About the Owner

I live in the North of the UK with my husband, our 3 daughters having grown and flown the nest.

We fell in love with France and especially Brittany while our children were growing up and visited lots of regions in France but loved the quietness and usual ares of Brittany best.

Dear Lynn

Just to let you know that we had a lovely time in Brittany. We had never been before but we loved everything about it. Your cottage is just so pretty and tranquil..

We met Denis who is very good at looking after your house, he came down the drive in his tractor the first night to make sure we were there. Then he walked down one night to ask when we were leaving so he could pick up the key. He was really nice, Keith managed to communicate a bit in his limited French but I can't speak French at all so it was a

bit difficult. Once he had seen that we were okay people he came back in his car with a gift of some home grown melons which was so nice of him. We left him a box of chocs when we left.

We turned everything off and left things clean and tidy, we accidentally took you box of tissues in the rush to leave as we left it a bit late as we did not want to go home. Thank you very much for letting us stay and sorting it all out at such short notice.

Location

From the Owner

We found Josselin, one of the close towns, so charming with it's beautiful chateau and quaint shops most appealing and the walks that can be made for miles along the Nantes Brest canal quiet and calming. The southern Brittany coast is only about 30-45 minutes drive from our cottage and the cotes sauvage is a great attraction. Most of all the roads are so incredibly quiet and a delight to drive on, no queues and quite refreshing.

Facilities

From the Owner

Our cottage is fairly remote and private with only a farm about 200metres away. There is no passing traffic to speak of and the large garden is super for ball games or just soaking up the sun. There is so much wildlife round and about and the trees around the house are home to many birds including owls at night. The house itself is also very old and quaint with a huge inglenook fireplace, old wooden spiral staircase to the first floor and boasts having been built in 1666 above the entrance door beam.
