Centre of Cascais - Town House in the Old Town of Cascais, Lisbon Coast, Portugal - Set in the Old Town yet only Minutes Walk To Town Centre, Beaches, Marina, Parks And Train Station

The house is available for long term winter rental - from October 2016 to May 2017 at discounted rates.

The house was closed for major renovations, refurbishment and modernisation during October & November 2014 - including a new kitchen and service area (with new machines, oven etc), 2 new bathrooms, new floors, new wardrobes, carpets, sofas, painting etc etc - also an insulation/ damp course was implemented and new double glazed windows and french windows were fitted. A new drainage system installed

The attractive, friendly town house is located in the quiet, narrow cobbled-streets of the historical old town in the centre of Cascais and yet only some 200 metres from the town centre!

A new floor in the hall &living/dining areas was put in May 2013 - as well as repainting the living & dining areas and also a new fridge& dining room chairs were added.

Internet facilities are available at the house - wireless net

The house is fully furnished, with a private, secluded patio and BBQ, new patio chairs and table added in spring 2015.

The house is ideal for a family vacation.

Ideal holiday location for young families and the older generation! It is only a very short walk to everything Cascais has to offer. The beaches (100 metres!), parks, marina and yacht club, shops, good bars and many restaurants, there are 6 within 100 metres of the house, the vibrant town centre of Cascais is less than a 2 minute walk away. The train station, Cascais-Estoril-Lisbon (32 mins), is again just a few mins walk from the house. A car is not necessary!

Having seen other reviews on Owners Direct and Trip Advisor, we decided we liked the look and location of the town house and we were not disappointed. The owners, David & Teresa Sutcliffe, had close the property through the winter and carried out extensive upgrading, including complete refitting of both bathrooms and the kitchen to an excellent stand. The property is very well located, close to the centre of Cascais but in a quiet street with a nice, private patio for the odd barbecue. The railway and bus stations and major shopping centre are only 10 minutes walk away with cheap and regular services to Lisbon(40mins by train @ Eu4.20) and Sintra ( similar price and cost depending on route). Cascais is a pleasant town with lots of facilities, shops and restaurants to suit most tastes. We enjoyed it very much and will go again soon. Word of warning - both Lisbon and Sintra are very hilly if you are thinking of walking everywhere (you can always resort to good public transport ortry a tuk-tuk ride for a change!).

This must be the best place to stay in Cascais

We have just returned from our second visit to this property, and guess what, we are so happy with this house that we have already booked again for 2017! This house is perfect for our small group of friends and would be idyllic for a family group. Well laid out and comfortable furnishings inside and a cosy courtyard outside, shaded by a wonderful large parasol over the modern outdoor table and chairs. This courtyard is an enviable place to relax after a hard session on the nearby beach, an informative museum visit or a general browse through the near at hand shops!! One of our favourite places is the open air café at the “Jardim Visconde da Luz” which is an easy stroll from this accommodation. Sipping on a coffee or freshly made orange juice watching the world pass by is truly calming and at times most entertaining. This spot is about halfway on the walk to the twice weekly market, which even for a non-shopper like myself, I would whole heartedly recommend. Obviously tourists are present, but the market is aimed at the locals with a fantastic fruit and vegetable market, one of the best fish markets I have ever seen, and a general market around the sides. Be like native Portuguese and buy your fresh food here and you will be more than happy with the quality and price. Although we didn’t use the provided barbeque, the market would be a great place to stock up. I could wax lyrical about both the property and the location, but suffice to say that I totally recommend this place for a good holiday/vacation.

Excellent house two minutes from beach

Myself with wife and grown up son and daughter (23 and 21) stayed for one week. Our host was very friendly and helpful, showing us briefly around the town pointing out the highlights and main amenities. The house was very spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. It was very neat and tidy. Very comfortable beds. We twice had barbecues in the front garden but mainly ate out in the town or in Lisbon. Lots of good restaurants in town. Lots of music and bands playing in the squares. Beaches were good. Sea a bit cold, as we're used to the Med!

Fabulous Cascais

Both Cascais and David's accommodation exceeded our expectations. Cascais was just simply the best - blue skies and warm sunshine, super food and Super Bok at Pedro's. The hose was very clean and comfortable and very homely. We were told you don't need a car in Cascais - you don't; we were told the local restaurants served wonderful food at very competitive prices - they do; finally we were told Portugal is the best - it is! We shall be back!!

Very central but very quietly located

Excellent location, close to beaches and many restaurants and shops. The property is well maintained and clean with 2 modern bathrooms with showers and modern kitchen. Small secluded courtyard to front with table with seating for 6 - a real suntrap. Proprietor very helpful with a good knowledge of local amenities

Third holiday here - can thoroughly recommend it!

My elderly mother and I love staying here as it is so central to everything. We don't have to go far for supplies as there is a handy shop a few paces away which is well stocked and now makes fresh bread daily as well as serving fresh food. We were spoilt for choice as to where to eat in Cascais and the owners recommended some good places. They couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The shops, restaurants, beach, marina etc are all a short walk away. Despite this, the house is in a very quiet location, and we enjoyed relaxing in the secluded patio. The house itself is just as described - spotless, comfortable and with a well equipped kitchen should you choose to dine in. Our favourite destination was Santinis - make sure you seek it out if you want to enjoy a huge variety of the best ice-cream you can buy!

Nearest airport is Lisbon International Airport - some 38k from Cascais. If you are staying in Cascais a car is not required. The train station, some 7 mins walk, takes you into Lisbon (32 mins) via Estoril, in clean, modern air conditioned trains - which are not expensive & always on time!

Cascais is a very safe & popular holiday destination with many shops, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and prices! The town has everything you would need. The nearest shop is some 5m from the house.
