair of binoculars as their are planes, trains, loads of different species of birds, particularly early evening and an amazing night sky. You might even see a rabbit in the square! Thanks Keith
Home away from home in a wonderful town
"Tower" with accommodation on 1st floor and massive roof terrace on 4th. All for exclusive use. Central, charming and very well equipped (British style rather than sparse French holiday home style, even has UK TV via Internet). Fantastic British owner who can't do enough for you. Brilliant views. Ideal for two people (second bedroom is small) and you need to be happy with narrow stairs. Lack of air con is not a problem due to thick walls in most weathers but there are fans which are appreciated on the odd occasions when the outside temperature exceeds 35 degrees. WE have now been here 3 times and will come back again.
Perfect in every way
The apartment was even nicer than we expected from the photos. It has been thoughtfully designed and lovingly decorated over many years. Our children thought they were in Aladdin's cave with all the unusual ornaments, handmade furniture and other treasures. Keith looked after us so well and the cheese, bread, wine etc was gratefully received after a very long journey. We loved the location and the roof terrace was perfect for barbecues after a day at the beach. We dined in the Mare Nostrum after reading an earlier review and enjoyed a lovely meal in a fabulous location.
We would highly recommend this apartment!! Clean, all mod cons, great decor, a friendly owner and an excellent location.
Roof terrace heaven
A lovely warm welcome from Keith, his welcome banquet of fruit juice, milk, cheese and wine was very thoughtful. We enjoyed 2 weeks of amazing weather and lively entertainment in Agde. The roof terrace was the perfect place to either soak up the sunshine with amazing views out to the mountains or sit in the evenings enjoying a relaxing glass of wine watching a glorious sunset.
Great location and host
We've stayed in a number of holiday houses in the centre of Agde in recent years, but for the following reasons Keith's property has been the best.
Firstly it's located on the corner of a quiet square right at the heart of the town.
Secondly the footprint of the building is a bit larger than normal which means that the bedroom(s), living area, kitchen and bathroom are all on the same (first)floor and it's a relatively short flight of stairs up to the terrace.
Thirdly the far reaching views from the spacious terrace are magnificent, and particularly magical after dark.
Beyond the front door, the apartment has its own lockable entrance on the first floor, whilst Keith and his well-behaved dogs live quietly below. Keith is a friendly and unobtrusive host. The care that he took to prepare a welcome pack of fresh food (milk, bread, butter, fruit and wine) was much appreciated.
The apartment is strongly recommended for a couple or a family with one or two young children.
If you're eating out do try the Mare Nostrum on one of the river pontoons. We're not great connoisseurs, but in a crowded market we thought it offered the best combination of quality and price.
La Belle Agathoise, on the promenade, also offers excellent value for money: a thought underlined when we spotted Keith eating there. Finally, a little out of town, do try La Guinguette d'Asterix, alongside the the Canal du Midi just off the Route de Marseillan.
Enjoy your stay!
Lovely chilled out week in Agde. We were greeted with a great bottle of wine, cheese, fruit and milk. The apartment met all our expectations - being typically French and very quirky. The roof terrace makes an ideal spot to watch the sun going down over the ancient rooftops with a chilled glass of wine. Keith (and his girls) was the ideal host. Lots of interesting places to visit close by and great restaurants on the doorstep. We couldn't have wished for better weather. All in all a great holiday!

- Description of sleeping capacity: Sleeps 4 (2 Bedrooms) Notes on bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with bunk beds. The bunkroom is small and ajoins the main bedroom
- Notes on accommodation: While the apartment would accommodate a couple with 2 friends it is more ideally suited to a couple wanting space and calm. Pets are more than welcome. Long term bookings accepted all year round. Outside: The Glaciere apartment has a roof terrace with one of the best views in Agde. On 14th July you can often watch fireworks from your own terrace while enjoying a BBQ and a quiet drink. In the summer months you can watch the sunset over the hills while the swallows seem to dive almost into your wine glass. The terrace is ideal for intimate dinners 'a deux' or will accommodate 6 to 10 friends easily. There is a BBQ and the usual outdoor furniture: two tables, parasols, loungers (you're not overlooked so you can go for the all over suntan!). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included. End of stay cleaning included. Change of linen at the end of each week.
