Christine and I own and run a beach/gift shop in Burnham on Sea,Somerset.I am Somerset born and bred.Christine grew up in Ebbw Vale.I am also an Engineer and J.P.

Why Geoff Lewis chose Malaga Province (Costa del Sol)

After searching the whole of the Costa del Sol in 2002 we came across Hacienda del Sol.It was a hole in the ground then but there was a good feel about the area.It is equi-distant between Malaga and Gibraltar.40 minutes from each airport.The beach is protected.Close to famous towns and resorts.

The property is in a lovely location ,beach-side.It is ground floor.Secure underground parking.The terrace faces south,is a 4 min walk down our path to the beach.We are situated near to some of the most famous towns on the Costa del Sol and an easy walk to bars , Aldi supermarket next door,restaurants and next to Aldi a German brewery (fantastic beers!) /bar/restaurant with a lovely sun-terrace plus coffee bar,Italian cafe with childrens play barn incorporated therein.

Notes on accommodation: As this is our home in Spain and is furnished as such and not just as any old rental apartment. We pride ourselves on its comfort, cleanliness and spacious feel. We never tire of the view from the lounge/terrace. The garden is getting better every year and the Jasmin, Hibiscus and Bougainvillea we planted don't stop growing. The smell of the Jasmin at night is magical! The apartment is large and has a much bigger lounge than most on the complex. Being on the ground floor means we also benefit from a double sized terrace, half covered, half open where you can enjoy the sun all day as we face south. We have direct access to gardens and pool from patio.We have fitted a child proof gate to terrace to stop toddlers wandering off.Conveniently you can watch older children in pools from terrace. Another benefit of being on the ground floor is that the fridge is only a few steps away from the pool! Secure underground parking with lift direct to front door.Easy for unloading of kids and bags. Outside: Double glass sliding patio doors lead to large, south-facing private patio with table and 6 chairs. Being on the ground floor means the terrace is double sized, one half covered for cool dining and relaxing and for sun worshippers the other half is in full sun all day long. Toddler-proof gate. Direct access to exclusively designed, landscaped gardens. Beautiful, large swimming pool and separate paddling pool with ample sunbeds provided. No need to get up at 5am to reserve them! We are very proud of the pools and their cleanliness. The maintenance guys do a fantastic job. We employ a life guard for the summer holidays. The largest jacuzzi you have ever seen and paddle tennis courts are adjacent to apartment across the lawn and a full size court is also on site. A fully equipped gymnasium and saunas are open now on complex, free to our guests, between courts and jacuzzi. Accesss to gym with key card . Only owners and guests have access. Beneath the gym we have a table tennis set up. Utility Room: Separate utility with laundry sink, washer/drier and electric boiler. Clothes airer,iron & ironing-board provided. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen changed weekly.Apartment cleaned before arrival.Intermediate cleaning can be arranged for an additional charge. We provide 4 beach towels to save luggage weight. FREE highchair & cot , please provide own cot linen. Other: Hall with fitted wardrobes and drawers, cupboard with bookcase over.We have a good selection of books , DVD's ,games and toys , buckets and spades etc.

The most relaxing holiday I have ever had

Just come back from a 10 night stay at this apartment and have to be honest and say that this was the most relaxing holiday I have ever enjoyed. The apartment was spotlessly clean and more than spacious enough to accommodate the 5 of us that had traveled with every household need catered for. The details provided on this site were fully accurate with regards to the apartment and Geoff (the owner) was more than helpful with every question asked and certainly made our stay as enjoyable as possible. I would highly recommend this apartment to anybody as i think it would cater for many needs although i would recommend hiring a car if you wanted to take days out or dine out of an evening. I would recommend using a company called suntransfers if you were looking for a transfer from Malaga Airport (this was initially recommended by Geoff) as they were not only very affordable but very prompt and polite throughout the whole process of booking the transfer and the actual transfer. As for restaurants i would highly recommend Chilli's which caters for Indian/Mexican, Taninos which has a various selection including cocktails and if in need of a sunday dinner the Robin Hood Pub provides a very nice roast dinner. If you venture into San Pedro then Urban is very good as is Jacks in Puerto Banus. If you are looking for relaxing holiday then do not look much further than this as there were times when we were literally the only ones around or even in the pool, which was also very clean and well kept and bigger than what it looks on the pictures and is literally a 15 second walk form the porch/balcony gate. There is also the added bonus of there being an Aldi more or less directly next door. Thanks to Geoff for letting us book his apartment and also to Hilda who met us on our arrival and helped us to start off our holiday on a very easy note.

