About Steve Thomson

My wife and I moved to this lovely area from Scotland approx 15 years ago. We lived originally close to Valbonne area but it became too busy and we moved to the Domaine de Fayence area,

The Eastern Var is without doubt a very beautiful and convenient area in which to live. We are surrounded by mountains and forests and yet are only about 35 mins by car to Cannes and the hustle and bustle of the coast and all its night life. We think our life has been interesting and varied, including having owned hotels, yachts and a ski business in Scotland.

I am a marine and mechanical engineer and I am also a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist. My wife Lorna has extensive experience in the management of businesses, catering, owning and managing a retail business in the UK and with me was employed in the super yacht charter business. Steve and Lorna.

Why Steve Thomson chose Callian

The villa although peaceful is close to Callian which offers 4 restaurants, butcher shop, pharmacy, bakers ,mini supermarket offering English and other language newspapers ,and two souvenir shops. The road through Callian is closed to traffic at weekends giving a safe environment for children to play and has various musical evenings in July and August. Although we have not installed AC in the bedrooms, we have not had any complaints from our guests during the last 11 years . This is probably due to the solid stone construction of the walls. We do have ceiling fans.

What makes this villa unique

We have a very spacious garden , a children's play house , sandpit. a boules pitch a badminton net etc. The garden is fully enclosed with electrically operated front entrance gates. During the last 8 years we have had many clients returning to our villa year after year.

Relaxing Country House in the foothills

2 families with 6 children from 4-16 all had a great time in and out of the pool. The little ones loved the playhouse with doll's house. We had cyclists who enjoyed riding up to Mons and beyond, tennis players who had lessons at the local club, teenagers who would stay all day at Lac Saint-Cassien and also adults who just enjoyed time to relax by the pool and read their books. There really was Something for everyone. The owner was extremely helpful and the house was wonderfully well equipped.
