Apartment in Sant Feliu de Guixols, Costa Brava - 5 Minutes Walk to the Long Sandy Beach and to the Old Town

Beautiful modern & spacious. Our 3 bedroom,2 bathroom apartment is ideally located within a few minutes walk to the two local beaches, shops and restaurants.

The apartment has the advantage of air conditioning throughout, a lift and secure parking where your space is always guaranteed. Plus a large private roof terrace (with locable door) fully equipped with table,chairs,sunbeds,umbrella & gas BBQ. There is also power,potted plants and solar lights.

We have tried to think of everything to ensure you have a wonderful holiday, even down to providing beach umbrellas, a library of books & dvd´s and hand luggage scales to be sure that you don´t exceed your weight limit when buying all those holiday souvenirs. For the children there are body-boards,bucket & spades, balls,board games & cards.

We are very proud of our apartment and on many occasions have been told to quote "It is the best equipped apartment we have ever been to".

Sant Feliu de Guixols, a vibrant fishing town since antiquity, situated 100km from Barcelona (hourly bus service) and only 30km from Girona airport. 5 mins walk to the town which is set in a beautiful, sheltered bay and whose long, sandy beach contrasts with the surrounding craggy cliffs and secluded coves that give the Costa Brava its name. It gets its character from its clear, shallow waters, marina & active fishing (catch comes in daily). With its numerous bars & restaurants (most of which stay open all year), you will always be able to find an ideal spot to while away an hour or two with tapas & sangria. For the more active, there are numerous sporting attractions including a full size public swimming pool, gymnasiums, tennis courts, 2 sports complexes and a full range of nautical and aquatic sports. Golf at 5kms. The town hosts numerous and frequently free, activities and exhibitions. St Feliu de Guixols is an ideal location to unwind with friends, family, or a loved one.

S.F de G is a great little town. Apartment is very comfortable especially the air con.

Super cafes/restaurant,shops and markets. Day trips to Girona and Barcelona (book bus tickets day before) well worthwhile. Trip on little train very good too.

Comfortable, convenient and cool

The flat is very well equipped, very clean and comfortable, and it was great to be able to access the sunny terrace and to be able to dry laundry on the roof. The beaches are very accessible, and the evening walk into the busy town streets was a delight. The art gallery is also well worth a visit. Our hosts were very considerate, and I would definitely recommend this flat to anyone with a family (it fully met the needs of our children and their granny). There is some traffic noise in the night, so it's not suitable for anyone seeking absolute tranquillity. But if you want easy access to the town and town beaches, it's perfect.

What a hidden gem.

A fantastic spacious apartment. very well equipped with everything you need.

The air conditioning was a bonus this year with the soaring temperatures in San Feliu.

All linen included with beach towels which makes carry on luggage even easier as you dont need to pack bulky beach towels.

A fantastic supermarket next door with everything you need for eating breakfast in with fresh baked croissants and rolls,with lots of lovely restaurants to eat out in at night.

A short walk into the main town.

Another great week for the second year running in SFG already looking at dates for 2018 and will be booking the same apartment, great flight times and price and well as a great value for money apartment family friendly. The owners couldn't do enough for us a very friendly couple.

Large well equipped apartment

We stayed here for 2 1/2 weeks and had a wonderful time. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you will need for your stay. It is very spacious and clean. The roof terrace is very large a great place to have your meal in the evening. The town and beach of Sant Feliu is about a 10 min. It is a charming town, with lots of cafes, bars and shops. The Plats du Jour are great vale. The beach at San Pol is about a 15 min walk, but defiantly worth it. The sea here is crystal clear and the beach is quieter. There is a large supermarket next do which was great to get bread in the morning and for stocking up on all the heavy items. Dave and Lyn were fantastic hosts and were on hand if we had any questions. The only down side was the apartment is located at a junction with traffic lights and at certain times of the day it was very noisy. You do get used to it and it would not stop me from returning to the apartment.

Perfect in many ways!

