About the property

Two bedroom apartment on the La Plagne slopes and at centre of Paradiski

The apartment (38m2) is light and airy, attractively furnished and recarpeted throughout in 2015. It is fully equipped for six people, with two separate bedrooms and a bed settee in the lounge. It is situated in a timbered building 120 metres from the centre of the village of Les Coches, with its shops, restaurants, ski schools and ski lifts. One floor above ground level, the apartment is accessed by lift from the foyer. There are beautiful views from all rooms (and two balconies) across the Isère valley to Mont Blanc. Wifi is available in the apartment: a charge is payable by credit card.

The main door opens onto an entrance hall with coat rack and wardrobe, giving plenty of space for outdoor coats. The comfortable lounge/diner has two leather-covered armchairs, a bed-settee with cushions, two coffee tables and a wall-mounted HD TV. A standard lamp provides adjustable lighting. On the book shelves there is a DVD player, a radio with iPod dock and a range of books and DVDs. The lounge area can be closed off with a curtain when the settee is used as a bed, giving more privacy. There is a panoramic view from the window, and the glazed door opens onto the front balcony which has a bench and chairs so you can sit to admire the mountain scenery. In the dining area, the oak table is extendable to seat six, or retracted to seat four giving more space. The well-equipped kitchen has a fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave, slow cooker and electric kettle. There is a fondue set so you can enjoy a Savoyard evening. The double bedroom is attractively styled, has a double wardrobe and two chests of drawers to give plenty of space for your clothes. From here, a glazed door opens onto the side balcony, which also has chairs for sitting out for morning coffee in the sun. The bunk bedroom is separated from the main bedroom by the lounge, giving more privacy. The bunks are adult size and the room has a wardrobe and coat hooks. The bathroom has a full-sized bath with overheard shower and a heated towel rail. There is a separate toilet. The apartment is carpeted throughout. Heating is by thermostatically controlled electric radiators and the cost is included in the price, together with final cleaning. Bed linen and towels are not included but the owners will arrange for it to be supplied through a local agency if you wish: please ask for details. The apartment is located at the end of the corridor so there are no passers-by and you can sit out there in the afternoon sun. This is at ground level so it is often possible to ski back to the ski locker room.

The resort is on the pistes of La Plagne and at the heart of the huge Paradiski area of 450 km of marked trails. With just one uplift and a blue run, you can arrive at the amazing Vanoise Express cable car which links with Les Arcs. The area is famous for its wide range of summer outdoor sports: mountain biking, white water rafting, parascending, together with walks and climbs at all levels. The mountain scenery is a spectacular background at all times of the year.

About Jacky Parker

My family have been enjoying skiing holidays since 1970 and we have had experience of a large number of resorts around Europe. In 1999 we decided to put down roots in Les Coches because we liked its small village feel and bought the apartment. That plus the vast ski area available made the decision simple. Twelve years on we are still enjoying it all, winter and summer alike. We have made quite a few improvements to the apartment since we bought it and our regular trips there mean we can keep it in good condition. With grandchildren now beginning to ski we are looking forward to even more fun on the slopes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

‘We found this apartment an excellent ski apartment to rent. It was well presented, comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well equipped, with everything you could possibly need. We were so grateful for the perfect shower -consistently and hot and plentiful after each days skiing. The apartment has a ski locker which is down the end of the hallway, secure and easily accessible.

We loved the views from the balconies and enjoyed watching the snowy weather come in and change each day.

The apartment is well situated in Les Coches, a 5 min walk to the ski lift in the morning and able to ski in at the end of the day. Les Coches has the atmosphere of a safe family resort with everything thing within walking distance. We hired the apartment over New Year and most nights there were family run activities. Our children loved sledging down the Village sledging run and the ski slope.

Steve and Jacky were very helpful with booking and providing us with information as needed to make our ski holiday an easy one to organise.

We would fully recommend this holiday apartment without hesitation.’

An ideal apartment in Paradiski

  • 5 of 5

On this occasion I stayed in this delightful apartment for a week with my brother; though I must say that my wife and I, other members of our family and several friends on recommendation from us, have also enjoyed its amenities over the years. On our very first visit, some 10 or 12 years ago, we were met by a very well presented, and tremendously convenient accommodation for our week’s skiing. We have rented the apartment every winter season since, and occasionally in the height of summer. On the first occasion, what we found on arrival fully matched the owners’ description. The apartment was spotlessly clean, warm, well arranged and, perhaps most important, homely. Since that time, the owners have consistently taken great care to regularly update, maintain and extend the apartment’s facilities. Thus, the kitchen now sports a microwave oven, halogen hob and a wide range of both useful and essential utensils. The bathroom has been carefully modernized and presented, and new furniture further enhances relaxation for tired limbs at the end of an exhilarating skiing day. Sitting comfortably in the lounge watching the peak of Mont Blanc turn firey red as the sun goes down is a most memorable experience. Each time we go we look for the latest improvements that the owners have made. This last time I noticed the introduction of cosy new rugs in the lounge area. One thing that never changes is the fact that we are always confident of a wonderful week’s skiing/holidaying in a most comfortable apartment and in a vast area that provides for all our needs.

Sleeping arrangements are perfect for four in the two bedrooms, with the possibility for two further people to sleep in the convertible sofa in the good-sized lounge. Occasionally we have had six staying in the apartment. Only this last summer some friends, a family of four, stayed in the apartment for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed their holiday.

The apartment is ideally placed for the beginner to the advanced skier/boarder, as it is positioned central to the whole Paradiski area, and local facilities are ideal for learning and extending your skiing/boarding skills. Often one can ski the 50 metres down to the first ski lift of the day in the centre of the village, and directly back to the apartment at the end of the day.

No wonder that we’ve again booked the apartment for two weeks in the forthcoming winter season!!
