It is stylishly furnished and fully equipped for all your holiday needs. All rooms are air-conditioned and finished to a high standard. The views of Kalkan Bay and the Taurus mountains from the Mina apartments private sun terrace are spectacular. A large sunshade and built in barbecue make alfresco dining a real joy. Unlike many Kalkan properties, The Emir apartments are just five minutes easy walk to the village shops, harbour and roof top restaurants. No need for a taxi. The Emirs two large swimming pools with sun loungers and umbrellas are provided for the exclusive use of guests. 24 hour, English speaking, reception, security and maid facilities. The perfect place to relax and unwind.

Gill & Andy. We have had the most amazing time. The views from the apartment are breathtaking and its such a peaceful location. We could not get over just how many restaurants there are in Kalkan. A week we will never forget.



Gaynor Ursula & Sue. What a wonderful place Kalkan is with its beautiful scenery and friendly people. We had wonderful meals and the boat trip with Sunset I was unforgetable as was Saklikent in the mountains. We will never forget the view from the balcony where we had many a gin and tonic. A place to remember.

Alison & family. We had a super holiday in Kalkan. We thought Mina apartment wonderfully spacious with terrific views and very well appointed. Kalkan has some wonderful restaurants- we couldnt believe there were so many. We had a couple of glorious trips out.

Kalkan’s small beach which is adjacent to the entrance to the harbour and bars is a 10 minute walk. Alternatively there are many beach clubs offering water-sking, jet ski, scuba diving in the crystal clear waters of the bay. There are many famous beaches and historic sites a short drive (or bus trip away) Patara with its 18 km of beach, spectacular sand dunes and historic sites is only 20 minutes away and the stunning Kaputas beach is only 5 minutes away.

Travel:

Flights from the UK to Dalaman airport Turkey take approx 4 hours. Dalaman (airport code DLM) is the closest airport to Kalkan. A new terminal building is now open.

The journey time from Dalaman to Kalkan is approx 1hr 45 mins.

Further Details:

Kalkan is a small peaceful Mediterranean resort and fishing village. It is more sophisticated than the usual resort and has not been touched by mass tourism.

Sheltered at the foot of the towering Taurus Mountains, Kalkan curls round an ancient harbour. The town overlooks a beautiful bay dotted with small islands. Narrow streets twist down to the harbour, lined with white washed, shuttered buildings draped with brightly coloured bougainvillea. There are many speciality shops and excellent restaurants, often with roof terraces overlooking the harbour. Because of its great charm, Kalkan has a growing number of perennial visitors who say the town is the only holiday destination they would choose to visit repeatedly. There is simply no other town quite like Kalkan along Turkey's coast.

Notes on accommodation: The Mina penthouse apartment is fully furnished and well equipped for all your holiday needs. There are three full size bedrooms, two family shower rooms, and a massive living-dining area leading onto the private penthouse sun terace with built in barbecue. There is 24 hour, on-site reception, security and maid facilities. Sun loungers and sun umbrellas are provided around the pools for use of guests. Pool towels provided. A welcome hamper is provided and the English speaking manager of the Emir apartments will meet you on arrival and show you the apartment. The Emir apartments are built to a very high standard with large water reserve tanks and the Emir's generator ensures that you remain cool at all times as the air-conditioning and hot water is always available particularly as the mains power in Kalkan is subject to frequent interuption. Wi-Fi available Outside: Mina is part of a small exclusive development of 20 privately owned, luxury apartments. The sun terraces, pool areas and gardens are well established with bougainvillea and other beautiful shrubs. There is space for parking, should you decide to hire a car, although it is not a necessity with reliable local transport and taxis. The village shops, many provide a free delivery service, harbour and restaurants are only a 5 minutes easy walk. Utility Room: Washing machine. Iron, ironing board. Fire extinguisher. Safe. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and bath towels provided. Bins emptied daily and twice weekly full clean and linen change. Other: Large penthouse sun terrace with BBQ and spectacular panoramic view of Kalkan bay and Taurus mountains.

Having stayed at Mina on several occasions now (another week already booked for next September) I really thought I should write a review of this much loved apartment. Funnily enough I stayed here when it was the Mina Hotel (Tapestry) and when I realised it had been converted into apartments I was delighted. There are many good things to write about Mina but the top few are firstly, being a penthouse apartment it has the best view of the bay, including Mouse and Snake islands. Secondly, unlike many properties in Kalkan it is an easy walk to the old town, about 5-10 minutes, the slight incline on the way home really isn’t a problem and thirdly, it is the best ever equipped apartment I have ever stayed in. Just like being at home.

If you are just a couple or a family it is a great space to enjoy your holiday. It’s very spacious.

Kalkan is also a lovely place. There is a small beach but if you prefer a swimming pool , Mina shares two with the other apartments. I have always found there to be plenty of sunbeds available.

Restaurants in Kalkan are plentiful. Like one for nearly every day of the year I should imagine! They range from really quite expensive to small and cheap and where you see the locals eating, always a good sign.

And however much I bang on about how fantastic this apartment is , is does have some setbacks. Eh, I can’t actually think of any at the moment. Roll on September 2015 is all I can say.
