Fabulous apartment

What a fantastic 2 day stay. The apartment was absolutely HUGE with enormous living room, spacious bedrooms and a large balcony containing 2 sun loungers, table and chairs, and the most amazing view of Kalkan and the mountains. The property is up a steep but fairly short hill but it's Kalkan so if you don't like hills don't go to Kalkan. There is everything you need in the apartment. It took me 2 days to realise there wasn't a TV. Not a problem for me but maybe a family with young kids would find it useful. The site itself is lovely and spacious and is a very high quality with 2 pools. Would definitely want to stay there again if/when we go back to Kalkan.

Excellent - great apartment & complex - good location

The Mina penthouse is a two-floor duplex set within the Emir complex - a smallish group of apartments that previously was a high-end hotel (it suffers none for the conversion). It was spotlessly clean throughout, & very well equipped. Air conditioning in every room kept the delicious but ferocious heat at bay when necessary, & the 3 bedrooms (one of which has amazing views across the bay) allowed for flexible accommodation. The big ticket item is the balcony however - a large, long area which spectacular panoramic views across Kalkan. The apartment was also really quiet, & check-in (via the live-in manager) was easy. One issue to take into account - although the Emir apartments are really well situated (away from any noise of the restaurant area, but still easily walkable), it is up a steep hill which is tricky when the sun's out in full force. This is readily over-comeable by using the cheap & plentiful taxis of the town. Also, the complex has quite a few steps with Mina being at the top with no lift, so you do need to be able to climb a couple of flights. All-in-all though, heartily recommended - a great apartment in a really good complex with views to die for.

Paradise

Having stayed at Mina on several occasions now (another week already booked for next September) I really thought I should write a review of this much loved apartment. Funnily enough I stayed here when it was the Mina Hotel (Tapestry) and when I realised it had been converted into apartments I was delighted. There are many good things to write about Mina but the top few are firstly, being a penthouse apartment it has the best view of the bay, including Mouse and Snake islands. Secondly, unlike many properties in Kalkan it is an easy walk to the old town, about 5-10 minutes, the slight incline on the way home really isn’t a problem and thirdly, it is the best ever equipped apartment I have ever stayed in. Just like being at home. If you are just a couple or a family it is a great space to enjoy your holiday. It’s very spacious. Kalkan is also a lovely place. There is a small beach but if you prefer a swimming pool , Mina shares two with the other apartments. I have always found there to be plenty of sunbeds available. Restaurants in Kalkan are plentiful. Like one for nearly every day of the year I should imagine! They range from really quite expensive to small and cheap and where you see the locals eating, always a good sign. And however much I bang on about how fantastic this apartment is , is does have some setbacks. Eh, I can’t actually think of any at the moment. Roll on September 2015 is all I can say.

Einfach großartig

Fantastische Aussicht vom Balkon, auf dem man wunderbar essen kann, drei sehr schöne Schlafzimmer, davon eines mit separatem Balkon, zwei sehr schöne Pools, der Fußweg zum Ort mit Restaurants, Clubs, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Läden aller Art etc. ist kurz und auch berghoch kein Problem. In der Anlage mit mehreren Einheiten ist das Appartement ganz oben und daher praktisch nicht einsehbar. Alles in allem rundherum empfehlenswert!