Ideal spot for relaxing with or without the kids

This apartment offers up all you need for a relaxing break. Good size apartment, plenty of space and two bathrooms which is a god send if with kids! Good internet connection if needed, the apartment stayed pretty cool but a couple of nice big fans are supplied too - the air con is regulated so can turn down too low but we found the fans did the job on the really hot days (temp reached 36 while there) Nicely situated between main town of Esterpona and Puerto Banus (about a 10 minute drive or a bus ride to each) or you can head up the mountains to Ronda which is really lovely (about 1hr if you drive carefully!) Very friendly, clean and tidy, the pool is clean and well looked after and was never too busy. You may need to get in the car or hop on the bus if you like nice sandy beach - many beaches in the area are a little stoney at the waters edge, we found few nice spots nearer Esterpona town - sunbeds are usually 5 euros each for the day which isn't bad... The food in the area is pretty good too, plenty of restaurants to choose from. There's a decent size supermarket 5 mins walk from the apartment which is very handy! This place is good value for money we could have stayed much longer which is a good sign!

We would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to chill away from the big towns but still within easy reach. Thanks very much to Geoff who was very helpful, nice and easy to talk to, gave us all the info we needed, there was also plenty of info at the apartment which was very useful too.

Home from home but with much better weather😀

We stayed in the apartment for ten nights and found the apartment spotless and very well equipped. The Urbanisation is very quiet and peaceful and there was no pressure with getting sunbeds. A short stroll away are a number of great restaurants; we particularly enjoyed tanino were they also have fabulous cocktails. When we arrived they were repairing the pool opposite our apartment but there were four others to choose from so it wasn't an issue. We woukd recommend a stay here😀

Perfect holiday - again...

Stayed at this apartment 2 years ago and had a great time then. We don't often return to the same place but this apartment was so perfect, we did so a couple of weeks ago. Apartment is spacious, well furnished, spotlessly clean with everything needed for a perfect holiday (including cafetiere and sunshine!!). The complex is manicured with beautiful gardens surrounding the huge pool. WiFi is great, full range of UK and Sky TV channels, extremely effective aircon and parking under the building with individual lift access. It is also a few hundred yards walk to a couple of superb restaurants - Cocomos (you probably won't want to go anywhere else) and a spicy alternative at Chillis. Comfortable sun beds provided and a 5 minute walk to the beach. No hesitation in recommending this apartment for families, adults, disabled access etc.

Excellent place

We had a fantastic week at Geoff and Christine's place. All the arrangements for the holiday were superb and very easy. The apartment is literally 30 seconds from the pool. The facilities are excellent - dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and washing machine. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. You are only a short walk from nearby shops and restaurant, although they appear further in very hot weather as it was when we visited! The facilities around the complex are very well maintained and I must complement the owners on the flowers around the apartment and the wonderful smells during the sultry evenings when enjoying a glass of rioja on the balcony. The Old Town Marbella is well worth a visit and much less ostentatious than the bling in Puerto Banus. Lovely area to visit and you can be guaranteed a very relaxing holiday. Perfect apartment!

This was the most perfect apartment, lots of space and smart furnishings. fantastic location very near to Puerto Banus and Estepona, all within minutes by bus, and the bus stop is just outside the door.

Surrounded by loads of amazing restaurants reasonably priced and a selection of cuisines as well as proper Spanish bars with great tapas.

The beach is 5 minutes away with great chiringuitos (beach bars).

The complex itself is beautiful with lots of flowers in the gardens and very well looked after.

The real advantage of this property is access to the swimming pool, gyms and tennis courts included in the price of the apartment.

The apartment itself was great! With air conditioning a good modern kitchen and washing machine/dishwasher! And a TV with 100's of channels/playstation 3 with games which we didnt use but I imagine families on holidays would love this!

This apartment has everything you'd have at home! As well as your own pool right outside of the window.

We had a fantastic week there and will definitely be visiting again next year.
