About the property

Farmhouse in Almancil, Central Algarve - Quiet Location, 10 Mins Drive To Beach

The villa has three double bedrooms, all en-suite. There is a fully fitted kitchen and a large lounge/dining room. It has a 10m x 5m swimming pool with hoist for disabled access. Owned and designed by a wheelchair user. The villa is accessible for the disabled. The farmhouse is secure in a rural secluded area, but only a 10 minute drive to the beach and 20 minutes from Faro airport. A car is recommended but if you are not planning to travel from the house it is possible to get a transfer and relax for rest of your holiday.

About MIke

I live in England with my wife and three dogs. I was a Airframe Technician in the RAF. Unfortunately I was involved in a motorcycle accident in 1998. I had a spinal injury and now use a wheelchair full time. I have travelled to many countries throughout Europe, but fell in love with Portugal.

MIke purchased this farmhouse in 2005

Why MIke chose Almancil area

We love the Algarve because of the fantastic facilities in the area. There are some beautiful beaches and the marina boasts a great range of bars and restaurants. There really is something for everyone here. The area is easily accessible with Faro airport less than 20 mins drive away.

What makes this farmhouse unique

The property is in a quiet secluded location, but only a 10 minute drive to the hustle and bustle of the coast. The villa is a home from home with excellent wheelchair facilities. Accessible transfers and taxi service can be arranged. A local company can provide disabled equipment if required.

We really loved everything about this house and the location. We cannot recommend this highly enough. Everything was first rate. The owners parents who were so friendly and nice were there to meet us and had a gift pack for us which was very handy as we arrived on Sunday and a lot of the shops were closed. The pool was really great also. Would most certainly return.

We had a fantastic time at Casa da Eira, the villa was even more than we had hoped for. The facilities at the villa left us nothing to want for. We have four children ranging from 12 to two and everybody had an equally good and comfortable time. Thank you and a special thanks to Mr and Mrs Smith. We hope we have the opportunity to visit again.

Tranquil location with beautiful pool

The property was spacious and comfortable for two adults and four lively children. We were able to truly relax as the poolside area has lots of room and sun loungers were provided.

On arrival a welcome pack was provided with essential provisions and the luxury of some booze!

The owner also provided excellent directions and pictures of main landmarks for the route. This is essential as it is an unmarked road so a satnav will keep going in circles, also even cab drivers do not have any knowledge or desire to find the villa! We had a worrying time waiting for a cab to the airport, however the owners father went out of his way to help us get a replacement cab.
