About the Owner

We live in Cambridgeshire and are keen club golfers (although not too good) which is part of the reason for buying the apartment as there are now so many good golf courses within a short drive. As we are both still working we don't go to the apartment as much as we would like.

Over the years we have learned where all the good restaurants are and can pass this knowledge to guests.

We bought the apartment new in 2006 and eventually plan to retire in it although over the last couple of years this has become a distant dream.

Fab Apartment

We went for a short late summer / early winter break and the weather was fantastic. The apartment is set away from the town around 10 - 15 minutes walk (depending on the company). From the onset of booking we had great communication from Jan & Tony. Alan met us at the apartment and gave us a guided tour and directions to the town. The apartment is really spacious with very comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need and is really spacious with a great balcony, the lounge diner is a really good size with loads of extras (DVD player, selection of DVDs and CDs), a really nice touch, even though we were out every evening. The bedrooms and two bathrooms are a good size - with plenty of hot water and all are decorated to a high specification - this is not your bog standard package apartment!!

Two other aspects that I loved were the number of balcony's - you can always find sun or shade. Then you have the roof terrace - nice to chat to the neighbour who was really sociable. then you have the hot tub, to be honest we thought we might use it once or twice but used it everyday - the views are fantastic while relaxing. There are also plenty of sun beds and cushions, and a dining table - great for early evening drinks and snacks.

The town of Tavira is beautiful with a great variety of restaurants (we loved Oska's - fantastic food), The Irish bar (this side of the river also has great food and entertainment) Unfortunately I cant mention all of the restaurants but we never had a night out that we didn't enjoy. This is a lovely destination for those who enjoy an unspoilt destination - the apartment also has details of a number of great places to visit.

Overall: we had a great time, Lovely accommodation, easy booking and meet / greet service - we'll be returning

Superb Apartment in Tavira

Pegada Apt

My husband and I stayed for one week in this lovely apt. It has a wonderful layout, and receives good exposure to the sun. In the morning with the sun in the bedrooms, you have a private, quiet coffee spot, with a wonderful view. In the afternoon, the sun is in the front of the building, shining into the kitchen and living room, perfect timing. The hot tub on the roof was a great way to end each day. Alan was great to meet us at the apt, and get us oriented to the surroundings. Tony and Jan were also readily available by email to answer questions! We also walked to tavira town several times for dinner in the evening. Amazing selection of restaurants to choose from. Also the gran plaza shopping mall is within walking distance. Taxis to and from the centre are cheap at around 5 euro! Santa Luzia and Cabanas are also worth a visit. I would highly recommend this apt for a small or large group, a few couples etc. As it is well set up for such a group.

Really nice apartment

We had a lovely stay at this apartment in Pegada, Tavira. The apartment was first class in every respect. Excellent quality of finish, very spacious and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. There were six people in our party and there was more than enough room for us all.

The hot tub on the roof terrace was a very welcome and enjoyable addition and was regularly used throughout our week there.

The apartment was probably a 10 to 15 minue walk from the centre of Tavira, but we did not see this as any kind of a disadvantage and we found that taxis were easily available if we preferred not to walk back after a night out.

We found the owners a pleasue to deal with and we would not hesitate to recommed this apartment.

From the Owner

We choose Tavira to have an apartment as it has a relaxed charm about it and a fantastic beach. The town will always be little cobbled streets with fantastic little restaurants. After looking at many apartments we fell in love with this one because it is so spacious (same floor area as my 4 bed detached house) and has all mod cons. In 2009 a new shopping mall was opened with a large supermarket, shops, cinema and various nationality eating places all inside.

Nearest beach, the Ilha of Tavira is 2km. It is accessed by passenger ferry which can be reached by walking to town and catching the road train or is a 5 minute drive. In the summer months there is a ferry directly from the town. The Blue flag golden sand beach stretches all the way to Faro and has restaurants, toilets, sun shades, beach volleyball and football nets. Beaches also stretch in the opposite direction all the way to the Spanish border.


Tavira is a 25 minute drive from Faro Airport. Car hire is recommended but not essential. There is a train station approx a half mile walk from the apartment and the railway line runs from Monte Gordo in the East to Lagos in the West.


The apartment is 5 minutes from the motorway that runs from Spain to Lagos so any part of the Algarve is easily accessible by car. A good selection of shops and restaurants are less than 1km. The Grand Plaza shopping Mall is only a 5 minute drive from the apartment.

As the building is at the top of a hill, from the roof terrace you can see along the coast to Spain then turn round and look at the mountains. The roof terrace is large and solely for use of the apartment. The 6 person spa is a really nice place to chill and relax. The apartment is in a quiet area with friendly neighbours.