The apartment was our base for a really great 2 weeks on the Costa Brava. The apartment itself was absolutely perfect in many ways. We wanted for nothing regarding amenities- the kitchen contained all the things we needed, with 3 young children the washing machine was a real bonus and the air conditioning was a blessing. We even had all the essentials required for a picnic on the beach - picnic boxes, plastic cups and a cool box! It was lovely and clean and was just as it looks in the photographs provided. We were met on our arrival by Lyn & Dave (the owners) who took us through the instructions for the AC etc and showed us around the apartment. The terrace in the photographs was perfect for warm sunny breakfasts & dinner as the sun set. The BBQ was used to cook local fish treats purchased from the market in the town. The terrace is reached by going up a set of stairs which are accessed in the main corridor & not from the apartment itself. Its central to 2 beaches which are easily within walking distance of just a few minutes (even with hot & tired children in tow!). Turn left out of the apartment block and you head towards the "Old Town" beach with many fine restaurants, even one that catered for our very strict coeliac daughter. On the subject of gluten free- the supermarket next door to the apartment block was amazingly well stocked and would put our own British local shops to shame with their excellent gluten free products that are much better labelled than here at home. This beach and area is perfect for an evening stroll & dinner stop and really comes to life as the sun sets. Turn right out of the apartment block and you then head towards St Pol beach with its roadside tapas bars & small restaurants. If you walk along the front of this beach, you walk past sand dunes and onto a path which takes you past many ideal photo opportunities of blue sea, coast and craggy rocks. Both beaches are superbly clean and the water is calm and warm. When we had recovered from our long car journey to get to Sant Feliu we found the apartment perfect as a base for exploring other areas along this lovely coast but we always returned happy that we had chosen our apartment & town as our holiday base- nowhere seemed to be better. We were very tempted to give our review a 5 star rating and wish that there was a 4.5 rating available, but we found just one minor downside to our perfect holiday- the traffic noise. Don't let this put you off- just invest in a set of ear plugs.

Great Property Great Location

A second floor apartment with its own separate roof terrace, it is a genuine 10 minute walk to the very centre of St. Feliu, a typical Catalunyan town several light years away in character from the Little Britain of Lloret de Mar.

The apartment itself has everything you could want to have a peaceful week self catering. Enough room for six people to live together comfortably for a week or 4 people for even longer. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en-suite and one family) and a fully equiped kitchen with all the required utensils for those who like to cook. Two small balconies off the lounge and the kitchen give views of the town and the street below but they aren't big enough to sit and eat on. That doesn't matter though because the roof terrace is enormous and is an absolute sun trap all day long. Ideal for BBQs, sipping cold drinks and taking in the mountains in the distance and views over the town. The only disappointment is that when you look over the side you see a roof lower down that looks a bit scruffy but that doesn't take long to get used to.

The town of St Feliu is a delight and right on the doorstep. An absolute mecca for those who like their tapas with plenty of other eating options as well. La Gaviota on Rabla d'Antoni Vidal provided a varied and interesting menu to suit all tastes and won't break the bank. Excellent food and especially good for those large parties who can share lots of tapas. The Can Julia a few doors down is also extremely good.

The Nou Xaica sits on the corner of the Ctra. de Palamos near the harbour and serves excellent homely Spanish food. Do not be put of by it's rather ordinary looking exterior - the staff are extremely friendly and the food is great. They adhere to the Spansih tradition that for every round of drinks you buy you get a complimentary tapas which is great if you just want a few beers and a snack or two - far better that crisps and nuts!

There are two beaches within St Feliu. Both good but I think the better of the two is at Sant Pol which is 15 minutes walk from the apartment. The coastal drive to Tossa de Mar is an absolute must do - absolutely stunning!

And of course our thanks to Lyn and David for making us feel so welcome and making sure that we had everything we needed.

Oh and I nearly forgot to mention there is a large but very quiet supermarket right next to the aprtment block so everything you need, including fresh bread every day, is right on your doorstep.
