Casa "Las Palomas" is a tastefully renovated, 3 storey town house situated in the 'casco antiguo' of Salobrena just 5 mins walk from the church, museum and Moorish Castle. The house is well equipped and has the benefit of air conditioning and heating. The king sized master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the double bedroom has a balcony and separate shower room. The well equipped kitchen leads through to the living/ dining room. There are two terraces with spectacular views of the sea and surrounding countryside. Parking is just 50 meters away and there are three superb restaurants/bars just a six minute walk away.

Set on a rocky hill, right next to the sea, Salobrena is a jewel on the Costa Tropical. Due to it's historical importance, the holiday development has been strictly controlled to protect the agricultural plain and retain the town's Andalusian charm. Salobrena has all the facilities you need for a great holiday and there are plenty of restaurants, shops, supermarkets, banks, an open market, a tourist office and sports centre. There are local fiestas and events throughout the year. The golf course is only 5 mins away and you can enjoy horse riding, walking, bird watching, diving and other water sports within a 20 mins drive.

Real Spain

Very comfortable townhouse, with all mod cons, and retaining traditional Spanish character.

Spotlessly clean.

The roof and side terraces are wonderful places to sit and enjoy sunrise and sunset, with views over the town, towards the mountains and the coast.

Marti, the welcoming house manager, was on hand to ensure we had a full introduction to the house and Salobreña.

There is a welcome pack on arrival, a great gesture, and a substantial folder, with tips and tourist information.

David and Carol also provide relevant, timely, helpful information, from the time of booking the house, to arrival, and beyond.

The townhouse is ideally situated in the old town, with supermarkets, shops, bars, the Moorish castle and beach all within reach on foot ( albeit via steep steps ), or bus, with a bus stop situated nearby.

All in all, a fabulous week, and we would recommend this super property for a very enjoyable stay to anyone.

Lovely rental in the heart of old Salobrena with fabulous views and fab restaurants on the doorstep

Set on the hillside our rental was right in the heart of everyday Spanish life. Clean and well looked after (and now with air con). Fabulous views from the rooftop terrace, great for bbqing and relaxing. Amazing restaurant (Bar Pesetas) 5 mins walk away that serves wonderful fish whilst offering an amazing view over the rooftops. The pebbly beach is 20 mins walk down the hill ( lots of steps so if you're not particulary fit then there's a 1/2 hourly bus that stops right outside the property that will take you to the beach/shops etc).

Further afield, if you prefer a small cove type of beach there's a pretty place, Playa de la Rijana, the far side of Motril. You need a car to get there and parking is just off the main road with a walk downhill to the beach. Canoes, paddleboards and a beach bar...fab.

Definately recommend staying here. The owners we so helpful leading up to the holiday and Marti who looks after the property was very welcoming and accommodating. Great for visits to Granada as only an hour away.

Lovely town house

The house is situated just over half way up the village on a quiet street. It is really well equipped , very clean and spacious. Good to have a welcome pack of essentials when we arrived and the information pack in the house was really useful. Marti, the house manager was very helpful and friendly . The best part of the house is definitely the roof terrace with lovely views of the surrounding area. There are plenty of shops, bars restaurants in walking distance and I would certainly recommend Bar Peseta for an evening meal with a spectacular view.

We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the lovely townhouse.

The house that Marti cleans.

My sister and I had a fantastic stay here. It is

the cleanest house I have stayed in, with plenty of space, and three balconies, The bus took us to the castle, and for 1 euro you can go all the way round back into town. Also there is the small shop a few minutes away, Juan is

a wonderful guy. The house was a bit difficult to find, but well worth it. I will be back.

We have just returned from a week's holiday in beautiful Salobrena. The Town House we rented was as enchanting as described in the listing. It was very clean & had every home comfort with the addition of being in a fabulous location with a choice of a balcony or one of the two terraces to enjoy the stunning sea, mountain & village views. We particularly enjoyed the experience of living within the Spanish community among the friendly villagers. Getting around was a test for our fitness! Walking down to the town or the beach was easy but the uphill return journey or a trip higher up into the village up to the Castle on foot was quite testing. Having said that, there is a bus which comes along every hour so you could hop on that if so inclined or hire a car. It didn't spoil our enjoyment in any way whatsoever. There are some fabulous local restaurants, our favourite being Pesetas Bar & Restaurant up near the Castle. The views from the open air upper floor were incredible & the food & service excellent. Reasonable prices too. The house manager was most welcoming, warm, very friendly & always willing to help whenever she could. We would definitely recommend to family & friends. Something for everyone in Salobrena & the surrounding area. Fantastic!

A lovely Town House

We had a lovely stay, the house was very nice, very relaxing. the views from the roof terrace were fantastic witch we never tired from, the local area was very nice with all the amenities we needed, there were some good bars with free tapas, the beach and surrounding area was cleaned every morning. My only advice to people looking to stay is that if you struggle with walking I would recommend a car or use the local bus as the steps down to the town are a killer especially coming back up. But don't let this put you off staying, you feel like part of the community the local people were very friendly, there are vans driving around every day delivering bread, eggs, fruit & veg.

From the Owner

We moved from a house in the mountains after falling in love with Salobrena. It is one of the few places where you can enjoy an unspoilt coastline away from mass tourism. The climate is perfect - warmer in winter and cooler than the mountains in summer. Plus you can enjoy views of the snow capped sierras while sitting in 20 + degrees.

Activity and Interests


The large, clean beaches are just a 10 min walk away (20 mins back). Here there are many good seafood and specialist restaurants. You can take the little local mini-bus which passes the house every half hour to the beach or town. Pedaloes are available in the summer. Snorkeling is also a favourite with the locals and visitors alike. There are horse riding facilities 20 mins away.


Granada airport is 50 mins away. Malaga airport is 70 mins away. Almeria airport is 90 mins away. Granada has bus and train stations. Buses run from Granada to Salobrena daily.


The town centre is a 10 min walk (15 mins back). Almuneca is 20 mins by car and has diving and other water sports facilities. Motril, a large town, is a 10 mins drive. Granada, 50 mins drive, is good for clothes shopping and of course the Alhambra Palace and its many historical buildings. The Alpujarras, an area of outstanding rural beauty, are a 30 min drive. Here there are lots of interesting walks.

Further Details:

Excellent bars/restaurants just further up the old town, with wonderful views from their terraces. Further up is the old church and Moorish castle. Supermarkets, cash points and many shops in the main town. There are several good seafood restaurants and music bars,

We find the property convenient for shops, restaurants and the sea, while been out of the bustle of the lower town. Sometimes its hard to move from the roof terrace because the views and day long sunshine are just too alluring. When you are out and about there are plenty of country and seaside walks, along with a wide variety of restaurants and bars. Granada is also only 50 minutes away if you want a bigger cultural centre for the day. Access is easy with motorway links from Malaga and Granada airports.
